We'll be covering the Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine Event tonight at 10 PM Eastern. As luck would have it this is taking place during a Free Showtime Weekend so you may be able to catch the show even if you're not a Showtime subscriber, but if you don't have cable or satellite, you can still count on us for all of the latest results - just hit F5 or refresh as often as you like. Stay tuned to find out if Luke Rockhold successfully defends his Strikeforce Middleweight Title against former UFC light heavyweight fighter Keith 'The Dean of Mean' Jardine!

8 PM ET. What the heck - I'll cover the prelims too.

* Alonzo Martinez (35-13-1; Omaha, NE) vs. Estavan Payan (12-3, 1 NC; Tempe, AZ)

Frank Shamrock, Mauro Ranallo and Pat Miletich are the commentators for tonight's show, which is also being broadcast live to 175 countries via the Armed Forces Network. Tale of the Tape: 29 to 27, 5'9.5" each, 160 to 160.5 pounds, and 72" to 69" reach from Payan to Martinez. Ranallo reads us the Rules of Combat before we go back to Jimmy Lennon Jr. Our referee is Kim Winslow. Here we go!

Payan is wearing white trunks and Martinez black. Martinez also has a colored checkerboard pattern in his hair. Both fighters are slugging it away in the opening 30 seconds. Shamrock notes that Martinez fought EIGHT times in 2011 (thought he looked familiar). Martinez tries to get an ankle pick at 3:15 and Payan gets away. The camera angle behind Payan shows us he has angel wings tatted on his back. He throws a liver kick worthy of Bas Rutten or Alistair Overeem. Payan tries to put Martinez on the cage and pummel him but he slips away. Payan really seems to be picking up the pace and Martinez seems less willing to engage in trading blow for blow. Martinez shoots again but Payan's able to stuff the double leg. Martinez is now being caught with leg kicks, stiff jabs, and just about everything but the kitchen sink. 10-9 Payan.

Payan wastes no time throwing jabs to start R2. He looks increasingly confident with every passing second. He's throwing hooks so hard that Martinez loses his mouthpiece. Strikeforce throws up a CompuStrike that shows Payan is landing over 50% of his shots, and they sound loud each time they connect. Martinez almost seems to be trying a Korean Zombie strategy here, eating shots without being finished, but it's not putting him in position to win. I think Martinez needs to be drilled on head movement - he leaves it right there for every jab and cross his opponent throws. Even a little bob and weave would help tremendously. 1:45 left. Martinez put up a good fight early in the first but it has been all Payan since about 3 minutes in and the occasional leg kick Martinez throws out isn't changing the momentum. Payan is bruising and swelling Martinez with these right hooks and punches to the face. 10-9 again.

R3 gets underway at 8:24 ET. The first minute looks the same as the last 7 we just saw. Payan should cruise to a unanimous decision unless Martinez can sneak in a lucky shot or a perfect one to the jaw. Honestly though it's Payan throwing the perfect punches, blows which would have knocked out most men, landing hooks between the jaw and ear and mixing it up with jabs and uppercuts. Another takedown is stuffed at the halfway point. Payan's corner blatantly and loudly yells "He can't even keep up with you Estavan, he's a punching bag, let's go!" Well it's true. You can call it arrogant but you can't call it incorrect in any way. Ranallo quips that Martinez' body will be as black & blue as his hair when this one is over. This was an almost uncontested sparring session. The HD close-ups of Martinez afterward are brutal.

Here's Jimmy Lennon Jr. to make it official. AFTER THREE ROUNDS WE GO TO THE SCORECARDS FOR A DECISION - ALL THREE JUDGES SCORE IT 30-27 FOR YOUR WINNER BY UNANIMOUS DECISION: ESTAVAN 'EL TERRIBLE' PAYAN. We go to a Luke Rochkhold video package.

* Ricky Legere (13-4; Lake Forest, CA) vs. Chris Spang (4-0; Las Vegas, NV)

The latter fighter is Las Vegas by the way of Sweden and his nickname is @ChrisTheKiss. Our referee is Chris Tognoni. Our fight gets underway at 8:39. Legere has on black trunks, Spang has on white. Spang gets picked up and double leg slammed to the ground in the first minute. He throws shots to the body and ribs and works for position as Spang does his best to neutralize him and stall against the fence. Two minutes gone. Legere is doing a good job of softening up his opponent. It's almost impossible to miss his bright pink mohawk as he passes to side control with 2:25 left. Legere tries to transition to full mount and literally gets cut off at the pass. Right now things are definitely not going Spang's way - it's all defense and no submission attempts. Spang finally gets up at 45 seconds left. Legere NEARLY gets caught in a guillotine late but time runs out before he can tap to it.

Spang goes for a jumping knee at around 20 seconds but Legere timed it perfectly and got a takedown from it. Miletich now believes Spang is just trying to tie Legere up until he can get a stand-up or power out. 3:20 left. "When you're a great striker, figure out how to get back to your feet, or tie the guy up and let the referee help you." Legere tries to stand up and throw down a few bombs, then tries to stack Spang up, but ultimately just winds up back on the ground inside the guard. We finally get the stand-up at 1:57 left in R2. Spang tries to turn it into a stand-up war but Legere drives him into the fence again. He picks Spang up and carries him across the cage to slam him down. An even more dominant second round for Legere than the first. 10-9 again.

Spang's first minute of R3 is is best minute of the whole fight. He's finally able to connect with strikes for a while. By 90 second sin though Legere gets a sweep takedown and looks like he'll be able to ride it out to a decision. They're stood up at 2:11 though which gives Spang half a chance, but Legere wastes no time going for a single and getting his foe into the fence. Takedown succeeds at 1:27. Spang is able to get to his feet and go for a rear naked choke with 50 seconds left. Legere is doing a good job of fending it off even though Spang has his back. Legere even manages to roll through and take full mount right before the horn. Should be our second 30-27 clean sweep.

8:59 PM ET. Jimmy Lennon Jr. is here to make it official. AFTER THREE ROUNDS WE GO TO THE JUDGES FOR A DECISION - ALL THREE JUDGES SCORE IT 29-28 FOR THE WINNER BY UNANIMOUS DECISION: RICKY LEGERE.

* Gian Villante (8-3; Levittown, NY) vs. Trevor Smith (9-1; Tukwila, WA)

Tale of the Tape: 31 to 26, 6'2.5" each, 205 to 206 pounds, 76" to 75 from Smith to Villante. Kim Winslow is our referee again. This fight is underway at 9:04 ET. Smith is in the red trunks and Villante the black. Villante has him down in the first few seconds but Smith quickly gets back up. Ranallo reminds us that Villante debuted in Strikeforce as a heavyweight and lost to Chad 'Gravedigger' Griggs. Villante knocks Smith down with a shot at 4:02 and throws hammersfists until WINSLOW WAVES IT OFF SECONDS LATER TO SAVE SMITH. They argue about the stoppage on commentary but Shamrock's analysis is right to me - his head was down and not moving and he was taking uncontested shots. The official time according to Jimmy Lennon Jr. is 1:05 OF R1 FOR THE WINNER BY TKO - GIAN VILLANTE.

* Nah-Shon Burrell (7-1; Philadelphia, PA) vs. James Terry (11-3; San Jose, CA)

Tale of the Tape: 30 to 21, 5'10" to 5'10.5", 171 each, 70.5" to 73" in reach from Terry to Burrell. Our referee in charge for this welterweight bout is Herb Dean. We're underway at 9:16 PM ET! Burrell is in the red and black trunks, Terry the white. Burrell is doing well early using leg kicks and strikes taking advantage of his reach. Terry presses him up against the fence and is looking for a takedown, which he gets at 3:35. Burrell isn't able to get away and Terry keeps turning so he can't wall walk. He finally powers to his knees and up again at 2:24 but Terry puts him right down again and gets a full mount. Burrell uses raw strength again to post on his armpit and get straight up out of it. Terry gets him down a third time and takes his back. 90 seconds left. Burrell stands up with Terry on his back and gets free. Terry goes for a single as Herb Dean calls for more work. He gets another single leg with 0:38 before Dean can decide to break it up. Burrell is up again at 0:14 for whatever it's worth. I'd call it a 10-9 for Terry.

Second round starts like the first - Burrell striking early, Terry getting a takedown at 3:53 left. I expect Burrell to power out three times, Terry to take him down 4 times, and Herb Dean to call for work several more times. It turns into a striking exchange for a couple of minutes but Terry has another takedown with 30 seconds left. 10-9 again. Burrell looks a little gassed after the horn.

R3 starts at 9:29 PM ET after a spilled bag of ice is cleaned up. It's a shame Joe Rogan wasn't here for this one! Burrell is really trying to turn it up in the first minute, perhaps sensing he's behind, landing some good head shots and a knee. Terry could give away this round and if one of the others was close he could give away the fight in the process. He seems reluctant to engage. 2 minutes gone. Body blows, knees, elbows, jumping knees, he's throwing great individual shots and combos but not keeping the pressure on relentlessly in a way that Terry is getting fazed. Miletich thinks he's just trying to hang on and get out and I get that feeling a swell. Burrell stings him with a hard right and an uppercut as we pass 75 seconds remaining. Miletich: "If he could put 4 of those together, look out!" Ranallo: "Those single shots may be a factor of fatigue setting in." Terry puts him on the fence with 30 seconds left and double legs him, and the fight ends with Burrell trying to get back up.

9:36 PM ET. Cung Le gives Terry a hug in their corner. Here's Jimmy Lennon Jr. with the decision. AFTER THREE ROUNDS WE GO TO THE JUDGES - 29-28 TERRY, 29-28 BURRELL AND 29-28 FOR THE WINNER - ROCK AND ROLLER NAH-SHON BURRELL! Miletich and Shamrock are both in disbelief - the latter calling in a "slot machine victory" and Miletich noting that Burrell spent the majority of the fight on his back. Like my co-host Peter H always says, never leave it to the judges. That ends the Showtime Extreme portion - we'll be back for the main card at 10 ET!

10 PM ET. We are back for the main portion of tonight's card! Ranallo reminds us that five different men have held the middleweight belt, starting with broadcast partner Frank Shamrock, ending with the current champion defending tonight - Luke Rockhold. Shamrock runs down his thoughts on the division as it stands now. Ranallo throws it to Miletich who previews what Ranallo just called "a mix of veterans and young up-and-comers." The Facebook poll tonight is whether or not Rockhold can keep his title throughout 2012 - and if he gets throw the always dangerous 'Dean of Mean' Keith Jardine tonight he'll be well on his way. Robbie Lawler vs. Adlan Amagov, King Mo Lawal vs. Lorenz Larkin, Tyron Woodley vs. Jordan Mein and Tarec Saffiedine vs. Tyler Stinson round out our Showtime East card.

* Tyler Stinson (23-7; Kansas City, KS) vs. Tarec Saffiedine (11-3; Temecula, CA)

Stinson wers a WE RUN BJJ t-shirt and has his hair up in a bun, Kung-Fu movie style. Ranallo tells us Stinson would like to set a Strikeforce record for fastest knockout. 'The Sponge' makes his way out next in a Clinch Gear tee as Ranallo tells us he's fighting on his wife's birthday for the second time. Tale of the Tape! 25 each, 5'10.5" to 6'1.5", 170 each, 70.5" to 75.5" reach from Saffiedine to Stinson. Our referee for this welterweight bout is Steve Mazzagatti, so BRING IT ON C'MON!!

Round one begins at 10:13 PM ET. Stinson is in the dark trunks and Saffiedine the white. Stinson tries to live up to his promise with shots early but Saffiedine used head movement and his feet to get out of the way. Saffiedine is changing it up with leg kicks as well as strikes, while Stinson seems content to throw more punches and jabs. Saffiedine lands a right round head kick flush but Stinson walks through it. They continue to test each other as we pass the two minute mark. Stinson would like to back Saffiedine into the fence but each time he tries Saffiedine circles out. Saffiedine lands the round kick again. Miletich thinks Stinson's long hair might be protecting his head. Saffiedine got rocked with an elbow at 1:50 but is able to backpedal and survive, then put Stinson on his back, but Stinson turns it into an armbar attempt. Saffiedine escapes at 1:18 and backs away. Saffiedine is now bleeding from over his right eye. Stinson is trying to press his advantage by throwing lefts which Saffiedine may not be able to see due to his eye being jacked. He survives until the horn though.

Second round underway at 10:19 ET. Miletich: "Saffiedine no longer the predator, he's the prey, you can see that in his eyes. He needs to turn that around mentally." Saffiedine throws a solid head kick. Stinson answers with a flurry and a high kick of his own. At 3:43 he is pushing Saffiedine into the fence and it seems harder now for Saffiedine to get away than it did in the first. He shoots to get a takedown and completes it with 2:59 left, and that should go a long way toward helping his cause. Saffiedine tries to do damage from guard but Stinson is tying him up fairly well. Thankfully for Tarce, Steve Mazzagatti is not as quick to call for work as Herb Dean, so he's able to stay there until the horn ends the round. 10-9 Saffiedine.

They interview Miesha Tate between rounds and she thinks Ronda Rousey needs to be "sent to the back of the line" and that she hasn't earned the right to be in a title fight so early in her career. As we come back from the interview Mazzagatti has just stopped the fight for Saffiedine accidentally kicking Stinson in the pills 10 seconds in with his right foot, causing Miletich to quip "That's why they make steel cups." Saffiedine shows no fear of going back to the same kick after the restart, then gets another takedown and manages to keep the bucking bronco Stinson down on his back. If he can keep him there for four more minutes he may pull this one out, but as we've already seen earlier tonight "Never leave it to the judges." He's at least trying to do damage, which should help, and he gets in a few elbows at 2:50. Miletich thinks Stinson needs to power out and that Saffiedine is staying busy enough to avoid the stand-up. They're back up to their feet on Mazzagatti's orders with 55 seconds to go. Saffiedine nails Stinson with a knee. Both fighters are battered and bloody as we draw to a close with Stinson trying to pull out a last second hail mary, but Saffiedine stays on his bicycle until the horn.

10:33 PM ET. Here's Jimmy Lennon Jr. with the scores. AFTER THREE ROUNDS WE GO TO THE JUDGES FOR A SPLIT DECISION - 29-28 STINSON, 30-27 SAFFIEDINE, AND 29-28 FOR THE WINNER: TAREC 'SPONGE' SAFFIEDINE. Saffiedine tells Ranallo it wasn't his best fight ever but "it got the job done." He admits his plan was to take Stinson down in the later rounds after getting hurt in the first. "Happy birthday baby and thanks all the fans for coming. Thank you guys!"

* Jordan Mein (23-7; Lethbridge, Alberta, CA) vs. Tyron Woodley (9-0; Coconut Creek, FL)

The CMC MMA wearing Jordan Mein is the first to make his way to the cage, to the strains of the song "Simple Man." Ranallo reminds us this is only his second fight South of the Canadian border. Woodley on the other hand makes his way to the cage to the strains of "It's a Fight" dipped in Clinch Gear head to toe. Din Thomas is in his corner. Tale of the Tape for tonight's bout: 29 to 22, 5'8.5" to 6'0.5", 171 to 169 and 73" reach each from Woodley to Mein. Our referee for this welterweight bout is Chris Tognoni. Here we go!

Round one is underway at 10:45 ET. Mein is in the black trunks, Woodley the white. Woodley lands a body kick early. Miletich calls them both dangerous, Ranallo calls them two of the most promising fighters in MMA. Woodley seems to be getting stuck against the fence a bit but breaks away and tries to shoot for a single leg. Mein is able to keep his balance and fend it off. Tognoni tells them to stay busy. T-Wood just won't give up on his single leg attempt. Tognoni finally makes them break at 3:06 to go in the round. Woodley goes for another takedown and gets it at 2:30. "Woodley has just glued himself to Jordan Mein." Indeed he has. Mein finally gets away with 39 seconds left. An elbow from the guard and a knee from clinch in the closing seconds should secure a 10-9 for T-Wood.

Our second round begins at 10:52. Woodley lands an overhand right in the first thirty seconds after feinting a takedown, then gets the takedown 20 seconds later anyway. By 1:15 left to go the crowd is getting bored with Woodley holding Mein down. Their reaction seems fairly accurate from the cheap seats. Another 10-9.

Woodley has a takedown 15 seconds into the third. Rinse lather repeat at this point. With two minutes left the fans are booing loudly and even Ranallo thinks they're within their right to at this point. The judge decides a stand-up in the middle of a submission attempt at 1:20 is the right time to do it, as opposed to one or two minutes earlier. Woodley and Mein end up ties up on the fence with Woodley throwing knees. Mein tries a hip toss - that's too little too late my friend. Woodley grinds him for the last 10 seconds to get what should be a unanimous if boring decision. Jimmy Lennon Jr. makes it official at 11:04 ET. WE GO TO THE SCORECARDS FOR A SPLIT DECISION - 29-28 MEIN, 29-28 WOODLEY, AND MARCOS ROSALES SCORES IT 30-27 FOR THE WINNER AND STILL UNDEFEATED TYRON 'T-WOOD' WOODLEY.

* Lorenz Larkin (12-0; Riverside, CA) vs. King Mo Lawal (8-1; San Jose, CA)

Lawal's entrance is the more noteworthy of the two as he comes to the ring with a jewel encrusted crown and a blingin' chain swangin' back and forth around his neck. To be fair though Larkin does get some eyeballs by having a bright purple logo dyed into his hair on one side of his head. Tale of the Tape! 30 to 25, 6'0" to 5'10.5", 205 to 206 and 78" to 71.5" reach from Lawal to Larkin. Our referee for this light heavyweight bout is Kim Winslow. Here we go!

R1 is underway at 11:15 PM ET. Mo Lawal has the white MMA Elite trunks, while Larkin has on black shredded trunks. Lawal puts him on his back in the first 30 seconds. If this is another fight where the better wrestler holds down his opponent for 15 minutes, you may not even see a recap of the second or third round. Instead I may just cut out and go load up on caffeine so I can stay alert for the main event. Winslow stands them up with 70 seconds to go. Larkin isn't able to do anything with it before the horn.

R2 begins at 11:21 ET. Lawal has the takedown at 38 seconds. WINSLOW SAVES LARKIN AT 3:28 AFTER A SERIES OF UNBLOCKED HAMMERFISTS AND RIGHTS ON THE GROUND WITH NO RESPONSE. Jimmy Lennon makes it official - 1:32 OF THE SECOND ROUND FOR THE WINNER BY TKO: KING MO. Ranallo asks him whether he feels it was stopped late, but he says the ref was trying to give his opponent every chance, and he'd want the same benefit of the doubt in his place. "My next opponent is taking a beating like this too!" Congrats to King Mo for being the first wrestler tonight who actually used his wrestling skill to get a finish instead of a decision. Ranallo throws us to Showtime Extreme highlights from earlier in the night.

* Adlan Amagov (9-1-1; Fairfield, NJ) vs. Robbie Lawler (18-8, 1 NC; Davenport, IA)

Tale of the Tape! 29 to 25, 5'11" to 6'0", 186 each and 74" to 76" reach from Lawler to Amagov. Our ref is Steve Mazzagatti, so BRING IT ON C'MON.

R1 starts at 11:35 ET. Lawler is in the black trunks and Amagov the white. Lawler tries to smash Amagov early and he responds with a takedown - all in the first 15 seconds. Lawler gets free but Amagov secures a second takedown and takes the half guard before trying to sink in a choke at which point AMAGOV HITS AN ILLEGAL KNEE TO LAWLER'S HEAD WHILE HE WAS ON HIS KNEES. Mazzagatti announces to all judges that he'll be taking one point away for the knee to a head of a grounded opponent. They shake hands and resume action at 3:48 left. Moments later LAWLER GETS THE TKO VIA FLYING KNEE AND SHOTS ON THE GROUND. We'll get the official time momentarily. OFFICIAL TIME 1:48 OF R1 FOR THE WINNER BY TKO DUE TO STRIKES: 'RUTHLESS' ROBBIE LAWLER.

"(The knee) bothered me a little bit but not too much. I didn't want him to look cute with his spinning kicks, so I wanted to get right in there and bomb on him. I'm happy to win, I'm going back to the drawing board to improve my skills, and I'm looking to knock people out in 2012." He won't have much trouble with strikes like that!

11:46 PM ET. Here's Dana White. "We're going to put on great shows, live shows, television shows, everything you've come to expect from UFC you're going to see on Showtime from Strikeforce." Ranallo plugs March 3rd and Miesha Tate vs. 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey. "Two talented fighters. Mixed martial arts is so respectful and everybody loves each other, but when they don't that makes it a lot of fun." Ranallo asks for main event predictions. "It's an interesting fight. If (Rockhold) wins he's on an 8 fight streak, but Jardine has a lot of experience against the best in the world on the biggest stage." In the Facebook poll 51% of fans said Rockhold would last through 2012, and 49% said no. "I thought Brock Lesnar was gonna win last week, so what do I know?" Ranallo congratulates him on the new Strikeforce deal with Showtime and wishes him well on his way to Brazil for UFC 142.

* Luke Rockhold {C} vs. Keith Jardine (Strikeforce Middleweight Title Main Event)

Jardine comes out to the "Rocky" theme. Rockhold's music can't even be heard over the background noise in the building. Shamrock believes Rockhold is a better grappler than his opponent and that should be the key to victory. Tale of the Tape! 27 to 36, 6'3" to 6'1", 185 each, 77" to 76" reach from Rockhold to Jardine. Jimmy Lennon Jr. begins our official introduction for the main event at 11:54 PM ET. Jardine is 17-9-2 with 8 KO's and 2 submissions, hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico and making his Strikeforce middleweight debut. Rockhold is 8-1, 1 KO and 6 submissions, hailing from San Jose, California and he is defending his Strikeforce Middleweight Title for the first time. Our referee in charge is Herb Dean. Here we go!!

11:57 PM ET. Round one is underway! Rockhold is in the white trunks and Jardine is in the black. Jardine immediately starts throwing leg kicks. He seems really jittery - bouncing around either to confuse Rockhold or because he's feeling that froggy. Rockhold presses him into the fence but Jardine turns him around. Rockhold spins him back again and we have a clinch war on the fence 90 seconds in. Rockhold lands a nice elbow to the head as they break apart at the two minute mark. High kick by Rockhold misses, but a spinning back kick to the body does not. They trade a few shots and Jardine eats a right and seems a little bit stunned. They tie up briefly and break apart. Rockhold is now throwing as many kicks as Jardine. Jardine lands a couple of leg kicks. BIG RIGHT TO THE EAR MOMENTARILY KNOCKS JARDINE DOWN. Jardine throws a big right of his own but Rockhold walks through it. 50 seconds. JARDINE GETS TAGGED AGAIN AND HERB DEAN SAVES JARDINE WITH 35 SECONDS LEFT IN R1. We wait for Jimmy Lennon Jr. to make it official.

4:26 OF ROUND 1 AS HERB DEAN STOPS THE CONTEST DUE TO STRIKES FOR THE WINNER VIA TKO AND STILL THE STRIKEFORCE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION: LUKE ROCKHOLD!! Ranallo wants to know if Tim Kennedy is next. "I like fighting, I like getting paid, but I love competition and right now all the best guys are in UFC (so) I want to climb to the top I want to fight the best in the world so I want to bring over some top contenders. Let's see who the true #1 contender is. I believe I am and I'd like the chance to prove it." He BLEW OFF TIM KENNEDY COMPLETELY. "See you guys later tonight. Vegas baby!" AND THAT'S IT FOR STRIKEFORCE TONIGHT.
