Angrymarkette Spotlight: "The Oncoming Storm" Kalamity

{Ciara}If you are not familiar with Kalamity, then get familiar. Kalamity has managed to rise to top of women's wrestling in Canada within the past year. "The Oncoming Storm" made people take notice with her work in her home promotion NCW Femmes Fatales and her back and forth feud with trainer LuFisto, finally dethrowning LuFisto of the NCW Femmes Fatales Championship in October of 2011 and has since cemented her spot at the top of NCW Femmes Fatales and professional wrestling in Canada even being ranked number sixteen amongst men on the Top 50 Quebec Indy Wrestlers list in 2011.  Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada standing at 5'2" the "Reine de le Terrure"(Queen of Terror) reflects shades of  her trainer from her in ring intensity, in ring talent and also her toughness. The French-Canadian has made quite a "storm" in home Montreal and is hoping to cast a bigger storm over in Japan and in the United States. 

Kalamity fell into the world of wrestling by accident, after attending a shows with a former boyfriend she became hooked and started to manage wrestlers and eventually started training to become a professional wrestler within six months she would make her debut. Kalamity's early years in professional wrestling are unknown since there is little to no information about her early career. Kalamity (Malicia Kalamity)spent her early career wrestling for Great Championship Wrestling (GCW) even capturing their GCW Women's Championship on two occasions and she also appeared for other wrestling promotions based in the Quebec area and even had a one off appearance in Jersey All Pro-Wrestling losing to LuFisto in a number one contender's match for the JAPW Women's Championship. 

On September 5, 2009, Kalamity debuted for  the Montreal, Ouebec based NCW Femmes Fatales on their inaugural show defeating Roxie Cotton, Anna Minouhska and Mary Lee Rose in a fatal four way match. At Femmes Fatales II on February 6, 2010, LuFisto and Cheerleader Melissa defeated Kalamity and Cat Power in a no-dq tag team match after the original mainevent of Kalamity vs Cheerleader Melissa was interrupted by interference by Cat Power and LuFisto. NCW Femmes Fatales III on June 5, 2010, Kalamity defeated Sweet Cherrie in the first round of the NCW Femmes Fatales Championship tournament, she would lose to LuFisto in the second on October 23, 2010 at Femmes Fatales IV. Mercedes Martinez defeated Kalamity on March 12, 2011 at Femmes Fatales V, approximately a year later Kalamity would defeat Mercedes Martinez retaining her NCW Femmes Fatales Championship at Femmes Fatales VIII on March 10, 2012. On June 4, 2011, Kalamity teamed with Portia Perez in a losing effort to Cheerleader Melissa and then current WSU Champion Mercedes Martinez at NCW Femmes Fatales VI. 

Kalamity debuted for SHIMMER on October 1, 2011 losing to the also debuting Hailey Hatred. She would team with Hailey Hatred on SHIMMER volume forty-two losing to the team of Melanie Cruise and Mena Libra. The following day Kalamity scored her first victory in SHIMMER against joshi Tomoka Nakagawa in a singles match. Kalamity finally captured the NCW Femmes Fatales Championship on October 8, 2011 after defeating current reigning champion LuFisto at NCW Femmes Fatales VII "World Summit." March 17, 2012, the newly formed duo of Kalamity and Hailey Hatred defeated another new tag team of LuFisto and Kana at the SHIMMER weekend tapings. The duo would earn a shot at the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship that weekend but would come up short losing to then current champions Ayumi Kurihara and Ayako Hamada. Kalamity would go on to earn another singles victory against KC Spinelli on the next day of SHIMMER volume forty-seven through forty-eight tapings on March 18, 2012. She and Hailey Hatred would earn another tag team lose to MsChif and Christina Von Eerie. On July 7, 2012, Kalamity faces one of her biggest challenges to date as she takes on "The Queen of Wrestling" and current one-half of the SHIMMER Tag Team Champions Sara Del Rey in a championship match for Kalamity's NCW Femmes Fatales Championship at NCW Femmes Fatales IX.
