Angrymarkette Newsfeed will be updated throughout the week so keep checking back for updates.

News Bits/Rumors:

*On Sunday May 20, 2012, WWE Divas Champion Layla retained her championship against Beth Phoenix atWWE's Over the Limit PPV. The match started out with the Glamazon taking control demonstrating her power against the much smaller Layla, at one point slammed Layla on the mat from the the top of the turnbuckle(ouch!). Beth would continue to dish out the pain focusing on Layla's injured knee, Layla would finally get her comeback reversing a military press into a ddt. Beth Phoenix would once again take control but this time Layla got in some offense, countering the Glam Slam into a rollup, but Beth Phoenix(death to various rollups) would finally learn how to reverse the rollup and pick up a two count. The match ended with Layla hitting her Lay-Out on Phoenix for the win. The match was clean, told a story and the way Layla sold her knee gave the match emotion. WWE only promoted this match on RAW, guessing storylines for the Divas Championship will take place on RAW. Elsewhere in Diva Land, Kaitlyn and Maxine battled it out on NXT in a short match, Maxine debuted new ring gear(I prefer her old gear) which doesnt make her standout from the pack. Its time to move these two onto a new feud this one is just plain tired by now. As I mentioned above, two FCW Divas debuted on the NXT tapings, I'm hearing this was a good bout by both. Paige and Sofia Cortez have had great matches against each other down in FCW over the past couple of months before forming an alliance as the anti-divas referring to themselves as Vixens. Speaking of FCW, I'm also hearing the triple threat match between Sofia Cortez, Paige and Caylee Turner(WWE Tough Enough) was a standout match during the tapings. No Divas action on WWE Superstars or Smackdown.

In case youre wondering where Kharma(Awesome Kong) is, there is reports going around that she has been ready for a return for a while now, but with the recent developments in theWWE Divas Championship storyline, WWE creative has nothing for her. WWE announced that starting July 23, 2012, Monday Night RAW will be expanding to three hours long on a permanent basis. Kelly Kelly and current WWE Divas Champion Layla made Maxim's Hot 100 List, former Divas Champion Kelly Kelly comes in at #38 while former Extreme Expose partner ranks in at #95. Layla debuts on the list this year thanks to Maxim receiving a high number of write-in votes, forcing Maxim to take notice of the former Miami HEAT dancer or as Maxim says "This British-born dancer, model and WWE Diva could easily knock any of us off of our feet. We feel a little light-headed just thinking about it." Former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler is also ranked on the list at #51. Nicole and Brianna Garcia(The Bella Twins) joinedDivaDirt for an exclusive post-WWE interview(great interview I must say). The twin duo discussed their decision for their departure, their WWE career, perception from fans of being just models and even discussed the rumored return of Kharma that was slated to happen, but never did. You can check out the interview by heading over to DivaDirt.com. WWE Diva Rosa Mendes was involved in a multi-car crash in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday.

The current manager of former WWE Tag Team Champions, was stopped a red light when another car struck her, six cars in total were involved in the accident, Mendes suffered serious whiplash but was not injured during the crash. Rosa took to her Twitter to comment on the accident: "My neck and back were really hurting. My body is my job. I was so scared that I was not going to be able to wrestle. I was in a lot of pain.Nothing's broken. I feel like I can wrestle but the whole right side of my neck and back have a burning sensation." Ashley Johnson, daughter of Ric Flair has been signed to a developmental contract with WWE. As I reported a few weeks ago, Ashley has decided to follow in the footsteps of her brothers and father and undergo training to become a professional wrestler. Ashley is expected to join WWE's Florida based training facility in the summer. Sofia Cortez(Ivelisse Velez from Tough Enough/ Juliet the Huntress on the Indys) and Paige(Britani Knight) debuted for the third taping of WWE NXT last Thursday during the NXT/FCW tapings at Full Sail University. In caseyou havent heard WWE is now taping FCW and NXT at Full Sail University, meaning the NXT brand is no longer traveling with the rest of WWE roster. There is no official date of when their match will air at the moment.

*The semi finals for the PWWA Interim Title tournament will take place on June 15, 2012, with Evie taking on "The Rate Tank" Kellie Skater and Jessie McKay taking on Shazza McKenzie. KC Cassidy and Nikita Naridian(Kellyanne English) made their Canadian debuts for Prairie Wrestling Alliance's "Mayhem," Kellyanne English picked up the victory. Both ladies recently ventured over from their native Austrailia to undergo further training at Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

*As I reported earlier last week,Women Superstars Uncensored(WSU) announced that they had been sold to an independent buyer. Well the plans had fallen through as the buyer backed out at the last minute. WSU promoter Sean McCaffrey is looking to sell the promotion citing personal reasons. WSU announced that they would possibly hold a press conference last Friday announcing the new promoter. After announcing the plans fell through with the original buyer WSU posted this update via Twitter: "Original buyer backed out today, we are negotiating with two other parties, one being a prominent indy promotion to buy… But to answer all the DM’s, reason I personally leaving is I have other issues in life to address right now that are time consuming. I do not want to put out a half ass effort, and if I can’t run the company at the level i want and used to, because of other matters. It is time to hand the keys to someone who can dedicate the time, energy and passion that I was able to as owner… But end of the day, health issues, job opportunities and newborn babies come before wrestling, & I don’t want to 1/2 ass anything…" McCaffrey insists that the sale of WSU will not affect the working relationship between WSU and nCw Femmes Fatales in the foreseeable future. McCaffrey has even gone on to say that he “won’t sell to “some mark”, we want the company to continue to succeed under strong leadership.” WSU promises to let everyone know the state of WSU on Wednesday.

*TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim has made history as the longest reigning TNA Knockouts Champion, marking 190 days surpassing Madison Rayne's 188 day reign. Congrats Gail! TNA and Spike TV announced that Impact Wrestling will be going LIVE! every week starting May 31, 2012, on the same night but with a new time of 8pm ET. Brooke Hogan has joined TNA as the Executive in Charge of the Knockouts division.

*WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch has once again no-showed an appearance this time for an in -studio radio appearance for VOC Nation last Wednesday, VOC Nation hosts issued an apology to fans during their broadcast.

*WWE Hall of Famer Wendi Richter was inducted into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame over the weekend. Congrats Wendi!

*OVW Women's Champion Taeler Hendrix(Nicolye's favorite) joined Larry Csonka and Steve Cook(of 411Mania.com/Wrestling) on 411 Wrestling Radio to discuss the latest happenings in her career.

*Big Time Pro Wrestling has announced their first matches on the card for "LadyMania" on May 26th. The Canadian NINJA Portia Perez will be taking on Addy Starr and Persephone Vice challenges Melissa Coates in a battle of power.

*Over the weekend PWInsider broke news of a new women's promotion on the rise in Florida. The anonymous promotion is being formed by Dave Prazak(co-founder of SHIMMER). Prazak wont be handling the load of another promotion by himself, former Full Impact Pro promoter and longtime SHIMMER DVD editor Sal Hamaoui will have a hand in helping with handling of talent and IPPV presentation, Lexie Fyfe(owner of SlamminLadies), a current agent for SHIMMER will also be helping with talent and serve as a liaison between SHIMMER and the new promotion, Daffney will be working closely with Prazak and Hamaoui securing new talent and also will be involved in some of the promotions storylines, Vice President of DGUSA and owner of EVOLVE Gabe Sapolsky will be involved as supervisory-promotional role and Dontay Brown of Florida Underground Wrestling will be apart of senior management. The anonymous promotion will have monthly IPPVS streamed via WWNLive.com, the SHIMMER product will be pushed on the IPPVS and continuity with storylines will be carried over to the promotion. A few days prior to this news, SHIMMER teased at some developments happening via Facebook: "Some pretty cool developments for our fans in Florida. Announcements soon." The talent will most likely be locals on the independent scene in Florida, giving more opportunities to more up and coming stars. Sal Hamaoui commented on the new venture saying "I've been involved with SHIMMER from the very start and I'm very proud what Dave (Prazak) and everyone at SHIMMER have done to legitimize woman's pro wrestling. I'm extremely happy to be part of this expansion and very excited to be working with such a talented and driven group of exceptional people." The promotion is looking to run monthly events in Ybor City, Florida and will be looking for additional markets in Florida. The logo and name of the new promotion will be revealed within the next week. The promotion will launch their first IPPV on July 20, 2012.
