News Bits/Rumors:

*This past week must have the week of departures I must say, with one WWE Diva quitting the WWE and a TNA Knockout bowing out on TNA, change must be in the air. Angelina Love was granted her release from TNA. The five-time TNA Knockouts Champion broke the news via Twitter saying: “To all my wonderful fans, just want to let you know I have been granted my release from TNA. It was completely amicable parting of ways and I want to thank TNA and all of its employees for the wonderful journey I’ve had there over the years. Now I’m on to the next amazing chapter of my life! If you are looking to book me please contact John at john@spectacularsignings.com Thank you so much!”

Better known on the independents scene as Angel Williams, she originally made a couple of appearances for TNA back in 2004, Williams was brought back when TNA decided to form a women's division in 2007. Angel spent her early years in TNA as a member of The Beautiful People with Velvet Sky and later Madison Rayne. Williams would go on to hold the TNA Knockouts Championship on five occasions. This past year Angel became involved in an angle with former WWE Diva Katie Lea now known as "Winter," the angle consisted of Winter first appearing as a figment of Love's imagination then becoming reality, Winter would eventually drug Angelina Love as she would turn on Velvet Sky and align herself with Winter, the storyline seemed to have some potential but as time went on it became more creepy than anything.

Winter and Love would capture the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship and their partnership would be phased out. Love would be underutilized as time went on, it seemed that TNA had no plans for her. Love's character would appear to have vanished from the Impact tapings, making very small appearances and working on Xplosion, but would regularly compete on the house show circuit and for TNA's Ring Ka King. You would think with her being a five-time champion, a huge fan following, and the capability to be a face or heel that TNA would enter Love into a feud with the returning Gail Kim or the current TNA Knockouts Champion Brooke Tessmacher. Then again maybe its the case of TNA having no fresh ideas for the record-setting champion or Angel just wanting to move on, as she has been in the wrestling business for twelve years now. Besides becoming the trending topic on Twitter, Angel already has a booking coming up with NEO Wrestling. Williams makes her return to the promotion after an eight year hiatus, Angel will appear at NEO's "A Midsummer's Nightmare" on July 28, 2012.

Last week news broke that WWE Diva Maxine had quit the WWE. Mike Johnson of PWInsider broke the news of the Diva's departure: "The word making the rounds is that she had been frustrated with a number of things, including not being offered a guaranteed deal and not having the chance to prove herself on TV beyond the WWE NXT level." Signed in 2009, Karlee Leilani Perez has spent the past couple of years training in FCW and appeared on NXT season three as Alicia Fox's rookie. Since her return to NXT last year, Maxine's character of the no nonsense, take charge, my way or the highway, independent woman has certainly helped her stand out from the rest of Divas, as her true personality shined through. Not only did Karlee possess the credible mic skills, but her in ring work had stepped up to another level, surpassing some of the other divas on the roster. I've been questioning WWE's creative direction when it came the Maxine character, instead of making her a viable manager to a WWE Superstar or giving her a broader role on any of the brands, Maxine was left on NXT to become involved in love triangle with Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis and lets be honest this angle was not doing anyone any good, it continued to drag on til the end of the season. Stuck in a drawn out angle and the same match every week, with two appearances on WWE Superstars and two if you blink you'll miss it appearances on RAW, Maxine didnt seem to get the fair shake, or maybe she didnt wait for the opportunity. Some may say her deciding to quit instead of waiting it out is not wise on her part, but folks Gail Kim waited it out for how long and what happened? Karlee confirmed her abrupt departure from the WWE via Twitter: "We have come to terms on my release. Its been a ride I want to thank @wwe for the experience and understanding on my feelings." Karlee even apologized to her fans saying quote "I want to take all of you with me...so I hope you all understand why i made my decision. I want to do nothing but get the real chance to entertain all of you...sometimes you have to make that chance for yourself!! Its not easy saying goodbye. But there are other options at wich I can do. To my fans you may not see me on the WWE screen but on another(; "

Clearly she feels that she has let her fans down, but as a fan of Karlee's I support her decision, sometimes in life you have to make hard decisions, if you want change you got to make the "change" in order for a change to happen. Folks, sometimes waiting around too long will do more damage than improve. Karlee was frustrated with the lack of opportunities, not being given a clear direction of her character or having a guaranteed deal. Within the past two years WWE has lost majority of the Divas roster due to them leaving on their own accord or WWE deciding that after two years of doing nothing they have no use for them anymore, its seems to be a growing trend as of late. Now before speculation begins, Karlee has made it clear that she did not quit the WWE to go to another company, it was her own decision to leave. Karlee's future in the pro-wrestling business is up in the air at the moment, whether she tries her hand at still working on the independents or take the chance and move to Japan and try her hand at breaking into the joshi puroresu world(Which I would recommend!) this is all up to her. Karlee has since changed her Twitter to @KarleeLeilani and indicated that she is looking to pursue an acting career.

*Elsewhere in Diva Land, AJ will be the sepcial referee in the WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank, as champion CM Punk defends his championship against AJ's former beau Daniel Bryan. Speaking of AJ, WWE Hall of Famer Jim "JR" Ross named AJ as the breakout star of the year. Ross said the following rabout the New Jersey born Diva in his blog: “Who is the break out performer in WWE so far in 2012? Is there really any debate? It has to be AJ who has taken the opportunities provided her, the creative input she’s received and has made her role bigger than I’m sure many perceived that it would ever become. Obviously, AJ waited for her opportunity and maximized her minutes no matter how few or how insignificant that they may have seemed at the time.” JR has been praising AJ's recent character development in recent interviews. WWE officials are said to be high on AJ's character and feel that she can become the next big thing. Things look bright in the future of AJ, especially if you got a Hall of Famer and the WWE officials on your side.

WWE Diva Alicia Fox turned 26 years old on Saturday. Happy Birthday! Former SHIMMER and PWWA Austrailia star Tenille Tayla is set to debut in WWE's developmental territory FCW. A few weeks back I reported that Tenille's trainer Lance Storm has said that the potential Diva was not signed by the WWE, no sole reason for this. Tenille was signed by the WWE after impressing officials during a tryout back in March 2011. Tenille's debut in FCW was slated for January 2012, but that debut would be delayed as Tenille was recovering from surgery on pre-existing shoulder injuries that have been a problem her entire career. Tenille thanked fans for their support via Facebook: "Thank you to all my family and friends for the love and support. It's been a long hard journey but happy and proud to say I am now getting a chance to fulfil my dream of not only living in the USA but working for the WWE. I am so excited to start this new journey in my life...Can hardly believe it still! :D Hellooooo Tampa!! Let's get this show on the road!" A new FCW Divas Champion was crowned during a live event over the weekend, former Tough Enough contestant Caylee Turner ended the reign of third generation Diva Raquel Diaz, the longest reign for the championship. FCW head trainer, Bill DeMott confirmed the news via Twitter: “New #FCW Divas Champion @WWECayleeTurner !!!!! What a show we are having!” Over on RAW, AJ teamed up with World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus to take on the duo of Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero in a mixed tag team match. Before the match Daniel Bryan gave AJ a rose, AJ was not moved by this as she bit the head of the rose off.

AJ would pick up the win for her team after knocking Vickie out with the Shining Wizard, AJ goes backstage to catch WWE Champion CM Punk on the phone making her become the psycho girlfriend "Who are you talking to?" AJ becomes crushed to find out that Punk not only didnt see her match but didnt even realize she had one. Former Executive Administrator Eve finally makes her return as she tries to play nice with Teddy Long backstage, Eve sees AJ sulking and decides to tell AJ that taking her route of using men to get what she wants only works for adults, AJ tells Eve just watch and see. In the main event, AJ came out during the match to distract CM Punk or Daniel Bryan as neither man paid her any attention, AJ gets a table from under the ring and sets it up and climbs up the turnbuckle, she gazes at the table threatening to throw herself through the table Daniel Bryan and Punk come out the ring to reason with her. AJ plants one on Punk and pushes him off the turnbuckle into Bryan through the table. The show ends with AJ smiling and doing her YES pose. WWE Divas Champion Layla is set to team up with The Great Khali to take on the tandum of Aksana and Antonio Cesaro on the live edition of WWE Smackdown on Tuesday. *WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch will be taking part in the newest installment of Kayfabe Commentaries YouShoot series : "I am ready for your YouShoot questions...but what makes you think YOU'RE ready for my answers?! Oh what will I say, what will I say? What the fans want...the fans will get!" If you like to send your questions for Tammy to answer go to KayfabeCommentaries.com for more information on how you can do so, deadline is July 15, 2012.

*Former WWE Diva Chyna had her Twitter account suspended over the weekend. Joanie "Chyna" Laurer had posted numerous messages threatening violence to a woman she believed has stolen her toy poodle, Laurer also revealed personal information about the woman. Who would of thought that threatening bodily harm was okay because your poodle was missing? This is the last I will report any news concerning Chyna unless its positive.

*Former WWE Divas Champion Eve is Made Womanmagazine's "Woman of the Month." Eve talks about her projects outside the WWE, wanting to be a role model for women and becoming alcohol free in order to protect the dignity of her own brand: “I stopped drinking three years ago and have had to turn down sponsorships because they don’t fit my brand.” You can check out the article at this link: http://www.madewomanmag.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=361:made-woman-of-the-month-eve&Itemid=168

*Io Shirai has been cleared of any drug smuggling charges and is set to return to working for her home promotion Stardom over in Japan. Shirai and now former boyfriend Nosawa were arrested last month and charged with drug posession when seventy-five grams of marijuana was found hidden in paintings the couple recently received as gifts while on tour in Mexico. Both denied any knowledge of the marijuana being in the portraits and were held in jail, Io was released on bail and held a press conference last week to publicly apologize to fans and everyone at Stardom. Even though this arrest could leave a huge blemish on the young career of Io's, she still wants to work and regain everyone's trust back, which might take a long time to regain.

*Former WWE Diva, SHIMMER, SMASH, WSU and former OVW Women's Champion Serena Deeb turned 26 years old on Friday. Happy Birthday!

*Taeler Hendrix won a TNA contract on last week's TNA Impact. The former OVW Women's Champion participated in TNA's Gut Check the week previous, in the end Taeler survive the Gut Check and earned a contract. Many people have speculated that Taeler is not "seasoned" enough to earn this opportunity, but if she is not given the opportunity then she will be "seasoned" enough to take it. Folks the professional wrestling business is give and take. Congrats Taeler I believed in you!

*Anarchy Championship Wrestling will hold "From Innocence to Insanity 6" on July 22, 2012, for the first time ever former tag team partners Lady Poison and Rachel Summerlyn will square off in the ring. Lady Poison, better known as Jessica James and Rachel Summerlyn used to be tag team partners, "Rachel and Jessica's Eggcellent Tag Team," appearing in ACW and SHIMMER respectively, the ladies would soon split as Jessica's split personality Lady Poison turned on Rachel after a match. Summerlyn celebrated a birthday on Sunday, turning 26 years old. Happy Birthday!

*Over the weekend, CMLL had a ten-luchadora Luchas de Apuestas steel cage match. CMLL World Women's Champion Marcela, Tiffany, Lady Apache, Dark Angel, Estrellita, Amapola, La Seductora, Goya Kong, Dalys and Princesa Blanca were the participants in the match with the stipulation being the last one out of the cage either loses her hair or their mask. Last week Dark Angel said she was willing to put her hair on the line to get her hands on former partner Lady Apache. In the end, Goya Kong was unmasked as 25 year old Gloria Alvarado Nava.

*"The Queen of Wrestling" Sara Del Rey returned to Ring of Honor during the weekend tapings in Baltimore, Maryland. Del Rey has not appeared in ROH in over a year since the company's partnership with Sinclair Broadcasting. Without spoiling anything, lets just say there is no telling if Del Rey's return is a sign of ROH having some interest in forming a women's division or if Del Rey will be making sporadic appearances in the promotion as she did before.  A few months back Del Rey said in an interview with DivaDirt that ROH has expressed interest in starting their own women's division and wanted her to be the head of the division. Besides popping back up in ROH, the rightfully dubbed "Queen of Wrestling"  has been busy as of late. Besides taking part in the debut IPPV of SHINE Wrestling where she will taking on “actual competition” in former WWE Women's Champion Jazz, Sara Del Rey gets a shot at Eddie Kingston's Grand Championship at CHIKARA's "The Great Escape" on July 28, 2012. Over the years Sara Del Rey has not shown but has proven that not only can she dominate the women in wrestling but also the males. Will the first-ever SHIMMER Champion take Kingston to his limit and walk out with the gold? We'll have to find out on July 28th.
