7:00 PM ET. Here we go!

* Estevan Payan (13-3, 1 NC) vs. Michael Bravo (7-3) - Lightweight Bout

Payan has trunks with the Italian flag colors, while Bravo is in black trunks with red legs and trim. A small but enthusiastic crowd is already in the building for the night's first fight. Bravo nearly goes down from a leg kick as we pass the halfway point of R1. Payan is starting to pick up the pace with striking and just missed with a head kick. Bravo closes the distance and twice narrowly avoids a big right hand. One corner keeps screaming "his leg is done - punch and kick - let's go - beat up his other leg I don't care." Payan is getting a little too cocky and stalking Bravo with his hands down. Even the crowd is telling him not to drop his hands. First round ends in a clinch with some dirty boxing.

Bravo lands a sold body kick as we near the first minute. Now it's Bravo's hands that are way down low. Payan seems to be hoping for a ref stoppage from an accidental eyepoke but gets nothing. Payan and Bravo end up on the fence and then Bravo steps back to throw shots, AND PAYAN CLOCKS HIM WITH AN OVERHAND RIGHT. The ref doesn't stop the action though and Bravo fights to get his wits back, while Payan tries to push him down and elbow him in the face. Payan lets him back up, bloodies his lip with an overhand right, and just misses finishing the fight with an uppercut. Bravo gets up and eats another shot that wobbles him, only the fence is holding him up, the ref makes a mercy save and THIS FIGHT IS OVER. Official time forthcoming.

Jimmy Lennon Jr. makes it official - 4:01 OF R2 FOR THE WINNER BY TKO ESTEVAN PAYAN.

* Adriano Martins (23-6) vs. Jorge 'JG' Gurgel (17-8) - Lightweight Bout

Martins is dancing to his entrance song as he makes his way to the cage, with lyrics in Portuguese. He's wearing orange trunks with black trim. Gurgel gets a nice reaction from the Energy Arena crowd as he makes his way out to "My Time" by Fabolous. He's wearing black trunks with pink lettering. The fight is underway at 7:26 ET. Gurgel is very energetic, bouncing around on his feet until he lands a solid body kick, but Martins knocks him down with a punch and tries to overwhelm him on the ground. Gurgel is able to weather the storm, then nearly catches Martins with an upkick. Martins finally backs off and lets Gurgel to his feet. His corner is unhappy that as he circles away from Martins he winds up "behind the line" with his back to the fence. Martins knocks him down again and this time lets him right back up. Gurgel's corner wants his hands "glued to his face" so he doesn't get clipped again. Gurgel's face is turning red. Martins just misses being caught on the chin - it may have partially landed. Gurgel's corner keeps calling for leg kicks. Martins catches him with a couple of hard shots to the head but if anything Gurgel is getting used to the feel. It's a 10-9 round for Martins but Gurgel should be happy he gets a R2.

Gurgel's corner yells "hands up, chin down" as we kick off the second stanza. Martins is on attack right away and Gurgel is doing his best to keep him off. Every time Gurgel lands a leg kick his corner man is overjoyed. Martins with a solid body kick. People in the crowd are starting to imitate the "AYYYY" from Gurgel's corner for each successful kick. Gurgel may have wanted a groin kick stoppage but the ref said to keep going. Martins is having less success finding the distance, and if Gurgel keeps landing the kicks he may win this round at least on strikes. Martins would love to keep him on the fence, but Gurgel keeps slipping away. Martins finally closes the distance at 0:50 but can't get to Gurgel. Martins trips him to the ground on a leg kick but with 10 seconds left in R2 can't take advantage. I've got this 19-19 going into the third.

Gurgel lands a leg kick at the start of R3 as loud as a gunshot. Martins suddenly seems less sure about getting into Gurgel's range, but trips him to the ground on a leg kick. Gurgel teases the upkick and Martins is unwilling to dive into his guard. The ref stands Gurgel up at 3:36 to go. Gurgel lands a head kick and Martins nods at him like "Yeah that was a good one." Martins is finding his range again, and Gurgel's face is bright red. There are a few scattered boos from people in the crowd impatient as the two circle the cage for a half minute. "90 seconds you gotta pick it up baby" is the advice from Gurgel's corner. He's been letting Martins control where the fight goes most of this round. With 50 seconds left they start trading shots and neither one drops, then Martins breaks off. Gurgel's leg kicks won't save him now. Martins is going for the kill with under 20 seconds left. The two trade a fist bump at the end but I think Martins will be the happier when the cards are read.

Jimmy Lennon Jr. is here to make it official. UNANIMOUS DECISION - 29-28 X2 AND 30-27 ALL FOR THE WINNER ADRIANO MARTINS.

8:08 PM ET. Time for our first Showtime Exteme fight!

* Anthony Smith (17-7) vs. Roger Gracie (5-1) - Middleweight Bout

Smith is in the gray trunks and Gracie is in the white. 'Big' John McCarthy is the referee for our first televised bout, and we're underway at 8:12 ET. The crowd is pretty evenly split between cheering for both men, so one fan yells out a "C'MON BIG BOY!!" Smith is trying to work a jab but Gracie avoids it well. Gracie gets ahold of a leg but Smith is able to escape. Smith lands a good leg kick and follows with some lefts. Gracie is calm and composed as he follows Smith around the cage. Smith's best weapon so far is the leg kick, but I suspect Gracie is just eating them to get a takedown. Big John stops the fight for an accidental shot and gives Smith a quiet verbal warning on the fence. Body shot by Smith. Jab to the face. Nice 1-2 by Smith at the round's end. Surprisingly, 10-9 Smith.

Both men touch up for R2 at 8:19. Gracie is trying to push forward but Smith uses his hands to keep Gracie at bay. Smith ducks an overhand right and so does Gracie. Gracie swarms for a takedown and Smith has the whizzer. Gracie tuns around and dumps him to the ground with a double leg at 3:25 to an enthusiastic ROAR from the Energy Arena. Now the jiu-jitsu game begins. Gracie passes to side and the crowd applauds. He's got full mount at 2:18 and I think they can smell a finish coming in the building. He bloodies Smith with a shot to the head, slips an arm around his neck, and BIG JOHN STEPS IN FOR THE SUBMISSION.

Jimmy Lennon Jr. makes this official. 3:16 OF R2 VIA ARM TRIANGLE CHOKE - ROGER GRACIE.

* Kurt Holobaugh (8-0) vs. Pat Healy (30-15) - Lightweight Bout

Holobaugh is wearing black trunks that say CHEGG on the front and SalesForce on the back. Healy makes his way to the cage in plain white trunks and with reggae music rocking in the background. This fight is underway at 8:33. Holobaugh comes out swinging right away and may have caught Healy with at least one shot that caused him to clinch up. They spin around on the fence and Holobaugh goes for body shots at close range, then backs off to throw a leg kick. His left jab looks good. Healy grabs a leg, Holobaugh tries to slip away, but Healy gets him to the ground looking to pass. Healy steps over his head but Holobaugh grabs the foot and twists for all he's worth. Healy recovers and sits down on him, throwing right hands to the head, then winds up back in side control with two minutes to go. Holobaugh pushes him back to guard and looks to get back up off the fence, which he does, but Healy is already driving for another takedown. Holobaugh does a very good job fending it off and even gets a reversal - almost a side slam - and momentarily is on top until Healy sweeps and they both return to the feet. Healy is heavy on his back and looking for a RNC. Holobaugh survives but it's a 10-9 round for Healy.

Healy has the takedown early in R2 and is trying to get into position on Holobaugh's back. He's riding high though and might just slip off - and he does at 3:10. Holobaugh is a very crafty fighter and not quitting but Healy manages to get back on top with a leg around his neck, almost sitting on his face - but that's how he got heel hooked the last time. Holobaugh manages to push him away back to guard and Healy's corner calls for elbows to finish the round. Another 10-9.

Both men come out aggressive for the third and final round. Holobaugh lands some solid body shots and one to the chin while clinchedd. Healy needs to be careful as Holobaugh is gaining confidence in the strikes - and as I say that Healy looks for the takedown and gets it. Holobaugh is almost turtled and pushing off the fence with his feet, but Healy is not letting him roll away or get out. Holobaugh manages to take the back off an attemted armbar and his corner screams "start wiggling let's get out of there." Healy winds up on his back as the corner yells "roll that hand out of there let's go." Healy is now sitting on top of him and looking for the submission. The ref is taking a close look. Holobaugh survives but Healy is still riding as Holobaugh gets back up. This fight and particularly this third round has been a human chess match. Healy rides a submission attempt to the top mount and is throwing ground and pound at the horn. He should get a unanimous decision.

29-28, 30-27 X2 ALL FOR PAT 'BAM BAM' HEALY.

* Trevor Smith (10-2) vs. Tim Kennedy (14-4) - Middleweight Bout

Smith is in the camou trunks and Kennedy the solid black. Our referee in charge for this contest is Mark Carter. We're underway at 9 PM ET. Smith goes for two takedowns and gets the third. Kennedy gets back up and he gets the 4th. He finally fights his way back to his feet. Kennedy tags 'Hot Sauce' when it gets back to the feet and he wisely takes it back down to the ground as Kennedy's corner yells "3 minutes Tim!" Kennedy gets back up, goes for his own takedown, and the two break apart when it's a stalemate. Kennedy lands a vicious body kick and tries to follow with knees but HOT SAUCE HITS A LOW BLOW AND THE REF CALLS FOR TIME. Kennedy recovers quickly and we resume with 90 seconds left. Smith charges Kennedy into the fence going for a takedown but Kennedy turns it around and takes his back before they disengage. Kennedy grabs the plum and lands some knees that excite the crowd. He has Hot Sauce on the ground for a moment but he escapes. Kennedy works him over even with his back on the fence until the horn.

With a touch of gloves R2 is underway at 9:07. Hot Sauce immediately lands a nice left to the head. Leg trip takedown by Smith has Kennedy on the fence but he pops up quickly. It looked for a second like Hot Sauce was grabbing the trunks but he let go before the ref saw it. Kennedy's corner is telling him to chain together takedown attempts because he'll get one sooner or later - and they're right. He gets it 75 seconds in. Hot Sauce tries to get away as Kennedy goes for a mount, but Kennedy stays on his back and elbows his side. Kennedy is making Smith suffer here - punishing the body repeatedly. The ref decides they've been ties up on the ground too long, stands them up, and Smith instantly goes for a takedown. He may have a leg, but Kennedy has his back and is doing damage. Hot Sauce stands up to get out of it and is taken down himself to end the round.

Hot Sauce has nothing to lose in this third round and he knows it. Kennedy's corner keeps calling for 3 punch combos. Smith drives for a takedown and eats a knee. Kennedy cranks on the neck as Smith goes for another takedown and SMITH TAPS OUT. Official time 1:36 of the third round. Noons vs. Couture main events Extreme next!

* KJ Noons (10-4) vs. Ryan Couture (5-1) - Lightweight Bout - Extreme Main Event

Couture makes his way to the cage in red trunks, while Noons saunters down in the black trunks to 2Pac's "All Eyez On Me." Don Turnage is our referee for this fight. We're underway at 9:22 ET! Early on Noons is jabbing, Couture is circling, they finally tie up and Couture throws a knee to the head prompting a crowd member to yell TAKE HIS HEAD OFF RYAN. Noons seems unfazed and is tagging Couture when he dares get close. Solid right hook by Noons. Uppercut. Left hook. This round is slowly slipping away from Couture. Flush to the face. KJ's corner calls for body shots too. Couture finally lands one shot to the face and the crowd erupts. KJ's corner: "He's gonna panic and try to take you down! Look for it and catch it." KJ blasts him in the face again. In a wild final ten seconds, Couture spins around for a kick that lands, but then Noons takes him down as time expires. 10-9 Noons.

KJ is the superior striker and it shows as this fight goes on - he is landing a right hook and an uppercut with impunity. Couture's best hope is to set up something with kicks, and it appears he just did because Noons has his face bloodied and suddenly he's spinning around like Cung Le, but Noons responds to the blood dripping down his forehead over his nose with an all out BLITZKREIG of strikes on Couture, and though he hasn't made him fall yet Couture's now bloody too. This is quickly becoming an epic fight. Both guys settle down for about 30 seconds until Noons lands a big shot, Couture charges forward and lands a couple, and even gets a spinning heel kick. We've got a minute left. The jabs keep on finding Couture's face. Couture lands a shot of his own. Couture just missing with a spinning headkick and throwing a jumping knee. Noons throws one of his own and he's smiling. Both guys are getting into this and the crowd ERUPTS at the end of R2.

Noons goes to his bread and butter with the jab to start R3. Couture answers with kicks and isn't afraid to stay in the pocket. They nearly knock heads as they both go for a jab. Couture has a takedown for a second, Noons tries to slip away. Couture lands a knee to the chin just as he does. Big right hook by Noons lands clean. "Uppercut or body" is the direction from his corner. Couture tags Noons with a right. 2 minues left. Couture tries to grab the plum and Noons slips out. Left and right from Noons that would have dropped many guys - Couture keeps coming. Leg kick by Couture. He tries to cut the cage off and keep Noons in the fence but he gets out. Crowd is buzzing as the time winds down. Couture throws a head kick just before the horn but it sails wide. Noons should take a close decision.

Jimmy Lennon Jr. will make this official. SPLIT DECISION - 29-28 FOR COUTURE, 30-27 FOR NOONS, AND 29-28 FOR THE WINNER - RYAN COUTURE. A mixture of cheers and boos for that announcement, but more of the former than the latter.

10 PM ET. The hour is being opened with a video package of Strikeforce's accomplishments since its inception, the embrace it received from Showtime, but no mention of the promotion's future after tonight.

* Ed 'Short Fuse' Herman (20-7, 1 NC) vs. Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza (16-3) - Catchweight Bout

Herman has on black trunks for this bout and came out to a cover of "Sweet Dreams." Souza is wearing silver/white trunks and came out to "It's My Time" by Fabolous. Our referee in charge for this contest is Mark Carter. After taking a little extra time to make sure Jacare's gloves are taped up properly, this fight is underway at 10:18 with a glove tap. Short Fuse lands a left hand early, but Souza drives him into the fence throwing knees and gets a right hand away as they break. Herman ducks another right. Jacare times a double perfectly and puts Herman's back on the mat. After a brief scramble they wind up in guard, and an illegal upkick causes the ref to stop the fight and give a warning, but he doesn't restart them back on the ground even though Souza tries to show the ref where he should be. Herman tries to close the distance and both guys start swinging before Souza scoops him up and dumps him to the ground again. Souza puts on the kimura armbar, Herman taps, and THIS FIGHT IS OVER. 3:10 OF R1 FOR THE WINNER BY SUBMISSION.

Pat Miletich gets in the cage for the interview. Jacare says he's very happy to win and thanks everybody for coming, and Pat congratulates him on ending his Strikeforce career on a winning note (I think that might be the first acknowledgement I've heard of Strikeforce's demise tonight - I have no idea how it compares to the TV broadcast though).

* Mike 'MAK' Kyle (19-8-1,2 NC) vs. Gegard Mousasi (32-3-2) - Light Heavyweight Bout

Kyle comes out to Clyde Carson's "Slow Down" and is rocking gray trunks with a blue SmartStop logo. Mousasi comes out to some techno energy music and is wearing black trunks with the salesforce logo. Our referee in charge is Don Turnage. We're underway at 10:32 ET! The fight is stopped at 4:09 OF R1 VIA REAR NAKED CHOKE FOR GEGARD MOUSASI. Mousasi pushed him to the outside of the cage until he had nowhere to go, got the takedown, got full mount with 80 seconds left in he round, and pummeled Kyle until he gave up his back for the finish. A virtually textbook performance.

* Nandor Guelmino (11-3-1) vs. Josh Barnett (31-6) (Heavyweight Bout)

Our referee in charge is Kevin Nix. Here we go! Barnett takes him to the ground right away, then tries to step over for a leg lock, but lets Guelmino back up int he process. Barnett rides on him from behind, his corner calls for a German, and somebody in the crowd calls for a power slam. Barnett takes him back down again, gets the full mount, goes for the sub AND GUELMINO TAPS OUT. Another QUICK FIGHT with another QUICK FINISH. The official time 2:11 FOR THE ARMBAR SUBMISSION.

Barnett says even with a flu, this goes to show that if you're a real ass kicker, you can either get in there and die like a man or leave a man dead. Militech asks if he's going to UFC or pro wrestling. Barnett says it's always pro wrestling, and says "Are you not entertained?" That gets a crowd pop. Barnett says to every heavyweight in the world "RUN COWARDS, BUT I WILL FIND YOU, AND I WILL TAKE YOUR HEAD."

* Dion Staring (28-7) vs. Daniel Cormier (10-0) - Heavyweight Bout

'Big' John McCarthy is our referee for the co-main event. Staring is in the white trunks, Cormier is in the black trunks, and we're underway at 11:07 ET. The Energy Arena crowd is heavily biased given Cormier was a wrestler here, to the point of cheering and booing during the fighter introductions. Cormier gets a takedown 56 seconds in and the entire building shouts with enthusiasm. Staring is able to get back to his feet, but that just gives Cormier a chance to tag him and take him back down again with 2:28 left. Staring gets pulled aside for a warning for an illegal shot but Cormier is ready to go the second the action resumes and has Staring on the ground again right away. He mounts him, he pounds on him, and OKC is eating it up. The only thing he hasn't done yet that they want is finish. He's trying but Staring survives to the horn. One fan has some advice for Staring: "Tag team with Overeem!"

R2 starts at 11:13 with Staring trying to be aggressive, but winding up in the fence with Cormier working like hell to take him down. Surprisingly he lets it go about 55 seconds in and returns to center, but it's not long before they tie up and Cormier takes him down. He takes side control as someone screams "YOU CAN'T STOP THAT WRESTLING" then takes the back with relative ease. Staring rolls and Cormier is in half guard but he gets about 6 uncontested right hands to the head from there. Cormier is sitting on his side dropping hammerfists. Now it's full mount. If this goes the 5, it's very arguably a 10-8 round for Cormier - it has been entirely one-sided. Staring's only hope is that Cormier gasses out. Cormier has his back with 90 to go and rides the side dropping damage. Cormier gets bored with it and STANDS HIMSELF UP then finds a better angle to POUND OUT STARING AND GET THE FINISH. A total ass-whipping by Cormier. OFFICIAL TIME BY TKO - 4:02 OF R2 FOR THE UNDEFATED DANIEL CORMIER.

Cormier: "I feel good. I did exactly what I wanted to do, he's a very tough guy, stepped up when most guys didn't. April 20th Fox, Frank Mir, you and me let's do it." Pat asks him about light heavyweight. "I'm gonna let Jon Jones defend his title in April, then I'm gonna kick his ass in the fall." Pat asks about ending his Strikeforce career here. "I LOVE OKLAHOMA!!!"

* Nate Marquardt (35-10-2) {C} vs. Tarec Saffiedine (13-3) - Welterweight Title

Saffiedine is out first in the red trunks. Marquardt is in the black. Our referee to give instructions for this main event bout, scheduled for a possible five rounds, is 'Big' John McCarthy. Here we go!

Our first round is underway at 10:33 ET. Saffiedine circles on the outside. Marquardt is being patient and waiting for the right moment. He snaps off a leg kick, then anoher. Saffiedine answers with one. Nate goes to one knee - possibly he tripped - but he recovers quickly. Saffiedine lands a nice body kick. A fan screams "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" to laughter from those around him. Marquardt is using more and more kicks. He finally catches Saffiedine with a hook and then gets tied up, spinning around on the fence. They trade knees. A few fans boo when they continue to circle. More boos when R1 ends without either fighter getting off another shot. Someone yells "If you're booing you don't have a clue!"

Marquardt drops down for a takedown one minute into the second round. He's got a single leg, Saffiedine is showing good balance, but Marquardt is finally able to trip him. Saffiedine pops right back up though and presses him into the fence. Marquardt spins him around and Saffiedine spins him and so on round and round we go where it will stop no one knows. Marquadt goes for another takedown with 40 seconds left but lets it go, then starts throwing kicks and jabs. Marquadt tries to land a spin kick and falls down in the process, but there was more action in that last 30 seconds than the previous 4:30.

R3 is underway at 11:45. Marquardt tries a jumping knee with 2:53 left - that's the biggest move of the round so far. I know it defies conventional wisdom (and the pecking order) to say this, but perhaps the Cormier fight should have gone last. The wind went out of the sails in the Energy Arena after that fight, and Marquardt is fighting a smart/safe technical fight, which isn't helping them bounce back either. Then again this might just be one of those bad style match-ups, because Saffiedine manages to avoid most strikes, and tie-up on the fence whenever he has anything to worry about. Marquardt lands a good right with 20 seconds left and pushes the action a little, then dives for a single leg he doesn't get before the horn. The biggest pop of this fight so far was for a shot of Dan Henderson in the crowd between rounds.

R4 is underway at 11:51. Nate finally starts to turn it up 85 seconds in and the crowd is loud in their approval. This feels familiar - he finishes in the 4th round last time. Saffiedine lands a single leg kick right as Marquardt looks for a takedown. Saffiedine actually gets Marquardt in the fence and lands a good shot flush to the nose - Marquardt's face is red and if he didn't break something he definitely cut something. Yes - it appears there's a cut just over the bridge of Nate's nose. The blood is smearing onto Saffiedine's arm. Saffiedine has him in the fence at the horn.

Our fifth and final round is underway right before midnight. Saffiedine executes his "let's hold Nate on the fence" strategy again. He tries to drop levels and gets stuffed, and both men return to center with 3 minutes to go. Saffiedine has him in the fence again with two minutes left. They break apart 20 seconds later. Saffiedine tries to push Marduqardt into the fence and throw an uppercut but misses. They willingly return to center with 70 seconds left. Saffiedine gets a takedown with under 45 seconds left. Saffiedine rides out the top until the horn and though he probably won this round it's up to the judges to decide the score.

Jimmy Lennon Jr. will make this official. WE HAVE A UNANIMOUS DECISION - 48-47, 49-46 X2 ALL FOR THE WINNER AND NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION: TAREC 'SPONGE' SAFFIEDINE. Pat asks him about his low kick game. "I've been training so long, so hard, my kicks are one of my best weapons." Pat asks about the ups and downs. "I can't imagine I'm wearing the belt right now, it's unreal. I want to thank Strikeforce for being by my side, Scott Coker, all of the fans here. It has been an honor to fight in front of you guys, thanks so much." Coker hits the cage and Pat asks him about "closing the door" on the promotion. "I'm so happy for these guys tonight - it's the pinnacle of my career - and it's time." Pat thanks him for all he's done for the sport. Scott thanks all of his staffers, thanks Showtime for taking them from regional to national, and says he's looking forward to Homeland next season. That's it!
