Last week Alexander Shlemenko became a champion on an epic fight card, and we now continue Season 8 on SpikeTV with a bantamweight world title bout! Eduardo Dantas defends his belt against Marcos Galvao on a card that also features four Middleweight Tournament Quarterfinals! Join us at 10 PM ET for the recap as soon as AMP is off the air.

11:00 PM ET. AMP ran over but that's what they made commercial breaks on Spike TV for.

* Doug Marshall vs. Andreas Spang (Middleweight Tournament Bout)

36 to 34, 5'10" to 6'1", 185.5 to 186 and 68" to 73" reach from Marshall to Spang. 'The Rhino' Marshall is in black trunks and Spang is in the blue. Our referee for this middleweight contest is Dan Miragliotta. Here we go! Spang gets the better of the striking in the first 30 seconds but Marshall is keeping his hands up. Marshall lands his best flurry at 2 minutes in and pushes Spang into the fence. Miragliotta breaks them for inactivity and Marshall lands some big blows. MARSHALL DROPS HIM JUST MOMENTS PAST THE THREE MINUTE MARK WITH A RIGHT HAND AND THIS FIGHT IS OVER. Marshall didn't even wait for it to be stopped - he just walked away. He's so happy Spike has to bleep him out. Marshall even walked into Miragliotta as he was running in to stop it. Commercial.

OFFICIAL TIME 3:03 OF R1 FOR THE WINNER BY KO AND MIDDLEWEIGHT TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALIST - DOUG 'THE RIGHT HOOK' MARSHALL. He must have told Michael Williams to say that during the break. Jimmy Smith still calls him 'The Rhino' in the post-fight interview. Kurt Angle is in the crowd watching. Smith and Wheelock preview our other tournament matches and throw to a video package before commercial.

* Brett Cooper vs. Norman Paraisy (Middleweight Tournament Bout)

27 to 25, 6'0" each, 185.8 to 185.2 and 71" to 70" from Paraisy to Cooper. Paraisy is in the short white trunks and fights out of Paris, France. Cooper is in the black trunks and fighting out of Long Beach, California. Our ref is Joseph Hawes. Here we go! Cooper shoots for a takedown 20 seconds in but gets stuffed. Paraisy turns out and lands a body kick but Cooper gets a takedown 50 seconds in. Paraisy gets up and Cooper drops level to take him down again - and gets stuck. Things stall here. He gets him down to a knee here and there but the ref is calling for more work at the halfway point. Paraisy gets hurt by a slam but he keeps firing back as on the feet. Paraisy gets a takedown of his own with 83 seconds left and gets warned not to grab the shorts. Cooper is right back up. Cooper gets another takedown in the last minute and rides out the round from half and full guard.

Cooper knocks Paraisy down with an uppercut in the first 10 seconds of R2 then powers him back down to the ground into side control. Paraisy is getting jacked up as Cooper is trying to get a dominant mount. Smith already has Cooper up 10-9 so far. These left hands to Paraisy's head could finish the fight. Body head body. As Smith says it's all "one way traffic" from Cooper right now. Paraisy gets back up 2:08 into the round. Cooper wastes no time trying to get it back down to the ground. 2:12 left in R2 he has it. Paraisy is able to get back up at 1:20 but is slammed down with AUTHORITY at 1:12 left. He starts to get back up in the last 10 seconds and single legs Cooper right before the bell.

Cooper has a takedown 23 seconds into the third and I think we can see how the rest of this fight will go. Paraisy is up at 44 and right back down again. He's back up again at 1:06, and back down again at 1:22. Rinse lather repeat. Up, and down. Up, and down. Cooper has his back with 80 seconds left but Paraisy sweeps to the top. That's probably too little too late. Cooper is easily able to get out of it and to his feet then dump Paraisy with 38 seconds left. This should be a 30-27 or even a 30-26 based on that dominant R2.

Michael Williams: WE GO TO THE JUDGES - ALL THREE SCORE THIS FIGHT 30-27 FOR THE WINNER BY UNANIMOUS DECISION AND MIDDLEWEIGHT TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALIST BRETT COOPER. And we move on!

* Dan Cramer vs. Brian Rogers (Middleweight Tournament Bout)

Tale of the Tape. 27 to 28, 6'1" to 5'11", 185.9 to 186 and 75" to 73" from Cramer to Rogers. Cramer is 9-3 fighting out of Coconut Creek, Florida in the gray trunks. Rogers is 10-4 and out of Kent, Ohio in the dark trunks. Al Coley is our ref. Here we go! Rogers hits a judo throw into side control 33 seconds in but Cramer sweeps to the top. Rogers gets back to his feet with 3:15 left but eats an uppercut and then is taken down at 3:01. Rogers goes for an armbar and sensing it Cramer lets him back up at the halfway point. Rogers and Cramer circle for most of the rest of this stanza. Rogers is briefly to a knee at 30 seconds. Both men open up with strikes in the final 10 before the bell.

Cramer is complaining he got poked in the eye but the ref never stopped it or saw it. Rogers gets a belly to belly 22 seconds in and lets a flurry of hammerfists go. Jessica Eye is watching from cageside as it gets back to the feet. Rogers gets him down again and lets him back up at 3:08 left. Cramer gets a takedown 2:05 in. They're back up at 2:26 gone. Cramer gets him down with an outside leg trip 3:05 in. Rogers is on the ground until 25 seconds are left. Both guys start throwing with abandon, but neither has a knockdown before R2 ends.

Cramer has to be reminded to put his mouthpiece in to start R3. Jimmy Smith has the fight all tied up 19-each. Cramer has a takedown that only lasts a second or two. A lot of cliches and dirty boxing this round. Cramer hurts Rogers with a knee to get the fight to the ground as we approach the halfway point. Rogers goes for an ankle lock at 1:32 and Cramer has to let him up to avod it. Rogers starts throwing wild and CRAMER IS HURT. Cramer tries to tie him up. Rogers trips him and after a wild roll on the ground he's on top. Cramer is back up with 43 seconds to go and he has a takedown of his own 7 seconds later. Rogers is on his back at the bell - this could go either way.

We're back with Michael Williams at 11:25 ET. THE JUDGES SCORE THIS FIGHT 29-28, 30-27 AND 29-28 ALL FOR THE UNANIMOUS WINNER MOVING TO THE MIDDLEWEIGHT SEMI-FINALS: DAN 'COSMO' CRAMER. Can't argue. Cramer advances to face Brett Cooper. Commercial.

* Sultan Aliev vs. Mikkel Parlo (Middleweight Tournament Bout)

This fight is from the Spike.com prelims and is only shown as highlights. Aliev used his ground game to pull out a unanimous decision and move on to face Doug Marshall. Commercial.

* Eduardo Dantas {C} vs. Marcos Galvao (Bantamweight Title Bout)

30 to 24, 5'8" to 5'7", 134.7 to 134.6 and 65" to 67" from Galvao to Dantas on the Tale of the Tape for this scheduled 5-rounder. Galvao is in the white trunks with the Eminem bleached hair, fighting out of NY, New York. The champion Dantas is in the red trunks, and hailing from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Our referee is Dan Miragliotta. Here we go!

Both guys spend the first 30 seconds getting the range, although Galvao seems to be pushing Dantas a bit. Dantas is using his leg kicks and his jab. Galvao either knocks him down or he slips at 2:53 and Dantas is forced to defend as Galvao takes his back on the fence. Partial takedown at 2:13 and I mean for a split second at most. Miragliotta calls for more work as Galvao tries like hell to get him back down. Another call for work at 93 seconds. Dantas may have landed the better strikes in the last 30 seconds but he ate a big right hand as time expired.

No definitive advantage for either fighter in the first 75 seconds of R2. Galvao might be doing more with kicks but Dantas has a great jab and he's forcing Galvao to chase him and counter punch and just as I'm typing that HE HURTS GALVAO WITH A HEAD KICK AT 3:09 LEFT. Galvao recovers nicely but his face has been bloodied. DANTAS LANDS THE UPPERCUT TO FINISH THIS FIGHT JUST PAST THE 3 MINUTE MARK AND THIS FIGHT IS OVER. It was a short little uppercut right to the chin, but Galvao had already been softened up by two flush headkicks, so a perfect strike was all it took. Dantas is emotional about beating his friend and goes over to talk to him as we go to break.

OFFICIAL TIME VIA KO - 3:01 OF R2. That's it for Bellator 89!
