►Over the weekend, Arisa Nakajima picked up her second title defense as JWP Openweight Champion. Nakajima defeated Yumiko Hotta at JWP's "Mania-X 2013" on Sunday to retain the Openweight Championship. Also, the JWP Jr./POP Championship was on the line, as Manami Katsu retained against Risa Sera with a Diving Elbow Drop to pick up her first defeanse. "Harukura," Kayoko Haruyama and Tsubasa Kuragaki, first title defense as the JWP and Daily Sports' Women Tag Team Champions was a success, defeating JWP Tag League the Best Tournament winners, the Jumonji Sisters, DASH Chisako and Sendai Sachiko. The Jumonji Sisters defeated Hanako Nakamori and Morii in the finals of the tournament to earn a shot at the JWP Tag Team Championship and Daily Sports' Women Tag Team Championship the following week. Pro Wrestling:EVE Champion Nikki Storm made her debut for the promotion, teaming with the woman she defeated for her championship back in February, Emi Sakura. Storm would pick up her first victory in JWP by defeating Hanako Nakamori and Morii of Sakura's Gatoh Move, using the Arctic Cyclone Neckbreaker on Nakamori. Sachie Abe celebrated her seventeenth anniversary in wrestling, teaming with Megumi Yabushita and KAZUKI in defeat to Command Bolshoi, Leon and Ray. The former three-time JWP Tag Team Champion and Daily Sports' Women Tag Team Champion started out back in 1996 as apart of the defunct JD Star promotion. Abe would later appear for Aja Kong's ARSION, before making the jump to AtoZ in 2003. After joining the JWP roster in 2006, Sachie Abe went onto to capture the JWP Tag Team Championship twice with KAZUKI. Abe would hold the championship once more in 2010, as she and Aja Kong defeated Toshie Uematsu and KAZUKI for the unified championships. Earlier this year, Abe was eliminated in the semi finals of the JWP Openweight Championship Contender Tournament by Kayoko Haruyama, who would later win the tournament.

On Sunday, Yumi Ohka will have her first title defense as Regina di WAVE Champion against Yuu Yamagata. Ohka defeated Kana in the finals of the Regina di WAVE Tournament to be crowned the inaugural champion last month. Yuu Yamagata walks into the championship match fresh off her debut at SHIMMER Women Athletes and looks to capture her first singles championship. The Pro Wrestling WAVE Tag Team Championship will also be up for grabs, as reigning champions Misaki Ohata and Tsukasa Fujimoto take on Kana and Mio Shirai. Ohata and Fujimoto hold three title defenses going into the match, with their last being against Yumi Ohka and Hikaru Shida that went to a thiry-minute time limit draw. Kana and Shirai have not that successful in WAVE recently and a championship win could turn things around for the better.

This coming Wednesday, the soon to be retired Ayumi Kurihara will battle Mayumi Ozaki. Just two weeks ago, Ayumi Kurihara announced that she will be retiring from professional wrestling on August 4th. Wrestling her final match in the United States on April 6th, Kurihara walks into this match looking for revenge. After being bloodied by Mayumi Ozaki during a match, Ayumi Kurihara and AKINO went on to lose the Oz Academy Tag Team Championship to Ozaki and Yumi Ohka on February 10th in a match where interference from Ozaki's Seikigun or interference from AKINO and Kurihara's side would result in the benefitting team losing the match. Ayumi Kurihara suffered a fracture to her orbital bone and was forced to miss a near month of action, which apparently occurred during AKINO's fifteenth anniversary match with Aja Kong against Mayumi Ozaki & Yumi Ohka & Mio Shirai. Another member of Ozaki's Seikigun will be in action as Chikayo Nagashima's Oz Academy Openweight Championship will be on the line against AKINO. Nagashima has retained her championship against Mio Shirai and Hiroyo Matsumoto and looks to for a third time.

Upsetting Mayumi Ozaki and Yumi Ohka in their first defense as Oz Academy Tag Team Champions last month, Tomoka Nakagawa and Hiroyo Matsumoto will face Hikaru Shida and Aja Kong in their first title defense. For the fifth time the Oz Academy tag Team Titles are within the possesion of Jungle Jack 21, Hiroyo and Nakagawa's second reign as champions. Aja Kong and Shida picked up another loss as a tag team partners. At the April 14th show, Kong defeated Shida with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster. Also, Meiko Satomura will battle Carlos Amano and Sonoko Kato will be taking on Mio Shirai in a match that is Kato loses she will become Shirai's "dog."

This would lead to an impromptu six-person tag team match with Regeneration X and Serena Deeb defeating Havok, Stephie and Nevaeh, with Deeb getting the Spear on Nevaeh. Havok would attack Deeb post match, setting up their collision for the tapings. Havok finished out the weekend with a victory over Mia Yim, a match from "SHINE 3." Tomoka Nakagawa and "The Rate Tank" Kellie Skater, known collectively as "Global Green Gangsters," are the new SHIMMER Tag Team Champions. 3G defeated the Canadian NINJAS in a No Count Out, No Disqualification Match for the championships. A Four-Way Survival Match between Courtney Rush, "The Wrestling Goddess" Athena and former SHIMMER Champions "Sweet" Saraya Knight and Madison Eagles was also announced as a top contenders match up. Jessie McKay versus "The World Famous" Kana, MsChif versus Rhia O'Reilly, Ayako Hamada versus Melanie Cruise, Regeneration X versus the team of Veda Scott and Shazza McKenzie, "The Oncoming Storm" Kalamity versus Yuu Yamagata, Santana Garrett versus Miss Natural, PWWA Interim Champion Evie verus Kimber Lee and a SHIMMER Championship match between Cheerleader Melissa and Mercedes Martinez. SHIMMER Champion Cheerleader Melissa finished out the weekend strong, with successful title defenses accompanied with a heel turn. Just a week removed from being crowned SHIMMER Champion for a second time at WrestleCon, Cheerleader Melissa refused to break a Fujiwara Armbar on Allison Danger during a tag team match, leading the referee to call for a disqualification. Melissa would attack her tag team partner, Ayako Hamada post match proceeding with her heel turn. The two had a back and forth battle on Volume 32, which saw Cheerleader Melissa use two Kudo Drivers to put Hamada away. Since, the two have partnered in few tag team matches, but had not collided in the ring. WSU Spirit Champion Marti Belle made her debut on the SPARKLE preshow, Angie Skye, December, Pink Flash Kira, Angelus Layne and Heidi Lovelace were also apart of SPARKLE. Leah Von Dutch, Xandra Bale and Thunderkitty made their debuts on the SHIMMER main show. SHIMMER Co-founder, Allison Danger's final match was the aforementioned tag team match with she and Leva Bates against Cheerleader Melissa and Ayako Hamada. Danger revealed that her retirement came about due a stroke she suffered back in January, with medical tests finding lesions on her brain that could hinder her career.

►This Friday, SHINE Wrestling will be initiating the first steps to crown the inaugural champion of it's promotion. A sixteen-seed tournament, with sixteen members of the SHINE roster will compete in qualifying matches to become SHINE Champion. Four of the qualifying matches will take place this Friday, with the additional four being held at "SHINE 10" on May 24th. The eight advancies will clash at SHINE's one year anniversary IPPV on July 12th, with rightful winner crowned as SHINE Champion. Making her return after a several month absence, Jazz will be taking on The Valkyrie's Ivelisse Velez in one of the first qualifying matches. Jazz's last appearance in SHINE Wrestling saw her and the debuting Amazing Kong defeat Rain and Mercedes Martinez in the main event of "SHINE 5." Ivelisse made her debut SHINE 5, picking up a loss to "The Wrestling Goddess" Athena. Velez has since attained a victories over Su Yung and LuFisto at "SHINE 7" and joined The Valkyrie.

The next qualifier will see Angelina Love combat the presumed leader of The Valkyrie, Rain. Love's debut at "SHINE 7" was not well received, as Rain along with members of The Valkyrie interrupted Love's in ring promo. At "SHINE 8," Love, Amazing Kong, Mia Yim and Christina Von Eerie came up shot against The Valkyrie in the eight-woman tag team main event. Since coming together at "SHINE 6," The Valkrie has been clean swept in their victories in SHINE Wrestling, which gives Rain that extra momentum going into this tournament.

In the third qualifying match, Su Yung will be dealing with nothing "sweet," as she takes on the now former SHIMMER Champion "Sweet" Saraya Knight. At "SHINE 4," Knight retained the SHIMMER Championship against Jazz in the main event, with the interference from Mercedes Martinez and Rain. Knight had since went to retain the SHIMMER Championship on a number of occassions before dropping the championship to Cheerleader Melissa at WrestleCon in a Steel Cage Match. Saraya Knight has vowed to SHINE Wrestling with the expectation of carnage to be left behind. The last qualifying match is likely to be a hellacious battle, as Jessicka Havok will be taking on former SHIMMER Champion Madison Eagles. After bein sidelined with a career threatening injury back in 2011, Eagles began training for a comeback in late 2012, with her first match being held earlier this year. Eagles defeated Jessie McKay in a rematch from Volume 35 at SHIMMER's Volume 53 IPPV at WrestleCon and continued her comeback tour at the tapings over the weekend. Since debuting at "SHINE 2," Jessicka Havok has been leaving carnage in the ring and picking apart at it as well. Havok's debut would see her defeat Reby Sky, with Havok injuring Sky's arm post match with a chair. Havok tried to recreate those actions upon Mia Yim and Leva Bates, but was interrupted by Reby Sky. At "SHINE 6," Havok got the win over over Reby Sky when Matt Hardy threw in the towel on Sky's behalf, while Reby was fading away while locked in the Rings of Saturn. Jessicka Havok lost the Career vs Respect Match to Reby Sky at "SHINE 8," with the stipulation that Havok must profess that she "respects" Reby Sky to the live audience if she lost, but if Reby Sky was shall to lose, she would be out of SHINE Wrestling indefinitely.

Also announced for "SHINE 9," is the debuts of Evie, Jessie McKay and Courtney Rush. Evie, the current PWWA Interim Champion and Impact Pro Wrestling New Zealand Women's Champion, ended 2012 as a double champion. In August, Evie became the inaugural IPW New Zealand Women's Champion and went onto to defeat Jessie McKay the following week in the PWWA Interim Championship tournament finals to become the new champion in PWWA. Evie has since went to retain both her championships and made her debut for SHIMMER Women Athletes. "Everybody's Favorite Girlfriend" Jessie McKay is known for her stand out battles with Ayako Hamada, Madison Eagles, Nicole Matthews, amongst others in SHIMMER. Courtney Rush walks into SHINE Wrestling as a former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion and the current BellaTrix Female Warriors Champion. Repackaging herself as Courtney Rush, the former PJ Black has impressed many with her outings in SHIMMER and nCw Femmes Fatales and looks to continue the "rush." One-half of the SHIMMER Tag Team Champions, "The Rate Tank" Kellie Skater will also be in action. Rhia O'Reilly, Santana Garrett, Mercedes Martinez, Amazing Kong, Mia Yim, Brittney Savage, Allysin Kay, Shazza McKenzie and Nikki Roxx will all be on hand.

Lastly, Leva Bates and Kimberly will either walk out of SHINE 9 with an additional chapter to their feud or a conclusion. At SHINE 9, Bates and the resident psycho path Kimberly will square off in an Arkham Asylum Steel Cage Match. Kimberly holds two victories over Leva Bates, defeating Bates in a singles match at "SHINE 6" and in the Pick Your Poison Match at "SHINE 8" due to referee stoppage, while Bates only holds a victory over Kimberly in the Last Woman Standing Match at "SHINE 7." The Arkham Asylum Steel Cage Match could possibly end in a tie, with both women holding two victories over each other. Leva already holds two w's over Kimberly, as she handed Kimberly her third loss at "SHINE 3." SHINE 9 will be available on WWNLive this Friday night at 9PM.
