Mike's Ring of Honor TV Recap: Adam Cole vs. Cedric Alexander

We go backstage to Adam Cole. Cole says that Promise and Potential are two words used to describe Cedric Alexander, Cole says that Promise and Potential won't help Cedric when he faces a former WORLD CHAMPION. Cole says that this week Cedric finds out why he is the BEST DAMN WRESTLER IN THE WORLD.

Kevin Kelly and Caprice Coleman are our commentators, Kevin welcomes us to the Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling WV, and hypes up our main event as Adam Cole is set to face Cedric Alexander. Plus we will hear from the Decade later in the hour.

Match 1

Hanson vs The Romantic Touch

Hanson extends the hand but TRT spits on it and then runs between the ropes. TRT goes for the waistlock but Hanson gets the easy takeover with the arm. Hanson picks up TRT and puts him on the ropes and lands a series of forearms to the chest and then charges and lands a series of shots. Hanson pulls TRT off the ropes but TRT shoves him off and avoids the cartwheel clothesline and lands a big dropkick on Hanson. TRT lands a big boot to the head and lands a series of kicks to the head and locks in a big chinlock. Hanson comes back and lands a big sidewalk slam followed by a leg drop for a near fall. TRT sends Hanson in to the corner and goes for a monkey flip but Hanson cartwheels out of it and lands a big clothesline. Hanson finishes things off with a big spin kick for the win.

Winner: Hanson.

Next week The Decade get their shot at the tag titles against Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly.

We go backstage to The Decade. Strong says that next week he and Jacobs will become Tag Team Champions, Strong points out that both have previously been tag team champions but that was in another era. Jacobs says that next week they will prove that they don't rest and for some reason BJ Whitmer and Adam Page walk off.

We go backstage to ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe. Jay says that he watched the Honor Rumble and he was hoping for one of two people to win either Adam Cole or Michael Bennett. Jay says that Bennett has something that belongs to him and next week he's coming for Bennett's ass.

Honor Rumble highlights from last week.

The Kingdom come to the ring. Bennett gets the microphone and introduces himself as the winner of the Honor Rumble. Bennett says that every kingdom needs a crown and next week the Kingdom will have two crowns, the title of love and he will become the new ROH World Champion. Adam Cole snatches the microphone and says that Bennett isn't sticking to the plan, Bennett cuts him off and says the plan was to get the title back in to the kingdom. Cole says that every kingdom has a king and he's the king. Maria steps in and whispers something in the ear of Cole. Cole says that he knows Bennett will beat the crap out of Jay Briscoe and bring the ROH Title back to the Kingdom.

The Decade comes out. Jimmy Jacobs gets the microphone, Jacobs welcomes us to the HOSUE THE DECADE BELT. Jacobs says that they aren't just concerned with the past decade of Ring of Honor but they are concerned about the next decade of Ring of Honor. Jacobs says that they have taken Adam Page and Tadarius Thomas under their wings because they are givers and not just disgruntled bitter veterans. Jacobs says that tonight Adam Page and Tadarius Thomas have a chance to prove themselves to the Decade and it's going to be a No Disqualification Match. Jacobs says that he wants to see something he wants some excitement, Jacobs says that this is Page and Tadarius's opportunity and they need to SEIZE IT. Good promo from Jacobs here to set up our next match on the program between the two young guys of the Decade.

Match 2

No Disqualification Match

Adam Page vs Tadarius Thomas

Page and Tadarius lock up, Tadarius goes for the waistlock but Page gets to the ropes while Whitmer and Jacobs throw weapons in to the ring. Page whips Tadarius in to the ropes but Tadarius holds the ropes and dumps Page but Page catches himself. Page goes for the slingshot somersault clothesline but Tadarius blocks and Page slides to the floor just for Tadarius lands a big dive to the floor on Page. Tadarius whips Page in to the barricade and lands a series of shots. Tadarius goes for another whip but gets sent in to the barricade. Page sends Tadarius in to the corner and picks up a chair but gets it kicked to the face. Tadarius climbs the ropes but Page shoves him and Tadarius's leg gets caught in the corner and lands a series of chair shots to the knee.

Page sets up two chairs in the middle of the ring and goes for a suplex but Tadarius counters and rolls up Page for a near fall. Tadarius hooks Page and lands a German Suplex through the chairs. Tadarius gets the chair and nails Page with it and then lands a series of chair shots but as is pointed out by Caprice Coleman on commentary his face changes, Tadarius hesitates on a third chair shot and Jacobs and Page want Tadarius to hit him but Tadarius turns and nails Jacobs in the face with the chair and leaves as does Caprice Coleman.

Winner: No Contest. Short match for a No Disqualification Match but at the same time it progresses the Decade storyline and builds to Page eventually turning.

Honor Rumble highlights round 2, Will Ferrera eliminates House of Truth and will now challenge Jay Lethal for the ROH TV Title next week on Championship Week.

Main Event

Adam Cole vs Cedric Alexander

Cole and Cedric lock up, Cole goes after the arm and Cedric counters and wrenches the arm, but Cole counters and goes in to the side headlock and takes him over with the side headlock and Cedric forces him in to the corner and breaks cleans with a little ADAM COLE BAY BAY. Cole locks in a side headlock but Cole shoots him off and Cole lands a shoulder tackle, but Cedric lands a big arm drag and lands a big dropkick sending Cole to the floor and we go to commercial.

We come back with Cole landing a series of chops but Cedric fires back with a series of chops to Cole. Cole lands a series of shots and whips Cedric in to the corner but Cedric catches him with a series of kicks and climbs to the middle rope but Cole shoves him off the middle rope and shoves him to the floor. Cole drops to the floor and sends Cedric in to the barricade. Cole whips Cedric in to the ropes but Cedric ducks a clothesline and lands a frankensteiner sending Cole to the floor. Cedric goes for a dive but Cole dives back in to the ring and locks in a sleeper hold. Cole lands a series of shots and works over the back of Cedric. Cole whips Cedric in to the corner but Cedric lands a big back elbow and a springboard kick off the middle rope.Cedric lands a series of punches and chops and works over Cedric lands a series of suplexes but Cole blocks the third one, Cole sends Cedric in to the ropes but Cedric ducks a clothesline and lands a series of springboard DDT for a near fall as we go to our final commercial break.

We come back with Cedric landing a series of shots and goes for a dive off the ropes but Cole kicks him in the leg and goes for the figure four leglock but Cedric kicks him off and out of the ring. Cedric lands a big dive off the ropes and rolls Cole in to the ring and goes for a splash but Cole gets the knees up in to the gut of Cedric. Cole goes for the Shining Wizard but Cedric ducks and rolls up Cole for a near fall. Cedric climbs the ropes but Cole catches him with a superkick in mid air for a near fall. Cole lands the suplex on the knee and hooks in the figure four but Cedric gets the ropes. Cole goes for another figure four but Cedric shoves him off, Cedric lands a series of dropkicks in the corner, and Cedric goes for another corner dropkick but Cole catches Cedric with a superkick, and lands the TWIST OF FATE and scores the win.

Winner: Adam Cole. Excellent Main Event for this week's TV a big win for Cole but another great showing for Cedric Alexander.

Next week on Ring of Honor it's CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK including the first defense of the ROH World Title by Jay Briscoe facing off with Michael Bennett, Plus the Tag Titles and Television Title will be defended.
