Tonight our regular Raw recapper Ian Clark at 8 PM ET covers Raw for Oct. 23rd, 2017. It's the first Raw since WWE TLC on October 22nd! How did The Shield sans Roman + Kurt Angle fare at the PPV last night? Please hit F5 or refresh while the show is in progress for the latest updates.

Raw opens with a recap of the main event last night.

Kurt Angle hits the ring. "Thank you! Wow, what a whirlwind it's been! You know, every story has a beginning, middle, and end, and last night, I wrote a new chapter. When I was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, I didn't think it could get better. But then last night, competing in a WWE ring for the first time in 11 years, that was like a dream come true. But as a famous man once said, that was last night, this is tonight. On to the next Survivor Series. Now, Survivor Series holds a special place in my heart, because 18 years ago, I debuted there. This year, Survivor Series is once again Raw vs. Smackdown. Our best vs. their best, our champions vs. their champions. As it stands right now, this is the lineup: Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss will take on Smackdown Women's Champion Natalya. Intercontinental Champion The Miz will take on United States Champion Baron Corbin. Raw Smackdown Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will take on The Usos. Already slated for the Pay Per View: WWE Champion Jinder Mahal will take on Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar is in the house and will be coming out here later tonight. In addition, there will be the traditional elimination match, and this year there will not only be one, there will be two: a men's match and a women's match. As General Manager, it's my job to make sure the brand is as successful as possible."

The Miz comes out. "Do you hear yourself talk? Do you think this is our show? This is my show. Make the show as successful as possible? Is that what you think you did last night, stepping into the ring? With Roman down, you should've made Seth and Dean face us 5-on-2. Dean's gone on about how they can take on any number of Superstars. It was all about you last night. You don't belong in a WWE ring as a Superstar, or as a General Manager. You should resign immediately."

"That's not going to happen, Miz. I'm going back to my office now--"

"You're not going anywhere. Guys?"

Miz surrounds the ring with Cesaro, Sheamus, and Curtis Axel. Rollins and Ambrose hit the ring and scare the rest of them off.

Miz: "Look at you two, sucking up to management. You should realize the odds still aren't in your favour. There are four of us and only two of you."

Kurt: "You really think so? I'm going to make a match. You, Cesaro, and Sheamus against these two men and a Superstar who attended TLC last night and decided to stay an extra night."

After a commercial, Kane is still in the ring. They show a replay of what he did to Braun. He grabs a mic.

"Through hellfire and brimstone, I heard the stories. How he wanted competition, how he rampaged, how he walked away from an ambulance crash, how he destroyed the Big Show, how he broke Roman Reigns again and again and again. They called him a monster. His name was Braun Strowman. I liked what I heard, but I had to see for myself. What I saw was a pile of trash. A 385-pound steaming, stinking mass of trash. So I threw him where he belonged, in the back of a garbage truck. And as the gears crunched down on him in one mechanical swoop, I saw fear, fear that no man had been able to instil in him before. I saw the fear as he knew that I will always be Raw's one and only true monster. And now with Braun gone, I want competition. Or else."

Now I can put Mickie where she belongs: in the past. So now on to Survivor Series. Natalya, I'm going to beat you, embarrass you, and prove that there may be two brands, but there's only one goddess. But having had the performance of my career at TLC, to say I'm underappreciated is an understatement. AJ and Finn Balor can stare into each others' eyes for, what, ten minutes? And you people chant "This is awesome." You give away chants like Hallowe'en candy, but where's my chant? You people are like Mickie James, just jealous. I know I'm in the Midwest, so I'm going to have to spell it out for you. How about I say a chant, and you people follow along? 'You deserve it!' Come on, 'You deserve it!' Did I not go slow enough? I am the goddess of the WWE, and you people will chant 'You deserve it' to me!"

That's a pretty strong response, but then again, anything is strong compared to Aaron Rogers' collarbone. Last night at TLC, I got interrupted Jason Jordan was out there throwing tomatoes and carrots and lettuce, a real grocery list of disrespect. But I'm going to do something really special, I'm going to give you an uninterrupted performance. I just need a few things. Silence your cell phones, hold your applause, and shut your mouths.

Green Bay walk with me/And I'll show you the way (audio keeps cutting out)/This city gets worse very day and in every way-- Microphone? Are we on? I'm going to try to get this back on track.

The thought of this city makes me sick/And I really need to be healed-- Look, I don't know who the technician is who can't do his damn job, but I'm gonna go back there, Lance, I don't know if it's you, but I'm gonna come back there, drag you out here, and beat the hell out of you."

Brock Lesnar hits the ring with Paul Heyman. They show a replay of Jinder's challenge.

"Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman, and I am the advocate for the reigning, defending, undisputed Universal Champion Brock Lesnar! You know what's funny? The way you all react to the manner in which I introduce my client, Brock Lesnar. Because someone has a problem with the word 'undisputed'. Someone wants to dispute the fact that Brock Lesnar is THE champion of World Wrestling Entertainment. This same someone has barely survived the title challenges of Randy Orton. That same someone has barely survived the title challenges of Shinsuke Nakamura. That same someone is laying awake at night trying to figure out how to survive the title challenges of AJ Styles. Meanwhile, on the flagship show, Brock Lesnar has survived the challenges of the most stacked heavyweight division in WWE history. You know what's undisputed? We live in the era of trash talk. Everyone wants to hurl insults, to not give credit where credit is due, to brand their opponents losers instead of box office attractions. You know what else is undisputed? The king of trash talk is the advocate, Paul Heyman. As much as you all want me to trash-talk, I don't trash-talk Brock Lesnar's opponents. I did not trash-talk Goldberg, I praised him and rightfully so. I did not trash-talk Samoa Joe, I praised him and rightfully so. I did not trash-talk Braun Strowman, I praised him, and dear god, rightfully so. But Jinder Mahal? The make-believe Maharaja? With the sing-along brothers doing my schtick of introducing you? You are not in Brock Lesnar's league. You are a pretender to the throne, a consolation prize not worthy of being called WWE Champion. When I think WWE Champion, I think of Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, John Cena! You are a consolation prize champion, delivered to Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan when they realized they got the shaft in the Superstar Shakeup. And don't think that Brock Lesnar is coming in to defend the brand of Monday Night Raw. There is no battle for brand supremacy. Any brand that can claim Brock Lesnar is by default the a-show! So Jinder Mahal, you are going to Suplex City! But your night will not end there! Because the last time a Smackdown Superstar stepped into the ring with Brock Lesnar, the entire locker room, even the Raw locker room, were left in shock. Because Brock Lesnar broke every moral, every decent edict of the PG Era. So Jinder, consider your challenge accepted by the beast, Brock Lesnar!"

Charly Caruso asks Kalisto about losing the CW Championship last night. He says he's fine physically, but Enzo took away his dream, and he doesn't respect him. He says he's cashing in his rematch on 205 Live, but tonight is about familia. Gran Metalik, Rich Swann, Mustafa Ali, and Cedric Alexander come in and Kalisto says they're going to be Team Lucha.

Gulak: "Just as my Powerpoint presentation was cut short last night at TLC, I cannot stand by and watch a talented performer be cut down by the man. Due to a vocal chord injury, I have a prepared statement by Enzo Amore, feel free to say it with us if you know it. His name is Enzo Amore, and he is indeed a certified G and a bona fide stud, and you cannot teach that. Ahem, bada boom, realest champ in the room, how are you doing? Enzo may have lost his voice, but he didn't lose the Cruiserweight Title. He is a bigger let-down than the Green Bay Packers. That's Kalisto. As for team Lucha Lucha, there is only one word, and we're going to spell it out for you."

After a commercial, Kurt Angle hits the ring. "On behalf of the Raw Superstars, I can tell you that I cannot wait for Survivor Series. It's the only time of the year when Raw goes head to head with Smackdown. Our champions vs. their champions. Our best female Superstars vs. their best female Superstars. And same with the men. So without further ado--"

Shane McMahon's music hits, and he enters through the crowd with the Smackdown roster in tow. He takes a microphone. "Under siege."

Angle walks away and up the ramp.

Shane: "Blue team! Go get 'em!"

The Smackdown roster head to the backstage area. The first people they come across are Titus and Apollo, who get beaten down en masse. Then Baron Corbin takes out a cameraman, and Bobby Roode pushes over a TV screen. The Smackdown women's roster chase aftet the Raw women's roster, and they start beating down Goldust, Curt Hawkins and Curtis Axel. They storm the locker room and beat down Jason Jordan, then Matt Hardy and someone else I can't make out. In another locker room, they beat down The Club and a few other people. They have a staredown with Sasha, Bayley, Fox and Mickie before the Smackdown women's roster beats them down too. The Shield launch a quick counter attack with chairs, but it doesn't last long. Finally, Rusev and Corbin drag in a terrified Kurt Angle, and walk him into the ring.

Shane: "At Survivor Series, I want you to bring your gold medal, what's left of your Raw roster, and we're all gonna finish what we started. Oh, it's true, it's damn true."

Did the entire Smackdown roster just turn heel?

The Shield
