This week's SmackDown Live is the third SmackDown after Hell in a Cell on Sept. 16, 2018! Press F5 or refresh for more updates during the show.

Smackdown opens with Paige in the ring. My feed cuts out for the first few seconds, but when she comes back, she's talking about the AJ/Joe situation. She calls it completely unacceptable, and rolls the footage from last week.

"Just to let everyone know, the Styles family is okay. After the footage stopped, we sent authorities to the Styles house straight away. He never entered the house, and charges have been pressed against Samoa Joe for trespassing. We talked to the WWE Board of Directors, and they all came to a unanimous decision: Samoa Joe should be fired. But before I made that decision and made that call, I gave another person a call: AJ Styles. I wanted to tell him the news, and I wanted to make sure his family way okay, but I felt his pain, I felt his emotion while I was speaking to him. But he said something I never thought he'd say: he was dropping the charges, and he begged me not to fire Samoa Joe. He said termination was too good for him, and he'd never get to get his hands on him. He said that he wanted to dish out the punishment, and I agree, so this Sunday, the match is on. But before this Saturday, he wanted to show you this clip."

AJ appears from home and apologizes for not being at Smackdown tonight, but he feels his performance would be hampered. He calls this bigger than WWE, and says he doesn't want to do something he'll regret, so he's staying home with him family until he gets confirmation that Joe is on a plane to Australia. He says his daughter Annie has been afraid that Joe will be under the bed or in the closet. He says Joe won't be coming back from the land down under, because down under is where he's going to put him. He vows to bury him alive.

Backstage, The Miz tells Sheldon Benjamin that he's responsible for getting him a match with Daniel Bryan, and asks if he's ready. He gives him a pep talk, talking up Benjamin's accomplishments, and telling him he needs to make a statement. Benjamin says Bryan will be unlucky casualty #1 of Benjamin's resurgence.

Rusev and Lana hit the ring.

Rusev: "Two weeks ago, Aiden English attacked me, ending our team and our friendship. But then, he took it one step further by saying that there's some kind of a video involving my wife and the city of Milwaukee. That just makes me want to tear him apart. But first, Aiden, come out here like a man and show me, my wife, and these people this bogus evidence."

Aiden comes out. "Yes, this evidence, the evidence you're all patiently been waiting for, is right here. But first! Some backstory. Did you know that Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin, which borders two great lakes?"

Lana: "You're stalling. Come on, you have nothing!"

Aiden: "I'm just providing some backstory. Milwaukee has culture, science, drama. It's not the forgotten city you two imply it is. In fact, it was the filming location for some unforgettable movies. Shows like Happy Days, and even tear-jerking dramas like Love, Actually and Baseketball. And now, including One Night in Milwaukee."

The footage starts airing, and it starts off with Aiden filming himself practicing a song making fun of Milwaukee. Lana knocks on his hotel room door, then comes in and tells him that she wants him. The footage cuts off.

Aiden: "And I want to show you the rest, I really do. But I can't. Legal complications. I'm entertaining a very lucrative offer from TMZ, and I wouldn't want to, you know, cheat on them."

Back in the ring, off-mic, Lana promises Rusev that there's more context, and Rusev chases after Aiden. Lana's left alone in the ring to deal with the scorn of the crowd.

After a commercial, Rusev is still looking for Aiden backstage. Lana bursts in and asks for the opportunity to explain. Rusev says they aren't doing this here, then walks off.

After a commercial, Becky hits the ring. "Six weeks ago at Summerslam, I finally stopped waiting and started taking. And since that night in Brooklyn, me, the champ, has been the best thing about Smackdown Live. And since I went through the entire locker room and toppled the queen, now run this division, and have made it the most relevant thing in all of WWE. Because I learned that being kind and being patient gets you nothing but being stabbed in the back and treated for a fool. But not anymore. Now, I strike first, and I strike often. Like this! (footage of Becky turning on Charlotte) That was nice, wasn't it? I could've watched that all day. Because time and time again, I have proven that I own Charlotte Flair, but it's funny, the more things change, the more things stay the same, because the champ still can't get the respect I deserve. Where are my magazine covers? Instead, I have to watch the woman I beat pose for future magazine covers and press releases. But this Saturday, I'll prove that I belong on the cover of magazines, PPV posters, billboards, and if no one's going to give it to me, I'll take it myself. I made a new poster for Super Show Down. (she reveals a mock PPV poster with her standing atop Charlotte with the arena in the background) This show is about me! It's not about HHH and Undertaker fighting for the last time, it's about me defending my title for the first time."

Charlotte hits the ring and takes control of a short brawl. She t-bone suplexes Becky into the poster, then locks the Figure Four half-in, half-out of the ring. She hits a superkick and walks back up the ramp as Smackdown goes off the air.
