WWE 205 Live

Written by Nickolye

It's time for another episode of 205 Live on the WWE Network! WWE 205 Live is back again for Sept. 4, 2020 and this time it's in the ThunderDome. Who will do battle in the cruiserweight division? Tune in for all the details. Hit F5 to refresh the live recap.

Vic Joseph welcomes us to tonight's episode and this week he's joined by Drew Gulak on commentary. Gulak is serious to start judging by what happened on SmackDown a little while ago, but he's prepared to keep it professional on 205 Live.

* Ariya Daivari vs. Tehuti Miles

Apparantly, Tehuti Miles is targeting the veterans of 205 Live. Are we doing heel vs. heel for this match? Daivari gets a quick jab to start things off, gets in two more jabs, and shouts "C'mon rookie!" Another swing and a miss from Miles and Daivari jabs him three times dropping him to a knee. Daivari: "You're just another piece of trash, aren't you?" Miles gets back up, Daivari backs away, Miles swings and misses twice but hits a back elbow, throws Daivari into a corner and takes the fight to him. He rams his shoulder into Daivari's midsection, whips him hard into the turnbuckles, but then gets thrown out the ring. Daivari kicks him backwards into the announce table, throws him back into the ring, covers for 2, mounted punches, hits a neckbreaker, covers for 2, then puts him in a chinlock. Miles backs him to a corner, Daivari keeps the hold on, Miles counters with an armdrag, and Daivari comes back with a lariat! Daivari chops him hard on the chest, Miles comes back with a DDT, both men are down, Miles kips up, goes on offense, plants him with a spinebuster, and Daivari kicks out at 2. Miles goes up top, Daivari cuts him off, Miles blocks a superplex, jumps overr him, Daivari hits a running elbow, taunts him a bit, and Miles catches him with an inside cradle for 2. Daivari blocks a backslide, puts him in the hammerlock, Miles ducks the lariat, schoolboy rollup, gets a near-fall, Daivari connects with the superkick, and drops him with the HAMMERLOCK LARIAT for 3. WINNER: ARIYA DAIVARI.

Daivari actually praises Miles telling him he's got a bright future, but fakes a handshake. "Psyche!" After a commercial for The Broken Skull Sessions with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin airing this Sunday (on the WWE Network), we take a look back at NXT Super Tuesday three days ago where Swerve got the pinfall victory over the NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar in a 6-man street fight. The commentators plug NXT Super Tuesday II where the NXT Championship will be contested between Finn Bálor and Adam Cole.

* Mansoor vs. Colby Corino

They lock up, Mansoor with a side headlock, Corino counters, Mansoor reverses with an armdrag, armbar, hammerlock, both men leapfrog each other, Mansoor catches him, inverted atomic drop, and a lariat. Mansoor clotheslines him in a corner, plants him with a diving bulldog, then puts him in a chinlock submission. Corino throws him off, sweeps Mansoor's legs from under him while on the turnbuckles, mounted punches, standing flipping senton, and covers for 1. Mansoor gets back in the fight, hiptoss, scoop slam, Corino escapes another one, Mansoor counters his waistlock with a German suplex, floats over, puts him on the ropes, and swings him around for a rough neckbreaker. Mansoor puts Corino in the electric chair, turns it into a rolling Samoan drop, and gets the 3. WINNER: MANSOOR.

After a video recap of 205 Live last week in the tag team main event, we're getting a rematch in the main event. Lorcan and Burch make their way to the ring first. Ariya Daivari is on commentary for this match, and he says in 4 years of being on 205 Live that this is the first time he's been on commentary. Ever-Rise storm down to the announce table blaming Vic Joseph for their loss last week.

* Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs. Ever-Rise

Oney Lorcan and Matt Martel start the match, soon after Martel tags in Chase Parker, double team moves, Lorcan backs Parker into his corner, Danny Burch tags in, and they hit double chops. Burch and Parker trade punches, Martel tags in for the attack, Parker tags in, picks him up, and Burch is able to make the tag. Lorcan runs in with a clothesline, connects with a running uppercut, covers, and Martel breaks the count with an elbow drop. Martel tags in, double flapjack into the corner, snapmare elbow to the top of the head, Parker tags back in, hits a snap suplex, floats onto the cover for 2, then puts him in a chinlock. Parker stomps a mudhole in Lorcan, then Lorcan hits Parker with a shoulder tackle. Martel tags in, whips him to a corner, tags in Parker, clotheslines in a corner, drop toehold, and Parker hits an elbow drop from jumping off Martel's back. Martel is back in, double team lungblower, and Martel covers for 2.

Lorcan kicks Martel away, makes the hot tag, Burch punches both of Ever-Rise, headbutt to Parker, headbutt to Martel's midsection, puts his boot up in Martel's face, and hits a missile dropkick. Burch hits a clothesline, head kick, German suplex, and a lariat for 2. Lorcan tags in, they set up for the assisted DDT, they look up the ramp as Parker rolls in, and LEGADO DEL FANTASMA HEAD TO THE RING! Santos Escobar hits Parker in the gut with a steel chair! NO CONTEST.

Raul Mendoza drops Burch with a spinning suplex, kicks Martel in the ribs and a chair shot to the back, and he kicks Lorcan in the head with a Russian legsweep from Joaquin Wilde. They wrap duct tape around Martel's mouth, Parker comes in to help his partner but he gets beaten down and duct taped too. Legado Del Fantasma stand tall, and that's all for 205 Live!
