HAPPY NEW YEAR! Goodbye 2020, and welcome to the first 205 Live of 2021!

Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness welcome us back to the show, and as Mansoor gets in the ring we take a look at him returning to Saudi Arabia for the holidays and taking us through a tour of certain spots in his country. Jake Atlas comes out as his opponent and they will have the first 205 Live match in the new year.

* Mansoor vs. Jake Atlas

The opening parts of this match is filled with headlocks, takedowns, armdrags, reversals and highly athletic evasions. Mansoor makes the first impact by working on the left leg of Atlas and applying the single leg crab. As Atlas kicks him off, Mansoor's head banged against the bottom turnbuckle, so that gives him an advantage, especially after hitting a neckbreaker and then puts him in a cravate to wear down the neck. Mansoor hits a chopblock, dragon screw, back to the leg crab, spinebuster, and the Scorpion Deathlock until Atlas reaches the rope to break. Atlas comes back with a neckbreaker, his leg gives out, Mansoor gets a near-fall, and they trade roll-ups and near-falls. The finishing sequence sees Atlas hitting a brainbuster, Mansoor hits a dragon screw from the ropes, and grapevines the legs while pinning him for 3. WINNER: Mansoor.

Mansoor and Atlas share a sign of respect with a handshake, annd unlike Swerve this one is smooth and genuine.

On NXT two days ago, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik got the victory over Legado Del Fantasma in a tag team match. Gran Metalik motioned to Santos Escobar that he wants a shot at the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, and William Regal has made the match official for NXT New Year's Evil this Wednesday. Well, what about Curt Stallion, the original #1 contender for the title? Well, we get comments from Stallion himself from earlier today. He says he wants to take out Escobar, but instead focuses on tonight's 6-man tag match bringing Ever-Rise into the picture as his partners for tonight.

* Curt Stallion & Ever-Rise vs. The Bollywood Boyz & Ariya Daivari

Such strange teams here. Except for Stallion, I have no idea who we're supposed to cheer for. Stallion and Daivari start the match, they chop each other, and Daivari delivers a belly-to-back suplex. Daivari tells the Bollywood Boyz that he doesn't want to tag any of them in, but Stallion dropkicks him and Samir Singh tags himself in instead. Bolywood Boyz do some double-team work on Matt Martel, then Ever-Rise double-team on Sunil Singh. Martel ends up becoming the "face in peril" for the middle part of the match, suffering a double suplex and a bulldog. After Daivari told his teammates that he doesn't want to tag them in, now he is the one getting ignored. Martel hits a jawbreaker, Daivari gets his chance to tag himself in and wipes out Chase Parker, then he hits a simulaneous clothesline with Martel.

Samir Singh tags in, Stallion gets the hot tag, series of kicks and a discus forearm, running big boot in a corner, hesitation dropkick, pull-up DDT, and a 2-count. Martel tags in, Parker tags in, clothesline in a corner, Stallion tags in, Martel with a drop-toe hold, Stallion hits the jump-up elbow drop, and Parker hits it as well. Stallion hits a crossbody onto Daivari, Sunil rolls him up for 2, and hits a spinning heel kick for a near-fall. Daivari finally works well with his partners... until they hit friendly fire on each other, and Daivari decides to take off. Daivari and the Bollywood Boyz bicker about what's going on, Stallion hits a Fosbury Flop, Ever-Rise hit the double flapjack on the top rope, Stallion follows up with a running headbutt, and that's the end. WINNERS: Curt Stallion and Ever-Rise.

Curt Stallion and Ever-Rise actually worked well together in this match. However, Ariya Daivari and the Bollywood Boyz just could not get along, which spelled their downfall. That's all for 205 Live!
