With the cheap plugs out of the way here's Tuesday's latest wrestling news. Besides Drew McIntyre there are "at least four" WWE superstars with a positive COVID-19 test whose names have not been released (and probably won't be). One was somebody scheduled for SmackDown last week who had to be pulled from the show. One "just returned from COVID" and one is with the NXT brand. (WO)
* Kenny Omega & Don Callis to appear at the Impact Zone New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced their Road to New Beginning tour including dates, locations and scheduled lineups. (NJPW) January 17 - Korakuen Hall: In addition the New Beginning cards have also been announced. (NJPW) January 30 - New Beginning in Nagoya: February 10 - New Beginning in Hiroshima Night 1: New WWE related videos are available below. (PWI) WWE is sending out invitations to people who have previously been part of the virtual audience on the ThunderDome screens to take part in NXT on USA. (PWI) Here's an update on Kris Statlander on her recovery from knee surgery: "It's going. It's a very serious injury. I would say my knee is close to being healed, but it's such an extensive and long recovery process to make sure I'm ready to go. Sometimes it takes people up to a year to get back, but it's coming along for sure. I'm definitely pushing way harder than I need to be, but I do it because I know I'm going to come out stronger in the end." She has a torn ACL repaired last July. In this interview Impact wrestler Cody Deaner talks about his positive mindset: "I would say the thing that has saved my life that way is my family. I have a wonderful, beautiful wife, and I have four amazing kids. So for me, being on the road for 19 days was awesome, because like I said, I'm a road warrior. But then, all of a sudden, I'm just taken off the road, and I'm just at home. I have that time, I'm like, 'okay, I can either focus on panicking right now and like jumping on my computer every day and trying to make things happen that just can't happen. Or, I can just, you know what, I'm shutting 'er down, and I'm just gonna play with my kids.' I was on the road a lot, man, and now I focus on my kids. I'm present more, and whenever things kind of get tough, whether whatever industry it's in, and people get negative, I just, I refuse to focus on that. I mean, there's things that are more important than wrestling. Wrestling, I love. I've loved it since I was five years old. But, my family and my kids are just so much more important to me. So, I can have some political crappy thing happen to me in wrestling, but then I just take one look at my kids, and it, just that all just goes away.
