Samoa JoeIn what has become an "annual tradition" as much as WrestleMania itself, there's been a huge post-Mania bloodletting at WWE. Ten wrestlers were given their releases and wished well in their future endeavors, the most prominent (and disappointing) of which was Samoa Joe. Personally I felt that Joe had stepped up huge for them as both an announcer and an interviewer, and I'm perplexed they couldn't see how talented he was in both roles. He'll be a huge asset to any company that brings him on board. Mickie James was also cut, and although it's not her first time being let go by WWE, I'm sure that doesn't make it sting any less. At least nobody can make the "Bo Dallas? I didn't even know he still worked there" jokes any more because he's gone too. Other names that were cut (at least the ones known to the public) are Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Tucker, Kalisto, Chelsea Green, Mojo Rawley and Wesley Blake. It's kind of surprising to me at least that they released Tucker with out releasing Otis, but none of the rest are a huge shock. (WWE)

All released talent have a 90 day no compete clause and can't sign with any other wrestling promotion until July 14th. (WO)

New WWE related videos are available below.

In this interview Doc Gallows talks about the Good Brothers facing the Lucha Bros.: "It's been fun for me because I've watched those guys. Like I've said before, I'm a fan. I don't always know what's going on as much as I used to because real life gets busy. But, I've been watching those guys forever and I thought they looked really fun to work with. Years ago when I was getting to work with Rey Mysterio a good bit, doing the stuff with Punk, I really enjoyed a great luchador like that with a story with a big guy like me. You can do some really fun stuff. I think those guys are great. I had a great time working with them. I hope there's more of that down the line for sure. Those brothers are talented as shit. It comes off good, and then we're in there hammering the shit out of them and they're not flying on us, so I think it works."

Here Joe Koff says ROH wants to reach out to a hispanic audience: "We do have it in mind and we are aware about the situation. ROH is an American product that has hispanic wrestlers. I do not want to demerit their work, because it is amazing, but then again, for the hispanic fan that is used to seeing the products in Spanish and in a concrete wrestling way, I do not think we are at that point just yet. Of course this is something we have considered, but I am not going to make an announcement just yet. It is a Spanish version of our show (ROH TV), but we are not at that point, yet; It is something we have in our aim and we are concreting how we will be able to do it. I want to offer the hispanic fan the product in the same form they want, not in the form in which an American thinks they should do. I do not like that, that is not my style."

Mike Chioda says he almost called an audible during the Undertaker vs. Goldberg match: "I almost had to call an audible during the Undertaker/Goldberg match at Saudi Arabia. It went downhill after Goldberg got gashed open in the turnbuckle, got concussed. He was badly concussed and he got through the match, but barely. That's when I was kinda worried because I thought, 'oh my God!' After the suplex, they almost broke their necks. 'Oh my God, let's get this done,' he was so concussed. I was waiting to hear back from somebody to say, 'should I call this match or not because he's not doing good at all?' They just let them go. When you were an old school wrestler, you didn't care if you were bleeding - you got through the match, whatever it took, you got through it. You wouldn't see too many guys just saying, 'Oh I can't wrestle no more', or 'I broke my finger', or 'I tore my knee out'. They still get through the match. These days are a little bit different because we take concussion protocol a lot more serious - we are taking it much more seriously now, in wrestling." NOW? Only after Bill Goldberg got knocked silly? Not back in the 80's, 90's, 2000's and 2010's when dozens of people suffered permanent injuries? Mike, you SHOULD have called an audible. It's horrific that you did NOT.

Most people were probably surprised that Aleister Black wasn't among the WWE cuts yesterday, but that's apparently because they've started filming new vignettes for him focused on his childhood. (PWI)

The AEW Dynamite ratings news is VERY good this week as the show was up huge unopposed on Wednesday night, doing 1.219 million viewers (last week was 688,000) and a 0.44 18-49 demo (last week was 0.28). Those are almost their best numbers ever. The only higher demo was December 9th of last year (a 0.45) and the only higher viewership was their TNT debut, which did 1.4 million viewers. (SBD)

In this interview Rene Paquette (Young) talks about WWE cancelling her John Cena interview when she worked at The Score: "John Cena was coming in to do an interview and at this time, I was really trying to get my own shit in and thinking I was funny and was making the segment more about my humor than the actual person. I was talking about stuff that he could not give a shit about. I shouldn't say he didn't care because I didn't even get to do the interview. We're standing in the studio and Adam Hopkins, PR for WWE, he was looking over my questions and as we're counting in they were like, 'Never mind, got it,' and they canceled the interview. I don't know if I've ever talked to John about that."

13 episodes of the old WWF Wrestling Challenge have been added to Peacock. (PWI)

Two matches have been announced for NXT UK next week. (WWE)

* Mustache Mountain vs. Sha Samuels and Noam Dar
* Eddie Dennis vs. Joe Coffey

WWE has declared a quarterly dividend on all Class A and B shares of $0.12 each to be recorded June 15th and paid June 25th. (WWE)

Here Edge talks about his dream match: "Bret Hart, Iron Man match in Toronto. Calgary could be a runner-up for the place for it to happen. I've had the pleasure of getting in with a lot of people I grew up watching and a lot of people that influenced me getting into wrestling and influenced my style once I got in wrestling. I've had the opportunity to wrestle against Shawn Michaels, to wrestle against Ric Flair, against The Undertaker, team with Hulk Hogan, to wrestle Jerry Lawler, Bad News Brown and Rick Martel. All these names that I never thought I'd get the chance to. Bret was a name I never got the opportunity with in front of an audience. Now he and I wrestled once at ring in his house but no one ever saw it. Just to wrestle Bret Hart, it was such a massive influence on how I look at the storytelling of wrestling matches. That would be my dream match."

From WWE: "Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler cunningly staved off three other teams last week to preserve the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Will The Dirty Dawgs be as lucky when they defend against former champions The Street Profits this Friday night? Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins appeared to be on the cusp of recapturing the titles in a chaotic Fatal 4-Way Match last week that also involved Chad Gable & Otis and Rey Mysterio & Dominik. Ford hit a sky-high frog splash on Gable, only to be blindly tagged by Roode before eating a huge superkick from Ziggler, and Roode opportunistically pinned Gable. The Street Profits have relentlessly looked to reclaim the gold they lost three months ago. Is Friday the night they break through? Or will Roode & Ziggler again find a way to victory?"
