In the ring, Schiavone introduces The Pinnacle, then the Inner Circle. He explains the rules of Blood and Guts. It's identical to Wargames. Before the coin toss, Spears grabs the mic.

"There's not going to be a damn coin toss, because we were lured into the match. So advantage for us, and a warning. This does not end well for you. When was the last time we even wrestled a match, Sammy? That guy, right there (points to Jericho) is leading you into very deep waters, Sammy. And next week, I'm the guy who's going to step on your head while you're drowning."

Sammy: "Spears, I don't believe you. And why should I? Ever since you came to AEW, you've been a failure. And come to think of it, you were a failure where you used to work, too. And I don't care if it's 1 on 1, 2 on 1, 3 on 1, you want the man advantage? You got it! And I'll start the damn match! I'll fight you all! I'll start with the popcorn guy if I have to!"

Tony: "Looks like the parlay is over, guys."

Cash: "Guys, I'm begging you. Next week, do not bring this version of Santana and Ortiz. If you bring the soft, complacent Jericho lapdogs you guys have brought, you won't make it out."

Dax: "We know this match will shorten someone's life. My family have already made my peace. You two both have a baby at home. So before next week, I want you to hold your children tight, but more than that, I want you to get down on your knees and whisper a message from Uncle Dax: Daddy's not coming home."

Santana: "You locked up with us! You ever been locked up before? We have. You won't make it."

MJF: "Come on, this is a parlay, let's act like it! Chris, I know you want to hear those two words, and maybe you deserve it. Because without you, there's no AEW. You were the draw, you were the bridge for the lapsed fan to come over. And not only that, you managed to create the best group in AEW, I'll give it to you. But Chris? I can't imagine the pressure you feel. Because every time you come out here, if you don't hit a home run, you take food out of everyone's mouths. You put the company on the line every time you come out, and we can all see the pressure, every time you come out here, your eyes look bloodshot, you look exhausted. As they say, heavy lays the crown. But don't worry about it, next week, we're going to put you to rest and our family will replace you. But I do appreciate it, and next week, I will stand over your lifeless, scarred, mangled body, and utter those words: thank you. Your spot is mine."

Jericho: "You self-righteous little prick. How dare you think you can just claim someone's spot, inheret it like the trust fund mommy and daddy gave you when you were 18? Or maybe you think it's some Tetris game, Jericho moves left, MJF goes right? You said I was curtain jerking in WCW at 25, damn right, and proud of it! But what you don't mention is that I had already headlined arenas in Japan, Mexico, Germany, that's where I learned respect! You want my spot? Beat me next week! We are a family! How long have you known these jackoffs, three months? This man (Hager) had my back when I was threatened in Abu Dhabi in 2012. These 'lapdogs' have scratched and clawed their way to AEW. I brought this man into Inner Circle and he made you quit! So next week, you will never make us surrender, you'll have to kill us! But when you're staring down at the pavement and you see the only spot you deserve, remember this: If 1969 was the summer of love, 2021 will be the summer of violence, and next week, summer starts early for you!"

After a run-down of the card, Michael Nakazawa is in the ring. Eddie Kingston says he's not doing it, and demands Kenny come out and fight him. Kenny comes out and says that's not how it works, especially since The Elite are the ones who should be mad at him. Nakazawa hits him with the laptop twice, but Kingston rebounds with elbows, a suplex, spinning back fist, then threatens to Pillmanize his leg if Omega doesn't get in the ring. Kenny starts trying to bargain, but then says Nakazawa knew what he signed up for, and he's got more than one goon. He calls for Cutler, who is thrown out by Moxley, who attacks Omega, locks in a sleeper, Kingston sets up Omega's leg to Pillmanize him, then demands a match with Kenny from Callis, who gives in and offers any match they want. Backstage, Taz starts bragging about Brian Cage's win, Christian comes in and says that Taz is living vicariously through his team, and he's jealous of Christian for being able to come back like Taz never could.
