Tues. #1 is HERE. To help out the site subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan or support us on Patreon. Don't miss all of today's news updates! With the cheap plugs out of the way here's Tuesday's latest wrestling news.

Ruby RiottIn this interview Ruby Riott (Heidi Lovelace) says she's looking forward to singles competition again: "I've learned so much about tag wrestling pretty much since I've been with the Riott Squad. I have loved it because it's an aspect of wrestling I didn't realize how intricate and difficult it is. People think that because there's another person there that it makes it easier, but that's not always the case. Rarely is that the case. I loved my time with the Squad as a whole. I think because I've been in the tag division for so long, I would love to come back as a singles. It's been a long time and I want to see if I still have it as a singles competitor. It's more about proving it to myself and if I can still go without Liv Morgan doing her flippy stuff and me giving a hot tag. I'd like to return as a singles, but I'm not opposed to the aspect of a tag team. It'd be hard to tag with anybody that isn't Liv or Sarah, but I'd be open to it."

For those who were quick to piss on the idea of her being given a superhero costume by WWE, Killian Dain says Nikki Cross' new gimmick was all her own idea.

STRONG Preview: Lawlor vs Fredericks
With a lot of attention on Friday nights after the announcements of Tag Team Turmoil in July and Resurgence in front of live fans on August 14, even more eyes are flocking to Friday nights. This week, the main event of Ignition will be key as we determine who will be carrying the torch for STRONG as we count down to The Torch at LA Coliseum!

Main event: STRONG Openweight Championship- Tom Lawlor vs Karl Fredericks
The main event of Ignition sees 'Filthy' Tom Lawlor heading into his second defence of the STRONG Openweight Championship against karl Fredericks. After Lawlor defeated Chris Dickinson at Collision to defend his new title for the first time, Fredericks was quick to challenge. Before the Lawlor and Dickinson title match, an elimination bout saw Fredericks direct Lawlor over the top rope, eliminating him. That inspired the Alpha Wolf to make his challenge, but he would only receive derision in response. Lawlor would decry 'Blue Wolf' Fredericks, making the point that he was not pinned or submitted, and certainly a championship environment is a very different set of circumstances for Fredericks.

Yet Lawlor is at risk of looking past his young challenger. As Lawlor's Team Filthy partners JR Kratos and Danny Limelight have learned the hard way in recent weeks, Fredericks has hit a new level of intensity of late. With the chance to represent STRONG on the big stage of The Torch in LA at Resurgence as added motivation, Fredericks should not be ignored, and may not be denied.

2nd Match: Rocky Romero vs Clark Connors

Speaking of new levels of intensity, Clark Connors has found just that ever since shunning the traditional black trunks and graduating from the LA Dojo to become the 'Wild Rhino'. Connors has been a force of nature ever since, and is eager to show the whole world that he is not to be messed with, nor educated anymore; that instead he has harsh lessons of his own to mete out.

One of the people to whom he has a point to prove is Rocky Romero. Rocky's two career victories over his Ignition opponent tonight both came while he was a Young Lion, and when Connors and the DKC teamed up to face Rocky and Lio Rush two weeks ago, the Wild Rhino elected to stampede right through Romero. A wild post match brawl broke out as a huge crowd fought to hold Connors back from Rocky; a singles meeting was inevitable, but who emerges victorious?

1st Match: Fred Yehi & Wheeler Yuta vs LA Dojo (The DKC & Kevin Knight)
Tonight's action kicks off with a special preview of Tag Team Turbulence. The new combination of Fred Yehi and Wheeler Yuta, as well as the LA Dojo side of Kevin Knight and the DKC are two of the eight teams that will be in the first round of the tournament on July 16, and clash with one another Friday as well.

Yehi and Yuta impressed greatly on their debut a couple of weeks ago, and even amid tough competition including Violence Unlimited, the Good Brothers and more besides, are already being considered among the tournament favourites. Conversely, Knight and the DKC, still progressing as Young Lions, are the rank outsiders for the tournaments, but will be looking to show tonight that they are not to be dismissed. As all four men have something to prove, you can't look away from STRONG from the opening bell this week!

Tony Khan talks about his father funding AEW: "It's a great relationship, he's the best. In the end that was kind of where he left it. And it took a lot of fighting, a lot of business plans and a lot of presentations. He definitely didn't just roll over and fund this project. I made a lot of cases, and after I saw I'd done the work that is where he left it. He still didn't really believe it was going to work but he could see I put in the time and had a business plan, and had some ideas and made some connections. Definitely had made some progress. In the end he still didn't really believe in it, but he did take a leap of faith and I'm so glad he did. And that was my dad. He really stole the show in that article. I thought that was really the highlight quote of the whole thing. It's very fitting I think. I really enjoyed it."

Thriving in warfare, will Krugger clinch the Riot and shutdown anyone challenging CONTRA's kingpin Jacob Fatu for the title?

World Middleweight Champion Myron Reed: The "Young GOAT" has competed in every Battle Riot, which gives him the advantage entering the third Riot. Known for his tenacity and igniting unique attacks in the 40 wrestler extravaganza, the Riot veteran Reed is circled by many to be a favorite to win this year's match.

Gino Medina: "The Untouchable" luchador will make his Battle Riot debut. A dirty player, expect Gino to use every trick in the book to try and leverage himself into the victory lane. But what happens if he crosses paths with Richard Holliday?

New Japan plans to film Strong in front of live fans "soon." (WO)

4:00 PM ET. A new report denies that Damian Priest has been dealing with a back injury but rather has been off for an "undisclosed reason" and could be available to WWE "as soon as next week." (FF)

Thunder Rosa talks about her unsanctioned match with Britt Baker: "You know, I wasn't excited for what was about to happen because I know the expectations from this match was really high. Because one, we were the first women in the entire division to main event in AEW. So, it was historical. Two, to have a match of that sort has never been done before on TV. It was another tier of pressure. Three, the fact that you know you have to be very careful, as you know in professional wrestling, Knowing that your life and the life of another person is in your hands. It's crazy. I step in the cage before and the cage is - you closed the door and you know you can kill somebody else or almost kill somebody else - and I know Britt said that she would have laid down and die for this match. You don't know what you're asking for. It's not over. I have so much unfinished business. It's not over."

Tony Khan says AEW is profitable in 2021: "I know the wrestling end is profitable this year. We're going to make money in wrestling this year because of our great partnerships. Our pay-per-views are way ahead of anybody's projections. They're all up year over year. So far, our two biggest pay-per-view events we've ever done have been the two we've done in 2021. They're both up year over year in a major way. Going back to live events with great advanced sales and the big things we're doing like this announcement of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam in New York. The week before, the huge crowd we've already got over 9,000 tickets sold in Newark and we'll definitely sell over 10,000 tickets. I expect to sell out Newark also the week before we're here and just love the schedule as we go into all out this summer. It's a great time to talk about it, so to your point, we've got this great wrestling operation."

A GoFundMe has been launched for Don West as he deals with brain lymphoma.

Speaking of AEW here's a Jora Johl video.

Here Rey Mysterio says he has no need to wrestle his son Dominik one on one in WWE: "We actually talked about this a while back, when my son started to train. The more and more we got to spend time together in the ring and outside of the ring, it came to the point where me and my son were like, there's no need. The connection here is so beautiful, the love - more than father and son, I think we're like best friends. For the moment, there's no time for us to even be thinking, 'How would it be like to face each other?' We're enjoying such a great moment right now within our personal lives, within our wrestling careers. For me, it's a complete blessing, before I end up retiring - to have been able to share these moments with my son. So that thought of possibly facing each other, I think was thrown down the trash a while back."

Eddie Kingston says he doesn't watch WWE: "I don't watch the other product. I stopped watching religiously years ago. I only watch the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. The dudes I know from the Indies that signed there, that's good for them. I don't watch that product or know who would be a good fit. That's not me being disrespectful, I just have to worry about me and AEW. I'm not looking over there. I feel that's when you mess yourself up, when you're looking at the competition and not worrying about yourself. We're not like them."

Franky Monet (Taya Valkyrie) talks about her transition to WWE: "I'm doing great. Thank you. I've just been taking it in day by day and pinching myself every so often. It's been a crazy ride to get here, but I'm just enjoying every moment. Every time I get to be in the ring with this amazing talented roster, as well as learning from some of the greatest legends and producers and teachers that there are in the world of sports and entertainment, I'm honestly just enjoying myself. And I'm very excited for everyone to see the encore of my world premiere, which happens (to)night on the USA Network." Franky also did an interview with Sportskeeda.

WWE is being sued by Jackson Parsons for injuries he suffered when a rented vehical driven by WWE employee Gaitan Thomas struck him while he was on his bicycle. He's seeking medical expenses in the amount of $171,430.38, with future medical expenses projected at $314,850.00. The loss of earnings cited, past and future, are estimated at $75,036.00 to $100,048.00.

Quinn McKay talks about wrestling Angelina Love in her debut: "Obviously, working with Angelina, she is a very mean person and I didn't enjoy losing to her. But I did get to wrestle one of the most influential women in women's wrestling. So, I have that feather in my cap. It was kind of this bittersweet opportunity, where it's like, 'Well, she hates you, but it's Angelina Love.'"

Kevin Kleinrock talks about pitching Wrestling Society X to MTV: "What I went in pitching was based on two things; one was, MTV had always done so much to support pro wrestling. WWF would not have blown up in the 80s if it wasn't for Rock N Wrestling Connection and MTV putting wrestling over. After that, whether it was Shotgun Saturday Night or Sunday Night Heat, there's always stuff on MTV and wrestling to keep the bond there, but MTV was never able to benefit from that. It was a TV show but they didn't get to take any of the growth with it, other than TV ratings. My pitch to MTV was, what years later would be successful with Bellator and Viacom, I pitched to build a business together. Do something where MTV owns a wrestling product because you wouldn't tour The Real World in arenas or make figures of the Jackass guys. In my mind, I'm pitching this big business that's backed by MTV and grow. What I didn't realize at the time is because I was pitching the TV side and not the business side, they didn't care at all. All they cared about what TV ratings. At the time, they were trying to figure out how they were going to get male viewers. MTV had become heavy female viewers and they were looking to build one night of television a week that would be like Guy's Night. They saw something in us for that. What I learned about the executives and the television side is that you have to be very careful of what you say in front of a TV executive. You shouldn't open your mouth unless you want to do everything that comes out of your mouth. When we started talking about creative, I was casually trying to say, 'There are crazy matches they do in Japan like piranha death matches and exploding ring matches,' it was just a non-important conversation, but they latched on to that and were like, 'we have to do that!' That's part of what the Wrestling Society X vision became. I never intended to blow stuff off as often as it happened. I was all for a crazy season finale, but MTV's mission to us was, 'Your TV show needs to be what people can't see on other wrestling shows. We need to deliver big stunts every week.' They literally wanted me to blow something up every week. Literally, every other week something was blowing up because I convinced them to do it every other week. Important to know your audience and not bring things up unless you're ready to deliver."

5:00 PM ET. Sonya Deville's stalker has been transferred from police custody to a mental health facility. (PWI) This was inevitable after he was previously ruled to not be competent to stand trial.

It turns out that Mickie James is going to wrestler for the NWA after all.

Tonight's KUSHIDA match with Kyle O'Reilly is the start of "bigger plans" for the cruiserweight division, and NXT officials are "very high" on KUSHIDA. (FF)
