Kosei Fujita will miss some upcoming New Japan shows due to a shoulder injury. (NJPW)

WWE and their lead attorney Jerry McDevitt were officially served MLW's lawsuit on January 14th and have 21 days from that point to respond to it. (PWI)

Speaking of MLW, chief operating officer MSL teases a huge new signing: "January 21st in Dallas, I am going to unveil my newest signing, right? I scoured the world, I wanted to find the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. I had thousands of video submissions from independent wrestlers, I went everywhere. I went to the everglades and scouted alligator wrestlers. I went to the Middle East and scouted snake charmers, I went over to Asia, sumo wrestlers, I was willing to consider anyone. Nothing was off-limits and I did find, thankfully, and I can't wait to unveil him on January 21st, the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. This guy is going to blow your mind."

2:00 PM ET. Rhino says he was scared of Paul Wight (f/k/a The Giant and The Big Show): "He would pay for the meals, and I'm like, 'Show, you don't have to do that'. He goes, 'I know I don't, you're traveling with me, so I'm going to take care of you'. And I'm like, 'that's really f-cking cool'. So we ended up sneaking a bill, very few times, I've been in situations where I should've been scared but I wasn't. This time, I was scared. Because we were sitting at a bar, right, he was sitting at the end, it was myself, Paul and Nunzio. We buzzed the waitress, or the bartender, I go, 'give us the bill'. So we picked up the bill. He asked for it, and they go, 'oh no, they took care of it'. He literally leans over, looks at us, and goes, 'thank you, but never do that again'. And I go, 'shit, I'm scared'. It was in Philly, they go, 'just grab a room at the Marriott'. Everyone was getting that $99 rate, right? So we go in and the guy goes, it's $199, and we're like, no were with the boys, the wrestlers. Heyman and Show, because they were already checked in, they go, 'we'll park the car while you guys check-in, that way you kill two birds with one stone, same place at the same time'. So they're coming in and they go, 'can we see your car, the keys, we'll take the car, we're going to another hotel'. They go, 'why?' They go, 'he wants $199 for a room plus tax'. He goes, 'no'. He talks to the guy, Show's starting to get pissed, right. He goes, 'well, here's my card'. He goes, 'you know what?' He didn't tell the person to f-off, but he said something along those lines, close. But he went, 'here's my card, I want two rooms' and we're like, 'Show, you can't do that, we're not gonna fucking let you, that's close to $500'. And he's like, 'no, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna call my buddy, this guy is a fucking asshole,' you know talking about him, not at him."

Malakai Black talks about his love of the occult: "I'm big into tattoo culture. I'm very much into the alternative music scene. It's predominately black metal and hardcore. I have a fascination with the occult because I grew up in a certain household that had some very disturbing and interesting things. So I know how to live these cult-like characters because I grew up with it. I understand this. This is part of myself that I can put into these characters. Within a year, two years from that it started taking off. It has to contain an essence of yourself. I do think that when you grow up, you start to understand a lot more of yourself. Especially your past traumas. You start to acknowledge and you start to overcome. And when you overcome them, you can draw from them. You know they don't fight against you. They work with you ... The older you get, the more you understand yourself."

The Fultons and The Highlanders have been added to WrestleCon 2022.

Jay Briscoe says they'll whup FTR's ass if The Briscoes come to AEW: "That's the thing man, if it does happen, when and if, everybody else is going to have to take a backseat. That's just going to be the way it is. Once we get in there, y'all know what we're going to do. Once they see we do us and FTR and we whoop their ass, they aren't going to have no choice but to put us regularly on their television program."

Here's a new Bron Breakker interview.

3:00 PM ET. Freddie Prinze Jr. talks about WWE making movies: "WWE was making movies. I'm not going to say they were good movies, but I can say that because I've been in some dogs myself, y'all aren't allowed to say that or you're just haters. They weren't necessarily great, but they were making movies and they were making them for $5 million a pop, which limits the type of movie you can make, how good they look, and the talent you can get. Money helps make a good movie. Granted, you can pull it off without it. We've all seen great movies made for $1 million or less, considerably less, but for the most part, money can help you get the talent and technology you want. $5 million got you what it got you. They weren't getting distribution, they were relying on the Walmart DVD distribution deal they had. They weren't even attempting to go to theaters because they were making enough money off the Walmart releases. Walmart had paid them in advance because they had a built-in audience."

Here are some new AEW related videos.

4:00 PM ET. Thunder Rosa talks about training with Cris Cyborg: "We trained for about an hour, an hour and a half. Then, I was like, 'I want to have a match with you.' 'What?' Her husband was like, 'Yeah, let's have a match.' We had a really cool match, like a three-minute match. I was like, 'You're going to catch me on a crossbody.' Her husband was like, 'Are you crazy?' I jumped from the cage onto her, she catches me in a really weird way, she rolls back over, grabs me again, and we did this spot maybe like ten times because it was so much fun. 'What am I thinking?' I forget that not everybody is a pro wrestler. We were talking wrestling jargon and I was like, 'You have to sell.' 'Sell?' Just seeing her train live, I was in awe. There have been two times I've been afraid. One, the first time I stepped in a cage when they jumped me for me to figure out what MMA was all about and when she was like 'you wanna train today?' I was like, 'I'm going to die.' We like sparred too. That was really cool. MMA fighters are so in control when they spar with people, especially new people. You're not going to eat their lunch because you want them to learn something and see how they move."

Happy 50th birthday to former NWA world champion and current WWE star Ron Killings a/k/a R-Truth!

Tony Khan says AEW reached 41 million fans globally last year.

In case you had any doubts about it WALTER's official WWE bio page has been changed to Gunther. It appears they dropped the last name Stark after realizing they gave him the same first and last name as a former Nazi officer, but the damage has already been done. What was wrong with WALTER in the first place anyway? (Other than the fact they didn't own a trademark on it.)

Shane Strickland is set for the next TERMINUS card.

6:00 PM ET. Joey Janela's current AEW deal expires in May, but he'd reportedly like to stay on with the company. (FF)

Freddie Prinze Jr. talks about being ribbed by Vince McMahon: "So, I'm on the jet. We're flying back to White Plains, New York, from whatever city we're in. Cleveland or wherever it was, and Vince has me hold out my hands he's got some hand sanitizer and he doesn't like germs. And so he starts to put hand sanitizer in my hands, and as a rib, won't stop. He just keeps squeezing it and squeezing it and he's just staring me down, and I'm staring him down. So I just let him empty the bottle and I just stand up and I slap it down in the sink in the bathroom, wipe my hands, I come back in and he's laughing, he thinks it's great and Kevin Dunn thinks it is the greatest joke that anyone has ever pulled off in the history of jokes. I sit down and Vince goes 'So, heard you had a little problem with Cena today?' 'Nah, man' I try to downplay it, 'Nah, I think he's just testing me, man, all of you guys like to test me.' He goes 'Ah, don't worry about it, I'm the only one who can fire you anyway!'"

Raw did 1.613 million viewers this week, only slightly down from 1.632 the week before, and that's actually a win because they were head to head with the NFL playoffs and it should have been worse. Better yet the 18-49 demo was actually UP from 0.39 to 0.43. (SBD)

Killer Kross (f/k/a Karrion Kross) reveals why he started growing his hair out: "I'm doing a movie this year. And for the character, for the role, they asked me, 'Can you grow your hair out?' And I was like, 'Absolutely'. 'Okay. Cool. We need you to grow it as long as possible and we'll assess from there.' So I was like, perfect, I've been fucking dying to, you know, have an opportunity or a reason to grow my hair out. I've wanted to, but I, as I've said before I've been very committed to the presentation of that character. I've been buzzing and shaving it forever. Yeah, I guess a lot of you didn't know that I could grow hair. To me it's really funny because everyone's talking about this. To me, it's funny, I don't know."

Both AAA and CMLL are postponing shows due to the surge of COVID-19 in Mexico.

Aro Lucha is "pivoting" and abandoning their plans for live events and TV in favor of producing animated programming. (FF)

Kaia McKenna is out of action for 2022 due to a torn labrum. She's a student of Seth Rollins who has been seen on AEW's dark programs.

Ethan Page rates his AEW run to date: "I would say it's exceeded all of my personal expectations. And I had very high personal expectations. I try to set my goals to be unachievable. Shoot for the moon and land on a star kind of thing. To think back to some of the matches and moments I've had in my first year is pretty crazy. I'm hoping it just keeps going."
