It's 2022, and it's already time to the start the Road to WrestleMania, starting with the Royal Rumble PPV! Which man and woman will win their respective Royal Rumble matches? Bobby Lashley looks to regain the WWE Championship in a dream match with the champion Brock Lesnar. Seth Rollins will try to win the Universal Championship from Roman Reigns. Join us for the live results on Saturday, January 29th starting with the pre-show at 7 PM ET/6 Central on social media, and the main PPV at 8 PM ET on Peacock (USA) and the WWE Network (worldwide). Hit F5 or refresh as often as you like for the latest updates!

The Kickoff gets underway at 7 PM ET with the panel of Kayla Braxton, Kevin Patrick, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Booker T and Peter Rosenberg starting to preview the PPV card. Sonya Deville eventually joins the panel to speak on the card as well, and Booker T calls her out on participating in the Royal Rumble as a conflict of interest with double standards. Backstage, AJ Styles comments that something he has yet to do is win the Royal Rumble. We get comments from Damien Priest and he warns the other competitors not to wake up his dark side. It seems as there is no Kickoff match, and we are ten minutes away from the top of the hour.

Time for the PPV at 8 PM ET! The Road to WrestleMania is now open and the path goes through the Royal Rumble! After the brilliant opening video package, the show gets underway in St. Louis, Missouri with 44,390 fans in attendance. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee welcome us to the event and we get started with the Universal Championship match. Roman Reigns is the first superstar out, he's the champion for 516 days, and he comes out alone as The Usos are banned from ringside and Paul Heyman was fired and moved on back to his previous client. Only four men in WWE history have held the world title longer than him. Out next is Seth Rollins to THE SHIELD THEME SONG, he's wearing THE SHIELD ATTIRE, and comes down through the crowd like old times!

* Universal Championship: Roman Reigns {C} vs. Seth "Freakin" Rollins

The bell dings, Rollins taunts him, Reigns is annoyed, quick waistlock and clean break, Rollins ducks a swing and strikes him, Reigns throws him into a corner and clotheslines him twice, Rollins ducks a third and stomps him down, rolls out, forearm smash, sling blade, and clotheslines him out the ring. Rollins hits the suicide dive, gets back in the ring, hits another suicide dive, throws the champ back in, springboards and Reigns uppercuts him in mid-air. Reigns hits the drive-by dropkick on the apron, Rollins rolls out the ring, Reigns jumps off the steps, Rollins counters the Superman Punch with a kick to the mudsection and does the SHIELD POWERBOMB THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!! Rollins throws him back in the ring, gets on the top rope, hits the frog splash, and gets a near-fall! Rollins goes for the Phoenix Splash, but rolls through when Reigns rolls out the way, Rollins blocks the spear, forearm to the front and back of the head, hits the Buckle Bomb, and HITS THE STOMP FOR 1-2-NO! KICKOUT!!!

Rollins stalks from the corner, Reigns clotheslines him, Rollins twisting from the impact, and both men are down. Reigns pummels him, delivers a POWERBOMB, covers for 2, Rollins laughs at him, Reigns gets angry, and Rollins traps him in the triangle choke! Reigns gets to his feet, powers him up for another powerbomb, throws him into the ringpost shoulder-first, throws him into the timekeeper's area, throws him into the steel steps, throws him back into the ring, hits the Superman Punch, and covers for 2.5! Reigns runs around the ring, hits the SPEAR on the floor, brings him back in, Rollins counters the Spear with the PEDIGREE, and Rollins covers for 2.9! The crowd chants "Burn it down" as Rollins gets hyped, Reigns counters the Stomp, Rollins with short kicks to the side of the head, Reigns uppercuts him, hits the SPEAR, and Rollins is LAUGHING at him and says "I'll always love you!" Reigns gets annoyed, Rollins is in his head, so Reigns locks in the GUILLOTINE! Rollins fights through it, reaches for the ropes, fades, the referee Charles Robinson checks his arm and Seth grabs the bottom rope! The ref tells Reigns to release the hold, counts up to 5, and disqualifies him! WINNER by DQ: SETH "FREAKIN" ROLLINS; however STILL the Universal Champion: Roman Reigns!

Reigns still has the Guillotine held on! "He deserves this! He deserves it!" The crowd is booing loudly as Reigns WILL NOT release the hold, but he finally lets go and the crowd chants that he sucks. Rollins comes to, Reigns grabs a chair from ringside, whacks Rollins on the back, and continues to repeatedly batter him with the chair. Reigns looks cathartic as he finally has a slight smirk on his face, steps out the ring, but he goes back to grab another chair, and hits him with the chair a lot more until it's destroyed! Reigns is finally smiling throwing up the One, then he takes his championship and leaves still the Universal Champion.

Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton are on commentary with a destroyed table.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny is grapping the bottom rope to stay alive. #30 is Brock Lesnar! The former WWE Champion has entered into the Royal Rumble match, and he's not in a good mood after what happened earlier by Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman!

Lesnar clotheslines Shane McMahon, clotheslines Riddle, shoulder thrusts and a belly-to-belly suplex to Orton, a belly-to-belly suplex to Shane, and a belly-to-belly suplex to Riddle! Lesnar clotheslines Orton out the ring and the crowd is NOT happy! Lesnar comes face-to-face with Bad Bunny, he drops him with the F5, then eliminates him! Lesnar hits a belly-to-belly suplex to Shane, eliminates Riddle, delivers a suplex and clotheslines Shane McMahon out the ring! We're down to Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre! They go nose-to-nose, the punches fly, Lesnar drives him into the turnbuckles, McIntyre counters the F5, hits the Glasgow Kiss, Lesnar swats away the Claymore, and F5's McIntyre out the ring! 2022 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER: BROCK LESNAR!!

Brock Lesnar points at the WrestleMania sign and the pyro goes off. Which champion will Lesnar challenge at WrestleMania 38? After what happened earlier tonight we may already have that answer. That's all for the Royal Rumble!
