Nickolye's WWE NXT recap for March 22, 2022 at 8 PM ET! Bron Breakker will challenge Dolph Ziggler for the NXT Championship at NXT: Stand & Deliver in a couple of weeks. Tonight however, Breakker will take on Robert Roode on his path to regain the title he lost but was never pinned or submitted to lose. The finals of the Women's Dusty Cup takes place tonight. Also, who will advance to compete in the ladder match for the North American Title at Stand & Deliver? NXT has a makeover in 2.0 fashion. Hit F5 or refresh as often as you like for the latest updates!

Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes show up in th eparking lot, and they talk about the competitors who could earn a spot for the ladder match for the North American Championship.

* Qualifying Match for Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver: Solo Sikoa vs. Roderick Strong

Sikoa goes on the offense but Strong plays defense from the beginning. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams join commentary for the match. Strong shoves Sikoa, and Sikoa responds with an uppercut, hits a shoulder block, strikes with stomps and penalty kicks, and clotheslines him. Strong comes back with hard chops, but Sikoa strikes back. Malcolm Bivens looks concerned at ringside as Sikoa hits a falling headbutt for a 2-count. Strong uses his cunning ring IQ to gain the upper hand in the match and puts him in the chinlock while sitting on his back, then kicks him in the head but only gets a 1-count. Sikoa fires back with forearms, but Strong counters a kick with a backbreaker for 2. Strong hits a hard chop across the chest so that the champ can hear it, Sikoa blocks a suplex, Strong stomps on his bare feet, Sikoa fights back, Strong gets the boots up, kicks him in the chest for a 2-count, Sikoa battles back with headbutts, Strong hits the Angle Slam, and covers for a near-fall! Santos Escobar strolls down the ramp to get a closer look. Sikoa reverses a suplex by throwing him, hard punches, blocks a kick, headbutts him, body blows, avalanche, Samoan drop, and gets a 2-count. Sikoa goes up top, Strong kicks him in the head to cut him off, goes up for a suplex, Sikoa drops him, hits the Uso Splash, and covers for 3!! WINNER: SOLO SIKOA!

Earlier today backstage, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta bickered about following last week on who is more popular after their match and make-out sessions with Dexter Lumis and Duke Hudson, respectively. Breaktime.

* Tony D'Angelo vs. Dexter Lumis

Indi Hartwell, Persia Pirotta and Duke Hudson are all at ringside here to watch this match. D'Angelo slams Lumis down and gloats, but backs off once he slithers towards him. D'Angelo yells in his face after tripping him, but Lumis grabs him for the Silence, D'Angelo blocks it and delivers a belly-to-belly suplex. Lumis hits a Thesz Press, elbow drop, beats him up in all four corners, hits a fallaway slam and kips up. Indi gives him a thumbs up, while Persia and Duke discuss their thoughts on the match. Lumis hits a back elbow for 2, body slams him, jumping legdrop, 2-count, and puts him in a chinlock until D'Angelo counters with a jawbreaker. Lumis slithers outside to continue attacking him, but D'Angelo drops him face-first on the steel steps and puts him his hat to pat himself on the back like Ciampa does before a commercial break.

When we come back, Lumis fights out of a rear chinlock, lands on his feet from a suplex, punches him, clothesline and bulldog combo, back suplex, kips up, jumping legdrop barely catches, and gets a 2-count. D'Angelo blocks the urinage, both men clothesline each other, and Duke Hudson takes off his shirt to mean business. As Hudson distracts the referee, D'Angelo crawls for his crowbar, but Indi takes it away before he can get his hands on it, then Persia takes it away from Indi! D'Angelo grabs the crowbar, struggles to rip it from Persia's grasp, and as he pulls it away the referee ducks and he strikes Dexter in the face with it! D'Angelo hits the spinning fisherman's suplex and floats over for the 3-count. WINNER: TONY D'ANGELO!

Tony D'Angelo: "Tommaso Ciampa! You thought I was coming out here last week to pay tribute? Nah. I sent the hook, and you took the bait. When I put you on your knees, you knew you were finishe.d The new dawn of NXT arrives at Stand & Deliver." Ciampa's music plays, but he shows up behind D'Angelo and hits the Fairytale Ending in the middle of the ring! Ciampa: "Listen, you don't get to tell me when I'm done. Stand & Deliver might be my final chapter here in NXT, and if it is, I'm gonna write my own fairytale ending. I'll see you in Dallas!"

Backstage, the Dirty Dawgs are being interviewed and they don't care to talk about Tommaso Ciampa. Instead, "The Glorious One" Robert Roode wants to talk about himself and reminds us that he is a former NXT Champion. Roode mentions Breakker, and Ziggler chimes in to tell Roode to pummel Breakker but leave some scraps for him. "Good luck kid." Breaktime.

After the break, we get words from Grayson Waller talking about... himself. He reminds us that he was the last man standing two weeks ago. Waller takes on A-Kid and the winner advances to the ladder match at Stand & Deliver.

* Elektra Lopez vs. Fallon Henley

Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza are in Lopez's corner, while Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen came out with Henley. Briggs and Jensen bicker at ringside before the match. Elektra overpowers Fallon at the start, but Fallon comes back with a dropkick, but then Elektra drops her on the top rope and stomps on her. Elektra throws her across the ring, drops her face-first, gets a 2-count, drags her around by the hair, and puts her in the surfboard stretch. Elektra's shoulders were down for a 2-count, kicks her into the ropes, and chokes her on the bottom rope. All four men start battling at ringside to the back. Fallon fights back, hits a back elbow, bulldog, and covers for 2. Lopez delivers a blue thunder bomb for the 3-count. WINNER: ELEKTRA LOPEZ!

Draco Anthony is in the locker room and ignores his phone calls. Xyon Quinn shows up and they talk about Joe Gacy blowing up his phone. They watch a video of Gacy trying to recruit him to "make his life better" and Quinn advises him to handle it and he's got his back if he needs him. Breaktime.

Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai get interviewed for their thoughts on tonight's finals match. Wendy reminds everyone that Dakota won the finals last year with her friend Raquel Gonzalez, and then months later she kicked her in the face. Dakota cuts her off and reflects on the past but tonight she wants to put her name on the trophy again. "Tonight is our night."

* "Glorious" Robert Roode vs. Bron Breakker

Breakker makes sure to keep his eyes on NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler lurking around at ringside. Roode does a side headlock and hits a shoulder block, and Ziggler gives brief comments on commentary. Breakker hits his own shoulder block and has a staredown with Roode. Roode beats him down in a corner, Breakker fights back, catches a leapfrog for a powerslam, and Roode rolls out the ring as Ziggler coaches him. Breakker goes after his opponent, Roode attacks him back in the ring, delivers a beautiful suplex, poses, hits another one, and poses again. Breakker pops back up and clotheslines him, but when he charges at him in the corner, Ziggler saves his partner and Breakker crashes into the ringpost. The referee EJECTS Ziggler from ringside for getting involved before a commercial break!

We get picture-in-picture as the NXT Champion continues to complain about getting kicked out. Roode goes back to work on an injured Breakker, clotheslines him in the corner, hits a neckbreaker, goes up top, flying clothesline, and covers for 2. Roode puts him in a neck crank, switches to a chinlock, Breakker battles out, Roode hits another neckbreaker, snapmare and a kneedrop.

When we come back full-screen, Breakker starts to fight back, but Roode hits a blockbuster, gets a near-fall and clotheslines him. Roode flexes his bicep, hits the "Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner elbow drop, and does some push-ups to mock Breakker's uncle. He hits another neckbreaker, covers for 2, goes up top, he's cut off but he manages to get free. Breakker comes back with the FRANKENSTEINER, hits shoulder blocks, does an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, but Roode comes back with a spinebuster for 2.5! Roode calls for the Glorious DDT, but Breakker counters, clotheslines him, Roode blocks the spear, Breakker rebounds to hit the SPEAR, and takes a while to cover for 2.9! Roode escapes the military press, plants the GLORIOUS DDT, but he can't make the cover right away, but he rolls over for the 1-2-KICKOUT! "This is awesome! This is awesome!" Both men trade punches while kneeling, Roode gets the upperhand, Breakker fights back, Roode with a back elbow, dives off the middle ropes, but Breakker catches him for the POWERSLAM for the 1-2-3! WINNER: BRON BREAKKER!

As Breakker backs up the ramp, Ziggler sneaks up from behind and SUPERKICKS him! Ziggler: "You will never be at my level! You turned you back on the wrong damn man. This stays with me until I give it away! You will never be at my level. Enjoy it kid while it lasts."

In the locker room, Indi is tending to Dexter with an ice pack on his head. Persia and Duke show up, Indi asks if she let go of the crowbar on purpose, Persia denies it, and claims that Duke wouldn't make excuses for losing. Persia says that Duke could beat any man on the roster, which gives Dexter an idea to draw. Duke wants to know what he's up to and says, "He's being weird, what's he actually doing? Nothing good happens when he draws. Hello?" Indi says if they claim Duke can beat anyone on the roster then he can face GUNTHER. Duke questions, "How did you draw that so fast??" Persia is confident that he can beat Gunther, and that gets a delayed response.

KLR and Io Shirai are getting ready for the main event. Breaktime.

After the break, we get a video of Chase U. Bodhi Hayward reads out his report, and brings up Von Wagner sucker punching him weeks ago. A student raises his hand, and Hayward cusses him out. Andre Chase asks where did he learn to speak like that, and Hayward learned it from him. Chase is proud of him, and Hayward challenges Von Wagner to a match next week.

* Qualifying Match for Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver: Grayson Waller vs. A-Kid

A-Kid is ready to out-wrestle Waller and nearly kicks him in the head. Waller tries to keep him down, but A-Kid does a springboard headscissors to send him out the ring. Sanga provides a distraction, but A-Kid gives Waller an armdrag and dropkick, but then Waller drops him on the ropes and kicks the turnbuckle into his jaw. Solo Sikoa is at ringside now to observe who will win. Waller gets a 2-count, A-Kid does a hurricanrana, pop-up dropkick, suicide dive against the announce table. Waller pops back in for the rolling stunner but A-Kid counters into the sleeper hold! A-Kid floats over into the guillotine, Waller counters, then counters a springboard for a Russian legsweep off the ropes, rolls out the ring, then back in to hit the rolling stunner for 3. WINNER: GRAYSON WALLER!

Carmelo Hayes shows up on the apron saying that he realized something - they are missing one man for the match. Next week, the men losers of the singles matches will get a second chance to compete for the title. It'll be Cameron Grimes vs. Roderick Strong vs. A-Kid! Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes step into the ring, Hayes gets in A-Kid's face saying, You might be A-Kid, but you'll never be a champion." Williams adds, "And tonight, I'm taking out the a momma." A-Kid kicks Williams in the head and ducks out before Hayes can get his hands on him.

Backstage, Robert Stone is complaining about Ikemen Jiro. Von Wagner says one thing at a time. A woman shows up to Robert Stone about their business conversation, and they head off to that meeting. Breaktime.

* The Creed Brothers vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

GVY head out when we come back, and Zack Gibson gets on the mic who say they did not jump them from behind weeks ago. Brutus orders the bell to be rung, delivers a gutwrench suplexto James Drake, Julius Creed tags in, mouths off to Zack Gibson, Drake jumps on his back for the sleeper, and Gibson tags in to hit a short-arm clothesline. Julius hits another belly-to-belly suplex, applies the stretch muffler, and Gibson grabs the ropes. Gibson attacks both men, Drake tags in, hits a step-up enzuigiri, and jumps off Gibson's back for a dropkick. Julius fights off both men, but Drake takes control of the match, Gibson tags back in, and yells in his face that it should've been them. Drake goes up top, Julius fights them off, chopblock to Drake, and makes the hot tag. Brutus comes in, hits the press slam, low clothesline, and covers for 3. WINNERS: THE CREED BROTHERS!

Malcolm Bivens and Ivy Nile get in the ring to celebrate with The Creed Brothers. Suddenly, a sound of spraypaint plays and they look up at the big screen of someone defiling their training center! Another person is texting, "Creed Brothers, you clearly can't find us. So we'll find you. Until then, enjoy the view." Breaktime.

* Gunther vs. Duke Hudson

The NXT Tag Team Champions come down to the ring to fill out the Imperium ranks. Indi and Persia are also at ringside. They lock up, Walter backs him to a corner, they trade punches and chops, Hudson slaps him on the chest, Gunther CHOPS him on the chest, and Hudson went down! Gunther dominates for a while, hits the loudest BIG CHOP, and Hudson's chest is bursting red. "Holy shit! Holy shit!" Gunther locks in the sleeper, Hudson blocks it, hits the big boot, slaps him on the chest, Gunther slams him back, Hudson delivers a German suplex and gets a 2-count. Gunther counters a powerbomb, hits a short-arm clothesline, hits more CHOPS, kicks him in the jaw, delivers the powerbomb, and gets the 3-count! WINNER: GUNTHER!

Gunther: "I am the most dominant competitor in NXT! But still I have been overlooked and it's an absolute disgrace that somebody like LA Knight can talk himself..." Well, LA Knight is here with something to say, unafraid to step in the ring with three of them. LA Knight: "Let me talk to ya." Gunther: "Oh shut up! You listen, you represent everything that is wrong in this sport today!" Gunther goes on to say that Knight talks his way into matches that he can't win. Knight tells him not to interrupt him again, Stand & Deliver is around the corner, but he was going to use his words to get a match, but instead he'll go a different route. LA Knight punches Gunther and he gets attacked by Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner. MSK make the save and they clear the ring, with Knight body slamming Gunther and clotheslines him out the ring!

We get a video from Cameron Grimes talking about his father passing away once Grimes signed with NXT, and now he wants to make good on his promise to be a champion in NXT. We get official word that LA Knight goes one-on-one with Gunther at NXT: Stand & Deliver! Speaking of Stand & Deliver, Mandy Rose will defend her NXT Women's Championship against Cora Jade.

* Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai vs. Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai

Toxic Attraction are watching from their Toxic Lounge at ringside to see who Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne will face for their NXT Women's Tag Team Titles. We get the official ring announcement from Alicia Taylor before the match gets underway. The bell dings, Wendy and Io start the match, Wendy with a side headlock, Io lands on her feet from a headscissors attempt and Wendy lays down. Io blocks a drop toehold, tags in KLR, hits the basement dropkick, KLR covers for 2, chops her, Wendy with rapid palm strikes, drop toehold, pins her for 2 and dropkicks her. Dakota tags in, they both kick KLR down, and she covers for 2, and does another rollup for 2. Io gets the tag, KLR trips Kai onto the ropes, Wendy blocks the tiger feint kick with her pillow, Io kicks her, sends Kai out the ring, KLR hits the suicide dive to Choo, then Io does the same to Kai against the announce table! Toxic Attraction look on as we take our final commercial break!

And what's a main event match without picture-in-picture? Io brings Kai back into the ring, KLR tags in, hits a big forearm in the corner, enzuigiri, tornado DDT, and gets a 2-count. Io tags in, body slams her, 2-count, then locks in the crossface. Wendy makes her way back onto the apron as Dakota battles out of the hold and hits forearms shot, but Io comes back with palm strikes. Dakota drops her with a spinning neckbreaker and both women make the hot tags.

When we come back from break, Wendy clotheslines KLR, overheaad belly-to-belly throw, cartwheel forearm smash, Naptime elbow drop, and covers for 2. Wendy sends Shirai into the ringpost as Dakota hits the Kai-ropractor, hits the double stomp, Wendy tags and follows up with the back splash, and covers but Io breaks the count with a missile dropkick knocking Kai into the pile breaking the count! Io hits Kai with the double-arm backbreaker, Wendy plants Shirai with the full nelson slam, KLR headbutts Choo, plants her with the KLR Bomb, Io tags in, lands the Diving Moonsault, and covers for the 1-2-3!!! WINNERS and 2022 WOMEN'S DUSTY CUP CHAMPIONS: IO SHIRAI & KAY LEE RAY!!

Toxic Attraction leave the lounge with their drinks, titles and sad faces. Good match with all four ladies involved. Congratulations to Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray on winning the tournament! Mandy Rose orders the music to be cut and Toxic Attraction enter the ring as confetti falls. Rose congratulates them for winning, claim that Wendy and Dakota blew it, and they taunt them. KLR says when they entered the tournament they only wanted to destroy the group, and Io adds that Rose said she would defend the title against any women. Kay Lee Ray tells them that theywere going to cash in their tag title opportunity, but they decided to make the NXT Women's Title match at Stand & Deliver a FATAL 4-WAY! Toxic Attraction attack them, but Cora Jade comes out to aid in the fight to close out the show!
