Jay WhiteIn this interview Jay White talks about the reaction to his AEW debut: "It did a little bit. It doesn't surprise me in the sense that, I know my own worth, but it did in the sense that I had no idea what the reaction would be to a bigger, more mainstream audience. Whether they love me from the start or not, that doesn't bother me because I know over time people are going to realize my ability, that's how it's been from the start. When I back to New Japan, people thought I was put in a position I shouldn't have been, people can argue about that all day, but what you can't argue is that where I'm at now, I was right about that. In terms of that reaction, it was a little surprise, but in a good way. I had nothing to go off in terms of gauging what an audience that size whether they would know me or how they would feel about it."

Talks between WWE and Cody Rhodes have apparently not been as productive as one would think given he and Brandi left AEW. In fact they have allegedly "fizzled out" and he may not be coming in at all. (BSN) This of course leaves open the possibility he could return to AEW with a new deal from Tony Khan, perhaps one that would even make him the face of a ROH faction within the company now that Khan owns Ring of Honor.

Coincidentally Tony Khan says they won't create a new EVP to replace Cody, but they need a new Chief Brand Officer to replace Brandi: "They were both big parts of the company from our launch. I give them so much credit for being a big part of our success, both of them. I'm not planning to replace the Executive Vice President role. I take on a lot of responsibility myself and we have some great people in that position right now, other Vice Presidents, and I work with a great team. For that position, we'll have to look, and also for the Brand Officer position, you know, Brandi has been awesome for us. So that one I will likely fill, but right now we're just moving forward. I think the company's stronger than it's ever been today. So right now, everybody's on the road to Revolution."

In addition Tony Khan talks about whether or not wrestlers will use their Who We Are songs for their entrances: "I'm leaving that, to some extent, up to the wrestlers themselves. Especially because I think those are great tracks and there are examples where I think they are great songs to tell the stories of the wrestlers and other examples where they are great entrances. Some people have wanted to use them as their entrances and other people have not, so I'm taking it on a case-by-case basis. For example, we were at the Dark tapings and we experimented with Will Hobbs using his song off the album. He came out and said, 'I really like it, but in the future, I'd like to use my original song.' He felt like he gets a big pop and he established it, so he loves the song off the track, but for the arenas and matches, he would use his original song."

Wardlow wasn't happy with MJF's actions on Dynamite: "I've never been a believer on 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 or jumping someone. I've been jumped before. Most of the fights I've been in have never been 1 on 1. It's always been a couple people. But I remember being at a bar and me and a guy got into it and a buddy of mine blindsided him and I threw my buddy on the ground and I said, 'Don't you ever hit somebody blindside. I don't care if they're trying to fight me, you don't do that as a man. You fight people face to face.' So the actions last night, not a fan of them."

Larry D talks about the lessons he learned from Tracy Smothers: "Tracy Smothers is huge to me. I feel that Tracy Smothers taught me how to fire a crowd up, how to piss them off and how to cool them down, I guess you could say. I got to grow up watching Tracy Smothers in Georgetown. So from there I watched him on WCW, ECW and Smokey Mountain. Even better is that I got to share a locker room with him and share a ring with him and get to know him as a person. He would always pass advice on. One thing that I love about Tracy Smothers is that he tried to watch every match on the card. I tried to always, always say, 'Hey, don't do this. There's no need for that,' or 'Hey, you should do this next time.' He was always helpful. So I try to do a little bit of that myself. Probably not as good as old Tracy, but I try my very best."
