NXT Level Up

Written by Nickolye

Welcome to the new WWE show called NXT Level Up! Several matches have been announced for the premiere episode. Kushida vs. Edris Enofé; Harland vs. Javier Bernal; and Tatum Paxley & Ivy Nile vs. Kayla Inlay & Falllon Henley are all scheduled for tonight. Watch along on Peacock at 10 PM ET and hit F5 or refresh as often as you like for the latest updates!

This show replaces the now-defunct 205 Live which no longer featured the cruiserweights the show was made for. The commentators for this show will be Sudu Shah and Nigel McGuinness. It's time for NXT to Level Up!

Joe Gacy welcomes everyone to NXT Level Up and plans to use the ring to resolve any conflict, but Harland will be the first man to start the show in the show's first match.

* Harland vs. Javier Bernal

Harland overpowers Bernal for most of this match, as expected. Bernal gets in a small offense, but Harland ends it quickly with a suplex slam for the win. WINNER: HARLAND.

I'm not sure what the sitaution is, but I can barely even hear the commentators at all. The voice-overs for the Elimination Chamber commercial are much clearer.

* Fallon Henley & Kayla Inlay vs. Tatum Paxley & Ivy Nile

Malcolm Bivens comes out with Ivy Nile for the match. Paxley and Nile are dominating this match over the NXT hopefuls with tag team moves. Nile delivers a German suplex and holds Henley down with a head scissors, and even does push-ups during it. Nile and Henley trade covers, Inlay tags in and body slams Nile, then drives her shoulder into her midsection and drops her with a sidewalk slam. Paxley breaks the count, Henley throws her out the ring, and Nile locks in the hammerlock dragon sleeper for the tap-out victory! WINNERS: IVY NILE & TATUM PAXLEY.

Again, I'm forgetting that there's actually commentary because I can hardly hear a clear word they speak. Not a bad show so far, although this is more like the Main Event of NXT.

* Kushida vs. Edris Enofé

Ikemen Jiro heads out with Kushida, and Malik Blade accompanies Enofé to the ring. This is a technical match from the start with several holds and counters. Kushida catches with with a hurricanrana then goes to work on the arm with a twisting hammerlock and the crowd is on his side. Enofé hits a reverse sling blade for a 2-count then puts him in a surfboard stretch, and even locks in the half crab until Kushida reaches the bottom rope. Enofé delivers a suplex, gets a 2-count, goes up top, but Kushida cuts him off with a handspring kick. Enofé fights him off but Kushida dropkicks him in mid-air! I must say the commentary have finally gotten a little louder, but the "Holy shit" chant from the crowd is much more audible. Kushida does a hiptoss, cartwheels into a dropkick, hits a tornado DDT, and goes for the cross armbreaker as the crowd chants "Tap! Tap! Tap!" Enofé fights back, Kushida hits a Pele kick, Enofé dropkicks him in the back, hits a shooting star press, and covers for 3!! What an upset! WINNER: EDRIS ENOFE!

That's a shocking win in my book! Like I said, this is not a bad show, and already has better matches than the failing show previous. Enofé and Kushida hug it out after the match and respect is shown to Jiro too. The crowd was definitely louder than commentary, so they need to work on it. All in all, a decent half-hour show. Good night!
