Written by Ian Clark

Tonight, a very special episode of Dynamite, coming, for the first time, from Canada, specifically the largest city in Canada, Toronto! I already know it's a great show, because I'm doing this recap from a replay after having been there live last night! I needed to see if I was on TV. In the main event, Orange Cassidy challenges PAC for the All Atlantic Championship, while elsewhere on the card, Chris Jericho defends the ROH World Championship against Bryan Danielson, Daddy Ass fights Swerve, and Jungle Boy looks for revenge against former best friend Luchasaurus.

Renee Paquette comes out to kick off the show. The pop wasn't as loud as it was, like, three minutes earlier when she came out before the show to introduce Tony Khan. It's still a huge pop though.

She introduces herself, then Christian Cage.

Renee: "Christian, how does it feel to be here, back in Toronto?"

"It feels great to be back in Toronto, and as the face of not only the city of Toronto but the country of Canada, I'm going to go ahead and guarantee a victory tonight, and this guarantee is locked in, it's like the Toronto Maple Leafs going out in the first round of the playoffs, it's guaranteed. (This gets a mixed reaction from the crowd) Now introducing my right hand of destruction, Luchasaurus!"

Match One: Luchasaurus vs. Jungle Boy

Christian stays at the commentary table.

JB opens with a running dropkick, chop, punches in the corner, chages, Lucha presses him to the apron, JB with a shoulder tackle, dropkick into the middle rope, stands on Luchasaurus, drops down to the floor, punch, stares at Christian, wrenches Lucha's arm, both men back in the ring, Lucha with an overhead takedown into a German, JB with a chop, Lucha sets him up top, punches him to the floor, grabs the announce table, sets it up at ringside, Razor's Edge, blocked, JB with a punch, Lucha shoves him into the ring post, misses a chop and hits his hand on the ring post, JB wrenches his arm in the ring post, boot, kick on the floor, chop, arm wrench, Lucha shoves him into the apron, then into the barricade, then into a different part of the barricade, breaks the count, back suplex onto the apron, both men into the ring, stomp, strips the bandages from JB's back, punch to the back, JB with chops, Lucha with a suplex, shoulder tackle in the corner, chop, JB with a chop, Lucha with a whip, JB sells hard, Lucha stands on his head, then does it again, a third time, a fourth time, JB powers his way out, slides away, ducks a spear in the corner, Lucha lays out across the table, JB with a suicide dive, reversed into a chokeslam, reversed into a hurricanrana into the ring post, JB with a fireman's carry on the apron, blocked, Lucha goes for a Razor's Edge, blocked, JB with a forearm, superkick, shoulder tackle, sunset bomb through the table, Christian leaves the booth and heads down, JB rolls Lucha into the ring, staredown with Christian, Luchasaurus sits up, the crowd starts chanting "Edge is better" at Christian, Lucha and JB trade shots in the ring, Lucha with a backwards DVD, sets JB up top, follows, JB with punches, slides through, crotches Lucha, punch to the back, mounted punches, tree of woe, running dropkick, reversed into a leg-initiated takedown, chokeslam for two, burning hammer, blocked with elbows, JB goes for a DDT, reversed into a burning hammer, reversed into a crucifix bomb for two, Killswitch, reversed into an electric chair, reversed into a poison rana, Killswitch for two, snare trap, Luchasaurus nearly makes the rope, JB hooks the arm, Lucha gets the other hand around the rope, Christian blocks JB from draggin Lucha back into the middle of the ring, JB chases Christian, thinks better of it, goes up top, Christian with a distraction, Lucha with a chokeslam from the top, Burning Hammer for three.

Page suggests Page vs. Kassidy on Rampage. Kassidy wins, Private Party are free. Page wins, Matt Hardy has to join The Firm. Hardy accepts.

Back in the ring, QT Marshall calls the name WarJoe uncreative. Before the show came back from commercial, he also vowed not to let AEW come back to Canada for another three years, then threatened to make it 20 if the crowd complained.

Alex Marvez is about to interview MJF about his pseudo face turn. Stokely Hathaway starts to interrupt, and MJF says last week was strike one, interrupting him was strike two. He gets back to Marvez, and says that he and Regal have a dark past that Regal probably doesn't remember, that he honestly can't say whether or not he was going to shake Yuta's hand, that he was taught at a young age that nice guys finish last, he knows everyone hates him, but he has no choice but to be the bad guy. He says he doesn't like himself either when he walks through the curtain, but it's what it takes.

After a commercial, Schiavone introduces Moxley.

"Jon Moxley, we are six days away from you defending the world title in your home town, not against just anyone, against the former world champion, Hangman Page."

"After three years, damn it's good to be in Toronto! And for much of that three years, I have been the AEW World Champion, and they have come from far and wide, all sizes, shapes, and styles to try to knock me off the mountain. They all think they have what it takes, but they haven't walked a mile in my shoes. Being champion isn't easy. You have a target on your back, everyone wants a piece of you, you wake up in pain every day. Some guys get there and crumple under the pressure, some faster than others. The world champion doesn't have the luxury of being anxious, there is no time for hesitation or ambiguity. But goddamn I love this job. But that does bring me to our boy, the cowboy, Hangman Adam Page."

Page comes out. "Whatever you have to say about me, I want you to say it to my face. Actually, you said it all last week. You said you respected me in the ring, you said you respected me as a person. And I would be lying if I didn't tell you that, coming from you, that meant the world to me. Because I have watched you for these past three years, and I've come to respect who you are in the ring, and who you are outside of it too. You are a hell of a champion, a hell of a father, a hell of a husband. And there have been times when I looked at you and saw the kind of man I wanted to me. (MJF appears in the sky box) You can watch all you want, you better listen. But you shattered all the illusions I had about you last week when you called me a nice kid. A kid, is that how you look at me? Am I a kid to you?"

"That's exactly what I think about you. I don't think you're the same guy who knocked me off a ladder a year ago. Next week, if you have the shot to take me out, I don't think you've got it in your guts to pull the trigger."

"Yeah, maybe you're right, maybe I'm not the same guy I was this time last year. I hesitated in May, and it cost me the championship. I went for the trios championship with my best friends, and we failed. And I have to watch week after week as they seemingly disappear. My old friends, they did disappear. So maybe I'm not the same guy. I'm angry, I can't sleep at night, I'm anxious, I'm depressed, the medicine is not working, but I'm still here because I am a man! I'm a former tag team champion, I'm a former world champion, I've watched my family members be lowered into the ground, and I've brought new life into this world, and I keep coming back because I'm a man! I know what I have to do next week in Cincinnati, and I don't care if your cousins are there, your sister is there, your mother is in the crowd, I will beat you to within an inch of your life to take back what I never should have lost. I have nothing left, just my shot and my word. So this is my word. I will be the next AEW World Champion. That is my word. And unlike him (MJF) I wanted to come out here and make sure I could tell you that face to face, man to man."

He shoulder bumps Mox on his way out, they stare each other down, and Page leaves.

They show a promo for the ROH World Title match.
