(411) TMZ is reporting that the athletes named as "O.G" and "M.J." in the records of Chris Benoit's physician Dr. Phil Astin are Rey Mysterio (real name: Oscar Gutierrez Rubio) and former WWE wrestler Mark Jindrak, who now wrestles in Mexico. WWE was asked for comment and replied with, "We cannot comment on this ongoing investigation at this time."
The Philadelphia News has an article up today that features Bruno Sammartino talking about the Chris Benoit situation and deaths in wrestling. "It blows my mind that there are all these investigations in baseball, football and what have you where there have been no reported deaths, and yet when it comes to wrestling, it just goes on like it doesn't matter, it's not important, it doesn't exist."
The Fox affiliate in Atlanta has a new story up on the Chris Benoit situation. The article features comments from two friends of the Benoits. The first, James Robison, said that he had called Benoit to tell him to keep the 4th of July open for a get together, and that Benoit had told him he was going on the road and would call him when he got back. Robison said that he found nothing strange about the conversation. The other friend, Rev. George Dillard, said that Nancy was very interested at church every Sunday but did not seek marriage counseling. They both said the incident did not fit with the Chris Benoit they knew.
