ECW had a another solid week at 1.5 according to www.PWInsider.com which is the exact same rating as last week. PWI also reports that AM Raw this weekend scored a 0.8. ECW is still way down from the record highs of last year but well up from near fatal lows which might have put them behind TNA Impact in the ratings.

Speaking of record lows, bad news for WWE stockholders though as the company hit a low not seen since 2005 when its shares closed at $13.89. (PWI) That's also bad news for yours truly since I bought 57 shares back in June of this year. Ahh June, what a shitty month THAT turned out to be. The irony is that WWE announced that they will be issuing a $0.24 cents per share quarterly dividend on September 14th, to be paid out September 26th. That's good news for Vincent Kennedy McMahon since as the largest shareholder he'll take home approximately $11.7 million dollars. I'll be taking home $13.68. GREAT! At the current price I could reinvest and buy ONE MORE SHARE!

At least Iron Sheik is still good for a laugh - LITERALLY. According to the Howard Stern Radio Show Iron Sheik will now be touring with The Killers of Comedy. Other notables on this tour include Jim Florentine, Richard Christy and Beetlejuice. Get your tickets now kids!

Shantelle Taylor posted a statement about her release from WWE on her MySpace page. Quoth Taylor: "I would like to thank all my fans for the loving support. Without you I would not be able to do what I love and that's to wrestle. My experience with WWE is something that can never be replaced. It gave me the opportunity to get a taste of what it's like to live your dream. None of you should be worried about me though! I have lots of goals and aspirations. I'm a fighter!! This is fuel for me, I'm going to use this negative and turn it into a positive. I'm 21 years old and I have my whole life ahead of me." That she does, and seeing how WWE uses their "divas" these days she's probably better off anyway.

Here's an amusing note from F4W - WWE is no longer going to be put nameplates on championship belts - allegedly this is a "cost cutting measure." Even "The Big Gold Belt" will no longer carry one. As if we didn't already know titles don't have any value any more, now even pretend champions will be able to hold up their fake belts with pride and point to their name to proclaim themselves the best in the business.

Bret Hart's autobiography is due to come out on October 16th. (411) A perfect stocking stuffer for, uhh... Halloween? Well I'm sure his stories of what happened backstage at shows will be scarier than any skeleton or witch.

Speaking of retired wrestlers, Lance Storm posted an update on his website stating that his recent match with Robert Roode is intended to be his last. Godspeed to Mr. Storm - may he live to grow old in an industry where far too many people do not.

For what it's worth Hulk Hogan is going to have a cameo in Scary Movie 5. (411) Great. Fabulous. Didn't that series jump the shark around Scary Movie 2 or 3?

Finally in an item I really hate even mentioning (which would be why it's last, natch) the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports there is now an ongoing legal battle over how to divvy up Chris Benoit's estate. Apparently which heirs inherit his assets hinges on who died first on the weekend of June 23rd - Nancy or Daniel. I hope to God I don't pay any more lip service to this issue from here on out.
