09/25/07: Is Chris Jericho Returning To WWE?

Much speculation in the wrestling world this evening on the return of Chris Jericho. On Monday Night Raw a Matrix-style promo aired with just letters and numbers. Slowed down, they contain cryptic phrases such as "Save_Us.222" and "Flame_05.07OCT".

Those who have dedicated the time to try to decipher this have concluded that it signals the return of Chris Jericho at the WWE No Mercy PPV on October 7th. Added to that, Chris Jericho posted on his MySpace page today "I'M COMING BACK."

But does this mean Jericho is returning to wrestling? Doubtful. Jericho is in the middle of promoting his new book, "A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex", from now until the end of November. Most likely Jericho's return will only be to promote his book and maybe some on-air segments, with no wrestling involved. Jericho has shed much of his professional wrestling image over the last few years, and is more recognized in celeb circles as a musician and actor than as retired professional wrestler.
