That dream fight everybody wants between Randy and Fedor? Keep dreaming. Today on the Fight Network website Loretta Hunt revealed that Fedor Emelianenko has committed exclusively to the new ownership of M-1 Mix-Fight Championship, which has been purchased outright by an undisclosed American entertainment-related company. The words "committed" and "exclusively" exclude almost any possibility of Fedor coming to UFC. This means the rumors of a Fedor v. Randy fight in early 2008 are now out the window; perhaps even more strange is that Frank Trigg had been floating rumors that Fedor had signed with M-1 and they turned out to be 100% correct. It will be worth seeing if M-1, which allegedly intends to have a "global presence" with their new American investor, can make a dent in the US PPV market with a fighter who is well known among hardcore fans but who hasn't had the mainstream exposure of even the lowest level UFC, WEC or EliteXC fighter.
