Gleison Tibau vs. Tyson Griffin

In the first and the second Griffin clearly got the better of any standup exchanges, landing several hard rights and a lot of kicks. Any time Tibau got into trouble he did a takedown in defense but Griffin got up so quickly they felt completely meaningless. I'm calling it 20-18 for Griffin, but my friends believe Tibau did enough in round two to make it 19-all.

Round three is more of the same - Griffin connecting with rights and body shots, Tibau defending. JUDGES SCORECARDS: 30-27 FOR THE WINNER BY UNANIMOUS DECISION - TYSON GRIFFIN. Joe Rogan asks Tyson to talk him through the replay: "To be perfectly honest I'm not totally satisfied with this victory." Judging by some of the light booing from the crowd they weren't either.

Rob Yundt vs. Ricardo Almeida

Almeida gets Yundt in a bad position immediately, gets an arm in for a guillotine, Yundt tries to flip out of it and only ends up on his back making it even worse. Yundt has nowhere to go but tap! FIGHT STOPPED AT 1:08 OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR THE WINNER BY TAPOUT DUE TO A GUILLOTINE CHOKE: RICARDO ALMEIDA. Almeida tells Rogan that he got his very first UFC victory in the same building, so Las Vegas is clearly good luck for him. From 2001-2008, Almeida is back in the UFC again!

Jeremy Horn vs. Nathan Marquardt

Marquardt had Horn on the ground early in the round, landing some big bombs. Action stalled out in the guard and Marquardt let Horn back up. Horn nearly pulled off an omoplata in the last minute of the action but I'll still score it 10-9 for Nate.

In round two Jeremy charged in for a takedown and ended up running straight into a VICIOUS guillotine choke. Marquardt looked like he was ready to rip Horn's neck off. He tried to escape and only helped Nate sink it in tighter before the tap. STOPPED AT 1:37 OF R2 DUE TO A GUILLOTINE CHOKE FOR THE WINNER NATE 'THE GREAT' MARQUARDT. Nate notes his afterparty is at Trist immediately after thanking God for his training partners. Chuck Liddell works his way up through the crowd to cageside as we go to the UFC text voting poll, which Lesnar is winning 57 to 43%.

David Heath vs. Tim Boetsch - Bonus Fight
Boetsch and Heath traded jabs and clinch work through the first half of the first period, until Boetsch landed a right hand that dropped Heath to one knee. Boetsch pounced and tried to finish the fight with strikes, but the game Heath stood in and landed a hard shot. With about 25 seconds left in the round, Boetsch threw Heath into cage - threw him down like a sack of garbage - I'M DONE WITH YOU BEGONE - straight onto his head! When Dean didn't stop it immediately he unloaded a barrage of punches to force the stoppage at the 4:52 mark of round one. WINNER BY TKO AT 4:52 OF R1 - TIM 'THE BARBARIAN' BOETSCH. OUTSTANDING UFC debut for Boetsch.

Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar

Lesnar shoots in right away and takes Mir down, and starts pummeling him from every which direction... including the back of the head, which forces the referee to stop the fight and dock Lesnar a point. Lesnar goes on attack again when it's restarted but he keeps getting overanxious and leaving Mir open for armbar attempts. When those fail he manages to grab a leg and hold on, forcing Lesnar to tap multiple times before the ref notices, slapping him repeatedly on the ass. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN 1:30 OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR THE WINNER BY TAPOUT DUE TO A KNEEBAR: FRANK MIR! Mir is obviously elated and notes he couldn't armbar Lesnar due to his beef, so he went for the legs. Lesnar immediately gets booed in his interview with Rogan. "I was trying to get a bunch of shots in on him, left my leg open. No excuses, he's a top notch jiu-jitsu guy and he got me tonight. You win some you lose some. You'd like to win 'em all but you can't." The crowd turns around on him after this and applauds after Joe thanks him for the fight. Mir's face definitely shows the wear of the beating Lesnar gave him, so if Brock can learn to defend submissions better he still has a chance to be huge in UFC. After all he's only 1-1 in MMA thus far.

Tim Sylvia vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (UFC Interim Heavyweight Title)

Nog got a takedown at the VERY last second of the first round, but other than that he was getting rocked by Tim the entire round, including a left hook and right hand combo that sent Nog reeling to the canvas. One of the most exciting Sylvia rounds I've ever seen and that's no bullshit. 10-9 Sylvia.

Round two - Tim Sylvia's sprawl really impressed me in this round. Nog was trying VERY hard to get a takedown and Sylvia stuffed it with great technique. Between that and landing more strikes I'd call it another 10-9 Sylvia round.

Nog finally changes strategy in round three and pulls guard, rolling Sylvia over and catching him in a guillotine for the submission! The replay shows Nog making a beautiful sweep, Sylvia trying to scramble to escape, and Nog using some world class jiu-jitsu skills to tap him out. 1:28 OF R3 TAPOUT TO A GUILLOTINE CHOKE FOR THE NEW INTERIM UFC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: ANTONIO RODRIGO 'MINOTAURO' NOGUEIRA!!! "I feel very good for the opportunity to fight here. Couture he can come back in the future, I would love to fight him against me. I was waiting for a good opportunity, first submission didn't work, second was very tight." Rogan says to talk him through the replay and Nog has ALREADY been trying very hard to talk through it. I'm not sure whose english is more broken - Wanderlei or Antonio, but they're both great men. He manages to spit out "I love America" and invite everyone to his afterparty at the end. Sylvia congratulates him as a legend and notes that even though he kicked his ass for 10 minutes, he still lost, then thanks God and says he'll be going to an afterparty at LAX.

Chris Lytle vs. Kyle Bradley - Bonus Fight
Chris Lytle came out and nailed Kyle Bradley just 33 seconds into the first round. Bradley tried to get off first with a hard punch, which Lytle countered with a right hook, and another, and another. Bradley tried to retreat but Lytle was right on top of him, unloading with shots until referee Yves Lavigne stepped in to save Bradley. WINNER VIA KO AT 0:33 OF R1: CHRIS 'LIGHTS OUT' LYTLE.

Keita Nakamura vs. Robert Emerson - Bonus Fight
First round - slow paced with Emerson getting the better of sparring exchanges. Second round - Emerson causes some swelling in Nakamura's face and continues to peck away with leg kicks and head jabs. Third round Emerson gases out after 3 minutes and Nakamura may have edged it out with right jabs and a left hook. Judges score the fight 30-27 (twice) for Emerson, and 29-28 for Nakamura, giving Robert Emerson the split decision win. WINNER VIA SPLIT DECISION: ROBERT EMERSON.
