Welcome to Unforgiven! We're starting right off the bat with the ECW title match.

* ECW Championship Scramble

Matt Hardy and The Miz are the first two men starting off the match. Striker is reminding us that only the last man to get a pinfall within the 20 minute time limit will be the champion. Meanwhile Miz and Hardy are trading near falls and slugging it out. Chavo came in and picked up a pin on Miz. Hardy just picked up a pin on Chavo and has Miz down on the mat. The fourth man is Mark Henry. They all have Henry in the corner but he tosses them off. World's Strongest Slam on Chavo - Henry picks up the pin. A Twist of Fate by Matt is countered. Henry beats up Miz. Chavo comes back in and leaps into a bear hug. Matt meets the same fate. Finlay is the last man in. Finlay hits a DDT for a near fall. Bear hug on Finlay. Hornswoggle is in and the distraction leads to a shilelagh shot! Matt and Finlay toss Henry out! Celtic Cross by Finlay for a pinfall! Finlay is the new interim champion. Miz goes up top and gets a missile dropkick on Finlay. Twist of fate by Matt! He pins Miz! Matt is the interim champ! Back and forth we go right up to the end when Matt tosses out Chavo, Henry splashes Finlay for two and Matt breaks it up. Miz gets tossed to the floor as does Chavo. Finlay slams Matt, Chavo comes back in, they all keep breaking up near falls and time expires with Hardy the last to get a pin! WINNER AND NEW ECW WORLD CHAMPION: MATT HARDY!!

After Hardy celebrates we get a WrestleMania 25 video package. Matt and Jeff celebrate some more backstage and Matt says he wants Jeff to win his scramble match too so they can make it a clean sweep. Meanwhile we see CM Punk and HHH preparing for their scramble backstage.

* Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase {C} v. Cryme Tyme (Tag Team Championship Match)

Cody and JTG start the match. They clinch and go to the corner where Cody hides in the ropes. Uppercut and a dropkick by JTG. DiBiase and Shad tag in. Shad clotheslines the champs to the floor and backdrops JTG onto the champs on the outside. Back in and JTG covers Cody for a near fall. Cody slams JTG to the corner, tags in DiBiase and takes a hip toss. Shad gets the tag and he tosses JTG onto DiBiase! Cover for a near fall. Shad misses a clothesline in the corner. DiBiase Jr. comes off the ropes and into a powerslam by Shad. Elbow drop by Shad for a near fall. Cody eventually tries to beg off the offense but then pokes JTG in the eyes. Action spills to the floor and JTG eats a clothesline. We go back into the ring and Cody is working JTG's arm. JTG tries to fight him off but Rhodes just tags in DiBiase and he goes to work on the arm. Elevated fist drop by Cody, who lays the boots to JTG and then wraps the arm in the ropes to keep control. After a long heat segment Cody goes up top and MISSES with a moonsault. JTG is the first man up and makes the hot tag to Shad, who immediately starts cleaning house! Snake eyes to DiBiase. Forearm smash to DiBiase for a near fall before Cody makes the save. JTG takes Cody down, but as he gets sent to the corner Cody gets a DDT on Shad for two. Shad saves himself with a leg on the ropes. Cody tags in and gets clotheslined by Shad. Tag to JTG. DiBiase comes in and JTG gets a roll up on Cody. The roll up is reversed by DiBiase and they steal the win! WINNERS AND STILL WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: RHODES & DIBIASE. A mystery samoan gets involved after the match.

* Shawn Michaels v. Chris Jericho (Unsanctioned Grudge Match)

Shawn is dressed for a fight tonight, wearing a sleeveless black shirt and blue jeans. As you would pretty much expect, this is a knock down brutal anything goes match. Shawn Michaels is getting thrashed soundly by Jericho early while Cole and Lawler discuss whether he should have heeded the doctor's advice. Michaels finally gets a comeback and reverses a whip attempt by Jericho into the steel ringpost. He's pissed off and whipping Jericho's butt. Shawn tunes up the band and prepares to give Jericho some sweet chin music but pulls up short as Jericho falls to his knees, and then decides he'd rather just punish Jericho some more. BIG mistake. Jericho goes after the bad eye successfully and goes back on the offensive. Jericho keeps raking the eyes of Michaels to do more damage, even as the ref warns him in vein to stop. Shawn keeps fighting back despite being half blind and connects with a wild blow. Chris recovers and gets Shawn into the Walls of Jericho. Shawn crawls and crawls for the ropes... but the ref can't break it even when he gets there because it's an unsanctioned match. Shawn reaches out and grabs a fire extinguisher and blasts Jericho in the face! Jericho is more blinded now than Shawn. Michaels cracks him in the skull with it and the action is on the floor now outside the ring. Shawn posts Jericho into the barricade as blackshirt security hold back the crowd. It's not long before Lance Cade gets involved to help Jericho out, bringing a steel chair into the mix, but Jericho eventually fights them both off and whacks Jericho in the head with said chair, knocking Y2J all the way to the floor going through a table in the process. Shawn lays Jericho out on an announce table but he rolls off. He goes back out, lays both Cade AND Jericho on the announce table, jumps off the ropes and lays out BOTH men with a HUGE flying elbow. Michaels isn't through with Jericho yet! Shawn drags him back into the ring and takes off his belt, wrapping it around his fist, grapevining Jericho and then punching him repeatedly with the belted fist. Shawn keeps punching him even after the ref begs him to stop and eventually the ref calls for the bell, apparently deciding to take mercy on Jericho. Lilian Garcia makes the announcement - LADIES AND GENTLEMEN HERE IS YOUR WINNER - SHAWN MICHAELS.

Shawn still wants more! The ref is trying to make him stop and SHAWN SUPERKICKS THE REF. The crowd is going nuts with H-B-K chants, they're not mad about this dastardly act one bit. Shawn's music plays as a posse of officials hit the ring and surround the prone body of Chris Jericho. Cole and Lawler break down the match with replays and highlights. Lawler describes Michaels as having acting like a man posessed tonight. We go to a promo for No Mercy on October 5th and when we come back Simply Priceless are celebrating backstage. Orton shows up and they point out they won their tag title match, then introduce Orton to their hitman Faju, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa. Orton says they've got God-given natural ability, but they should watch the video of how they got the fluke win and see if they really feel like they accomplished something. "Luck runs out but talent and ability lives on."

* WWE Championship Scramble Match

Jeff Hardy is the first man out as J.R. tries in vain to explain the rules. Shelton Benjamin is out second. Benjamin gets the inset video and says he's destined to win because he is the gold standard and will be wearing more gold after this match. Shelton is all over him early with a vicious assault, eventually moving to rest holds before going for a near fall. Tazz notes that Benjamin's cocky attitude is matched by his athletic ability as we get another near fall. Tazz is surprised Hardy wasn't flying around more. Hardy takes Benjamin to the mat just a few seconds before THE Brian Kendrick makes his way down to the ring. Benjamin and Hardy wind up on the apron slugging it out. Kendrick knocks Benjamin off the apron, kicks Hardy in the head and goes for a near fall. He gets a second one moments later. Hardy kicks out of one attempt after another. Kendrick gets a pinfall just seconds before the next man comes out to become the interim champion! MVP COMES IN THIRD. MVP tries to charge across the ring and Kendrick leaps in the air to hit him with a leg lariat. Hardy wipes him out seconds later. Kendrick is now desperately trying to break up any pinfall so he can retain the title for the rest of the match. Kendrick hits a twisting flying cross before Benjamin explodes into him with a tackle to knock him off his feet. Kendrick counters a possible powerbomb attempt by Benjamin and survives. MVP gets drilled in the face and we get another countdown. TRIPLE H IS IN LAST. You won't be surprised to know that Huntor the Barbarian quickly clears the ring, kicks Kendrick in the gut, and hits the Pedigree. HUNTER IS THE INTERIM CHAMP... for now. Hardy quickly gets Triple H with a Twist of Fate! 1-2-3. HARDY IS THE INTERIM CHAMP. Triple H realizes he can pin anybody to get the fall, so he Pedigrees our friend Spanky again to regain the interim belt. Hardy responds by hitting him with a Swanton to regain the belt! Back and forth we go. One minute left! Electric chair spot in the corner with 40 seconds to go and everyone is down. Hardy with a Whisper in the Wind! Hardy with a Swanton! 15 seconds left. Triple H gives MVP a Pedigree! He goes for the cover and gets the three count with one second left. WINNER AND STILL WWE CHAMPION: TRIPLE H.

We get a promo package for the Mr. Perfect DVD set afterwards, available in stores this Tuesday. Michaels is interviewed backstage. "Todd I'll answer that question in a minute. This is the first PPV in three months where I haven't spent the night in a hospital. I'm going to clean up, pack my bags, get in a plane and go home. Get in bed with my wife, see my kids when they get up in the morning, and everybody there will know by the look on my face what happened last night. Am I content? Yeah. Am I satisfied, do I feel a sense of closure? No. If I had my choice, I would do what I did to Jericho tonight every night for the rest of my life." Ouch. Next we go to CM Punk being interviewed. "The odds have been stacked against me my entire life." Orton interrupts. "Your chances would be greater if the guy holding the belt wasn't a fluke." Punk: "It wouldn't be a night if the bitter ex-champion wasn't here to comment. You've got no real reason to be here, I'm the heavyweight champ and I'm about to go out and have the match of my career." Orton and his cronies from Simply Priceless jump Punk. Kingston tries to help Punk and gets tossed. Punk's skull gets cracked and he's left down and out. Manu or Faju or whatever his name was helped them get the #'s advantage in the beatdown.

* Michelle McCool {C} v. Maryse (Smackdown Diva Championship Match)

Get your popcorn, get your drink, take a leak, do whatever you need to do right now. Trust me. You're not missing much. Watching McCool sell for the "offense" of Maryse is less exciting than watching paint dry. They're working a leg injury in the match and Maryse is trying to twist up McCool like a pretzel. The crowd has been up for Unforgiven most of the night but they're so quiet now you can hear every single grunt and groan from McCool as she writhes in pain. Somebody explain to her that when she oversells that much she sounds like a slut in a porn video. Mercifully it's not a long match - Michelle makes her comeback and gets the pin and it's over just like that. WINNER AND STILL SMACKDOWN DIVA CHAMPION - MICHELLE MCCOOL.

Adamle comes out to announce the Raw Scramble will go on, with or without Punk, with a suitable replacement if necessary. Coincidentally or not The Big Show comes out just seconds later and heads to the ring. "Hi! You know I'd like to, make a suggestion to Mike Adamle. If he's looking for a suitable replacement for Raw's scramble, I suggest he look no further than the world's largest athlete. Sometimes Adamle might seem like he's not all there, but even Adamle wouldn't make such a huge... OVERSIGHT and leave me out of a scramble like Vickie Guerrero. I know I know I'm with you, I'm sick and tired of how Vickie is running Smackdown." Vickie takes exception to Big Show's comments and comes down to the ring. "Do you not understand english? Or is it that you just plainly disregarded my explicit instructions to NOT cause a disruption? Maybe it's just that you're a big, dumb, giant. Don't look at me that way. Like I said before, that was the last time. Now, you will deal with the circumstances. Now get out of my ring and go back where you belong!"

Undertaker's druid music starts playing and Show laughs hysterically knowing Vickie is screwed. Taker appears on the Titantron: "I promised you I was coming for you at Unforgiven, and I also promised that coffin would be your final resting place. The only question is are you willing to go voluntarily, or will you force me to come down there and asphyxiate the precious air from your lungs so you slip into unconsciousness only to wake up to the scent of the noxious flames of hell?" GONG. GONG. GONG. Vickie is not leaving quietly so Undertaker is on his way out to do what's necessary to put her out of action. Vickie tries to flee and Big Show throws her back into the ring and holds her there as Undertaker calmly makes his way to her. Show stands on the apron holding her shoulders as the lights come back up and Taker stares her down. She begs for mercy and he shakes his head no. Big Show lets her go... and then clubs Undertaker with a big right hand!! Show and Taker spill out to the floor in the brawl that ensues, and Show posts Taker's back into the steel ringpost. Show stomps on Taker's chest and gives him a headbutt and the beatdown continues in front of the coffin Taker had brought out to put Vickie in. Shots to the body and the back along one of the barricades at ringside. Show throws taker back into the ring and hits a big right to the jaw.

Ross is completely bewildered on commentary and Tazz says this beatdown is neverending. It certainly seems that way - we're running out of time for the Raw Scramble Match. Show holds up a defenseless Taker so Vickie can slap him in the face and spit on him. The crowd boos like mad. Taker is left laying as Show follows Vickie to the back. WrestleMania 25 promo follows. Next up we get Orton running down Punk on Raw, Punk embarassing Orton after the scramble preview, and Punk getting jumped backstage tonight by Orton and his new Evolution posse. I guess the new Samoan's name is in fact Manu. I could have sworn Orton said Faju but Cole definitely said Manu while the clip played. Meanwhile Regal is petitioning Adamle to put him in the Scramble Match. Adamle says he'll take it under advisement but that Punk could still possibly make it out for the match so he's not deciding yet.

* Raw Scramble Match - World Heavyweight Championship

Batista is the first man to come out. JBL and his longhorn limo are out next. Oh sweet merciful Cthulhu, save me from having to watch Bradshaw vs. Batista for five uninterrupted minutes. It probably won't be as bad as Batista vs. Kane on Raw a few weeks ago, but it's not going to be a LOT better. Maybe an iota better, at best. Batista gets the first clothesline and near fall. Bradshaw responds with a sleeper hold and Batista powers out, then hits a chop block to the leg. Big Dave tries to grapevine the leg but JBL gets a rope break. Action spills to the floor and Bradshaw posts Batista's face in the apron. Batista responds by throwing him into the steel steps as we get the ten second countdown. KANE IS OUT THIRD. JBL is out on the floor. Oh great! We're getting Batista vs. Kane all over again. Kane hits a boot to the face and goes for the near fall. Kane tries to fly off the top rope and misses Batista. Bradshaw finally gets back in and knocks Batista down. Clothesline from hell misses, Kane gets a chokeslam on JBL and has the three count! KANE IS THE INTERIM WORLD CHAMPION. Ten second countdown. REY MYSTERIO COMES OUT FOURTH. Mysterio jumps off the ropes and kicks Kane out of the ring but Bradshaw clubs him down from behind. Rey Rey responds with a 'rana 'rana onto JBL. Kane avoids the six-one-nine and hits a clothesline on Mysterio. Batista gets back into the mix. He gives Mysterio a leg up onto his shoulders from the ropes and helps him splash onto Kane. Friends or no friends Mysterio still goes for a pinfall on Batista moments later. JBL hits a fallaway slam on Batista for two. Five... four... three... two... one... JERICHO IS THE LAST MAN OUT. Apparently Chris Jericho is replacing CM Punk, despite getting beaten to a pulp earlier! Batista quickly spears him and then gets JBL down for a near fall. Mysterio breaks up a pin attempt by Batista on Kane. 2:52 to go. Rey hits the six-one-nine on JBL but Batista knocks him off the apron. Batista starts cleaning house with 1:50 to go. Kane hits a scoop slam on Batista, comes off the top rope, goes for the cover but Batista kicks out at 2. Kane is still the interim champ regardless with one minute to go. Spear by Batista! Spinebuster! 1-2-3! BIG DAVE IS INTERIM CHAMP WITH A HALF MINUTE TO GO. Mysterio jumps on Batista, Dave fights him off, and while he's busy with that Jericho crawls in and covers the carcass of Kane for a three count just before time expires!!! YOUR WINNER AND NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: CHRIS JERICHO. Jericho gloats and celebrates as Batista walks away, stunned and disappointed. That's how the show ends - thanks for reading our live recap!
