Once a year WWE goes "Extreme" for an entire night; tonight is that night! The show begins with a video montage of the current feuds leading into the PPV including Edge vs. Jeff Hardy, John Cena vs. Big Show, and Randy Orton vs. Batista. CUE THE INTRO PYROS!! We are LIVE from New Orleans, Louisiana, and we begin with the U.S. Championship with commentary by Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler.

* United States Championship - Fatal 4-Way Match: Kofi Kingston {C} vs. William Regal vs. Matt Hardy vs. Montel Vontavious Porter

The bell rings and HERE WE GO! All men are looking weary as Hardy and Regal look to team up. This match will be all over the place as Kofi and MVP double team against Regal. Matt and MVP fight outside and in comes Kingston over the top, then a flying crossbody to Regal for 2. MVP and Kofi collide in the ring and both are down. Kofi leapfrogs MVP twice then hits a flying back elbow. Regal tees off on Kofi in the corner as the fans chant "Regal sucks!" That just makes him madder, so he sets Kofi up top, MVP runs in and suplexes both men off with Regal double-arm suplexing Kofi. Matt runs in to pin each men but they all kick out. Side Effect to Regal for 2. Hardy slams MVP and comes down with a legdrop for 2. Matt calls for the Twist of Fate but Kofi takes him down then hits a HIGH dropkick. Kofi slams Regal onto a downed Hardy then hits the BO! BO! twin legdrop on top of both, covering Matt for 2. Kofi sidesteps Matt, bounces of MVP, but gets caught by Regal and he tosses Kofi onto Matt and ended up covering him for 2. MVP boots Regal in the head then tosses Kofi for 2. MVP sets up Matt with a face kneebuster and hits the BALLIN' elbow but Regal breaks up the count and suplexes MVP. Kofi flies in but Regal pulls him down, kicks MVP out the ring, and slams Matt. Kofi catches Regal when turns right around into the Trouble in Paradise kick for the win! WINNER and STILL United States Champion: Kofi Kingston. Not really an "extreme match" but whatever, it was still good.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler take us to an earlier interview with Big Show. Show tells Josh Matthews that he proves it's impossible for Cena to put him into the STF and he's going to HURT him. We then cut to Jim Ross and Todd Grisham to call a SmackDown match, but first take us to an altercation with Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho when Y2J posed as a fan and attacked him two weeks ago. When he comes out for his match, Jericho decides to cut a rant about Rey Mysterio selling masks, being a liar and encouraging his fans to follow in Rey's footsteps. As he rants his way down to the ring through the stands, he yells at fans, "DON'T TOUCH ME AGAIN, I'll knock you out Junior!" He gets in the ring, continuing his speech, and vows to unmask Mysterio and take his title.

* Intercontinental Championship - No Holds Barred Match: Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio {C}

Soon as the bell rings Rey Mysterio goes right after Chris Jericho! He slams his head on the announcers' tables and dropkicks him while he's down. Jericho whips Rey towards the steps but Rey flips over them then kicks the steps to Y2J's knees. Rey is holding his own, so far, and he hits a hurricanrana from the apron to Jericho on the floor. Legdrop, cover, and Jericho kicks out then slings him on the ropes. He grabs Rey's legs then catapults him into the bottom rope and gets a 2-count. Jericho chokes Rey in the corner and the ref doesn't admonish Jericho because this is No Holds Barred. Rey tries a springboard attack but Chris shoves him off. Jericho tries for a springboard of his own but Rey counters him. Jericho on the floor, Rey up top, and he SOARS into Jericho.

Back in the ring Rey gets a 2-count after a springboard legdrop. Rey hangs Jericho on the ropes, goes for the 619 but Jericho knows it and counters. Leg kicks and a Rey rolls up Jericho for 2, reversal and Chris gets a 2 of his own. Rey tries a dropkick, Jericho catches him for the Walls but Rey rolls him up for 2. Rey kicks Y2J in the head and gets a near-fall. Jericho clotheslines him for 2, then punches Rey on the ground as the fans start a light dueling chant. Jericho suplexes Rey on his face outside the ring, brings him back in the ring and only gets a 2-count, so decides to put him in a headlock and try to remove the mask. Jericho charges and hits the ringpost after rRey moved, then Rey hit a suicide dive diagaonally near the corner! Senton splash, head-scissors and a hurricanrana gets only a near-fall. Jericho on the ropes, Jericho catches him running in with an excellent tiilt-a-whirl backbreaker for TWOOOO! Hurricanrana countered, Lionsault avoided, and a 619 to the back of Jericho's head! Rey tries a springboard and a CODEBREAKER IN MID-AIR. Jericho is slow to make the cover, finally does, but only 2.9999!

Jericho goes out to grab a chair, Rey dropkicks it into his face, and gets a 2-count. Rey picks up the chair now and uses it for a legdrop, but only for 2. The chair is now set up in the corner, Rey drops Jericho onto it, then Chris counters with a Walls of Jericho. Rey manages to hit Jericho with the chair, Jericho falls on the ropes and RIPS THE MASK OFF REY MYSTERIO'S FACE as he tried a 619 then rolls him up for 3!! WINNER and NEW Intercontinental Champion for the 9th time: Chris Jericho. After the replay, Jericho raises the IC title and Rey's mask in victory.

Promo for Macho Man Randy Savage's DVD release. Josh Matthews is backstage to interview Batista about Randy Orton kicking Ric Flair in the head inside a cage last week. "You know Randy, it's one thing to kick me in the head and put me out for months, and you took a cheapshot to Ric Flair that's a whole different ball game. And I'm gonna make you pay. So you get ready for a long road of pain and suffering. You think tonight's the end? It's only the beginning. Tonight, I take away the WWE Championship. Then I'm gonna take your pride, your dignity, your health, I'm gonna take EVERYTHING! And I'm not going to stop until I wipe out your entire Legacy!"

* Samoan Strap Match: Umaga vs. "Mr. Money-in-the-Bank" CM Punk

The referee Charles Robinson puts the strap handles around each competitor's wrists. J.R. explains that in order for the corner to count one man has to hit it with his HAND and no other body part. There's even a counter in the upper-right corner of the screen to tally who touched what corner. Umaga touches two corners but Punk stops him with a knee to the face. The counter gets waived off so they have to start again. The match slows down as Punk wears down Punk with kicks and whips with the strap. Umaga steps out the ring to hurt Punk on the ringpost. Back in the ring and Umaga hangs Punk on the ropes then kicks him in the face. Punk falls tot he floor and Umaga touches 2 corners. He goes for the third but Punk pulls him back, hits a springboard clothesline and the corners get waived off again. Punk tries to lift Umaga for the GTS but he slips off and hits a spinning heel kick. Punk dodges Umaga flying in and crotches him with the strap, then pulls him into the ringpost. Another big running knee in a corner plus a bulldog takes Umaga down. Punk hits one corner, another corner, a third... and Umaga yanks him into a spinning sidewalk slam. This cancels Punk's corners, so Umaga starts his own sequence. One, two, three... and Punk hangs onto the ropes and pulls the ropes down when Umaga charges. This match is boringly getting slower as Punk touches three corners but Umaga yanks him back again - cancel the corners. Umaga climbs up top and Punk pulls HIM off. Punk touches one corner, then another, and another, Umaga wakes up and runs into a GTS, then Punk makes the final touch! WINNER: CM Punk.

Gregory Helms interviews Christian backstage about his mindset for his title match. Christian mentions he is good friends with Tommy Dreamer and says he will miss Dreamer because he plans on retaining his title. Dreamer shows up and tells Christian he won't be the champion at the end. So this provokes Swagger to come in with his two cents, but Christian and Dreamer walk off!

* ECW Championship - Triple Threat Hardcore Match: Christian {C} vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Jack Swagger

Each men come out excited for this match, get in the ring, and get the title match introductions with Christian getting the most cheers, not by much though as an "ECW" chant starts. Swagger runs out the ring, Tommy chases, and Christian gets involved but gets tossed out. Swagger hits a nice Northern Lights Suplex and Dreamer rolls out to get some hardware. Christian has a trash can lid, Dreamer has a kendo Singapore cane and both attack Swagger. Dreamer hits a Russian legsweep using the cane, makes the cover and Christian breaks the cover. Dreamer tosses Christian backwards with the cane, then tosses Swagger over the top as he misses. Dreamer takes a trash can and hits a somersault splash from the apron onto both men. Back in the ring, Tommy hangs Swagger upside-down with a trash can in front of his face, Christian trips up Dreamer before he hits his ECW dropkick, and hits one of his own to Swagger!

Swagger uses the cane on the champ but only gets a 2-count, then hits an amateur gutbuster and a press slam for 2. Swagger goes to undo the turnbucle padding, Dreamer hits him with the cane and Christian gets a 2. Christian dodges an elbow drop, but gets hit with a trash can as he flies out to Swagger. Dreamer throws in MORE PLUNDAH and Swagger can't believe it! Swagger finally gets an upper hand, sets Dreamer up top, tries a superplex but Christian comes in for a Stacked Suplex. All men down but Christian crawls to cover each men but they kick out. Christian up top with a crutch, Swagger grabs it, and swings and misses. Christian tries for a Killswitch, Swagger counters sending his face into the exposed turnbuckle, and when he has Christian lifted for the gutwrench Tommy Dreamer cracks the wooden crutch to Swagger's torso and back. Dreamer hits the DDT to Swagger, makes the cover, and WINS... yes, WINS the title! Thomas John Laughlin did it! WINNER and NEW ECW Champion: Tommy Dreamer.

Backstage Chavo helps Vickie warm up for her upcoming match, even wearing a snout mask. He gets too into it and starts squealing so Vickie bops him on the nose and he cries about it. Michael Cole forces a laugh as we come back, takes time out to talk about The Bash on June 28, then we go to The King in a hogpen explaining the rules. Jerry Lawler: "This match is gonna stink, literally." No, really, it WILL stink and not in a good way at all. YAWN~! Santina comes out first, reluctant to walk in the mud. Vickie then announces this as a Handicap Match as she orders Chavo to participate. He refuses, Lawler steps out, and Chavo winces as he steps in.

* "Miss WrestleMania" Crown - HogPen Match: Santina Marella vs. Chavo Guerrero & Vickie Guerrero {C}

Bell rings and "Santina" tosses mud on Chavo, then he beats and stomps on Marella. All the while Vickie Guerrero is outside the mud ring. Chavo tosses slop into Marella, tries to shove Marella but Chavo ends up inside with the pigs. This match is SOOOO terrible! Vickie finally gets in once Marella is face-first, but Marella gets up and threatens to slop Vickie. Chavo takes the bucket and slops Vickie by accident, gets slopped himself, and Santina pins Vickie in the mud. WINNER: Santina Marella. Vickie is mad, she and Chavo argue, and we all lose. THIS WAS STUPID~!

After all that crap (no pun intended) is over, we go to a video package for the WWE Championship between Randy Orton and Batista, also involving "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Afterwards, Vickie is crying about losing the crown to Santina and Chavo tries to console her. They walk into Hornswoggle and Goldust, to which Goldust screams "Eww, you smell like SHIT... SHITAKE MUSHROOMS!" through his Turrette's. They make their way to her office and Edge is sitting there. Edge wants to strategize about his title match. Vickie tells him that she will NOT be sending any Raw superstar to assist him in his match tonight since he didn't help her tonight. Edge scoffs at that and screams he wants a divorce as Vickie forces herself to sob. He says he ends Jeff Hardy and "this sham of a marriage" then storms off.

* WWE Championship - Steel Cage Match: Randy Orton {C} vs. Dave Batista

The rules of this cage match is to win by pinfall, submission or escape from the cage - just getting that outta the way. Once both men are inside the cage, Lillian Garcia gives them proper championship introductions. Bell rings and Orton immediately climbs the cage. Batista follows but is unsuccessful as Orton climb over the top. Orton and Batista are back in the ring and Batista spears Orton's back in the cage. Third time Orton counters, tries to climb again but Batista pulls him back in. Batista executes a suplex for a 2-count. Orton tries to escape through the door but to no avail. Batista has Orton on his shoulders but gets shoved into the cage and gets a backbreaker. He stops Orton from going out the door, slams his face on the cage several times and hits a powerslam for 2. Randy counters Dave, then punches and stomps him in the corner. Batista counters Orton with a Spinebuster! Batista Bomb set-up derailed as Orton flips him over into the cage wall. While Batista is between the ropes and cage, Orton hits a high dropkick. Orton starts to climb, turns around to go for the Punt Kick but misses so he climbs the cage instead. Batista grabs his legs, pulls him down to set him up for the Batista Bomb, Orton counters and tries for the RKO but Batsita shoves him into the cage. BATISTA BOMB connects and Batista makes the cover, 1-2-3. WINNER and NEW WWE Champion: Batista. Batista celebrates at the top of the cage, then at the top of the ramp. I prefer Randy Orton stay champion and Batista NOT in the title picture, let alone the champion.

Backstage, Cena gets ready for his Submission Match with Big Show, which throws us to a video package between these two superstars.

* Submission Match: Big Show vs. John Cena

Big Show comes out first, then Cena comes out with a lot of cheers from the crowd. If there are boos they're being drowned out by the Cena fans as they chant "Cena! Cena!" Cena kicks Show in the legs, but Show catcheson as he grabs Cena's leg and clotheslines him. Shows tries for his Camel Clutch Backbreaker and Cena slips out to try his STF. Nothing works. Cena ducks Show and send body punches but Show kicks him down. Big shots to Cena's gut and a headbutt, then Cena falls after a splash in the corner. Show shouts at Cena, "You didn't think this would be easy, did you?" Cena tries to bulldog Show but he gets shoved and FLIES to the floor. Back in the ring and Cena fights back, tries for a shoulder blocks and BOUNCES off Show. Big Show methodically and slowly attacks Cena as he tells him, "I'm going to break you." Show tries to lock in a full nelson but Cena powers out, so Show just knocks him down. Cena boots Show as he charges in and he locks in a sleeper hold which sends him to his knees. Show kicks Cena in the gut and slams him overhead. Show dominates most of the match and every time Cena tries a comeback it doesn't work. Big Show suplexes Cena and smiles, stands on Cena's torso using the ropes, then chokes him with the ropes. I'm losing interest in this match as Show slowly dominates. Cena avoids a splash, tries a body slam, falls, AND SHOW HANGS ON with a submission hold. Show sends Cena over the top rope to the floor as it looked like Show was going for a chokeslam but decided otherwise.

Show sends Cena ribs-first into the ringpost, then locks in an abdominal stretch in the ring. Show tries for a chokeslam but Cena reverses it to a DDT, then the STF gets countered. Show pulls Cena up, gets kicked, but catches Cena flying in with a bearhug. Cena gets out, calls for a 5-Knuckle Shuffle and connects. Chokeslam countered and Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment! STF countered AGAIN when Show elbows Cena in the face. BIG RIGHT HAND KNOCKS CENA OUT! Cena counters Show sending him face-first into the post. Why is this match taking forever when the WWE Championship Match seemed like only 7 minutes? Cena hits the top rope legdrop, goes over to the ropes to lock Show's legs in, and applies an altered STF (which looks more like a crossface). What is this? Show's legs slipped out of the ropes and he taps out to a basically a crossface. WINNER: John Cena. SuperCena does it again! Afterwards, Jim Ross and Todd Grisham take us to a video package chronicling the feud between Edge and Jeff Hardy.

* World Heavyweight Championship - Ladder Match: Edge {C} vs. Jeff Hardy

There are ladders EVERYWHERE~! Edge comes out with no title - it's already hanging high above the ring. Jeff Hardy comes out next slapping hands with the fans and walking under ladders showing he is not superstitious. J.R. gives a nice piece of info telling us that neither man has ever lost at an Extreme Rules (f/k/a One Night Stand) PPV. Both men in the ring for formal title match introductions, bell rings, and here we go for our main event! Jeff takes Edge to separate corners attacking him in each. Legdrop in the middle but then Edge takes his turn. Edge spears Jeff in the corner to take him out. Edgecution countered into an inverted suplex. Jeff goes out to grab a ladder and Edge baseball slides the ladder into Jeff. Back in the ring and Jeff pummels his opponent then sends him over the top onto a ladder outside. Jeff sets up a ladder under the title, Edge pulls him off and sends him into the ladder forcing him to fall on it. Edge sends up a ladder in the corner and whips Jeff into it. He rests him on it but goes into the ladder as Jeff leaps over an attempted spear. Edge slumped in the corner, Jeff sets a ladder in his face and dropkicks it into Edge's face.

Edge leaning against a ladder again and this time Jeff dropkicks an empty ladder - no Edge. Jeff gets thrown in between a ladder, Edge slams it on his leg then executes a Sharpshooter with the ladder and Jeff still in it! Jeff taps out, but it's no use. Edge tosses Jeff aside then sets up the ladder. Jeff climbs up top and dropkicks the ladder sending Edge crashing onto his back. Jeff have the ladder upside-down now leaning against the ropes and suplexes Edge inside the ladder on the bars! Jeff goes out, and grabs THE TALL ONE. Twist of Fate connects! Jeff is thinking of doing something dastardly as the ladder is in the corner but Edge scoots away, SO HE HANGS ON THE CABLES, but Edge yanks him down onto the fallen ladder. Edge sets the Tall One in the corner, limps to Jeff in pain, and Jeff reverses him. Jeff climbs the Tall ladder and connects with Whisper in the Wind from 3/4's up!

Jeff goes out to grab another ladder, then sends Edge out the ring - himself included. Both men up and Edge boots him in the face. Edge grabs a ladder and sets it up between the ring apron and barricade, grabs Jeff and tries a suplex but Hardy fights out. Jeff tosses a ladder at Edge in front of the announcers' table, but then gets countered into the steps. Edge comes over with steps but Jeff kicks him so he falls on top. Jeff bulldogs Edge onto the security wall as he lands in the crowd. Edge gets placed on the ladder set up on the wall and apron, Jeff clibs up ANOTHER ladder and Edge rolls up to meet him up his. BOTH MEN FALL INTO THE SET-UP LADDER; it snapped right in half~! The replay shows Edge took the brunt of the fall as Hardy's legs landed on it. GREAT MATCH SO FAR.

Both men crawl in the ring and trade punches and Edge goes flying into a ref in the ring. Jeff climbing up the ladder in the middle, Edge climbing up the Tall ladder in the corner, and as Edge tries a spear Jeff Hardy COUNTERS WITH A TWIST OF FATE IN MID-AIR! Jeff climbs up a ladder and Edge heads to the other side. Jeff falls and pulls Edge's legs to hang him in the ladder. Hardy climbs up and grabs the World Heavyweight Championship!! HARDY DID IT AGAIN! WINNER AND NEW World Heavyweight Champion: JEFF HARDY!

J.R. is in the ring getting ready to interview the new champ. Just as everybody is jumping out of their seats to cheer for Hardy's amazing win, CM PUNK heads out with his own referee to cash in his Money-in-the-Bank contract! Jeff can barely stand, but it's now official!

* World Heavyweight Championship - Money-in-the-Bank Cash-In: Jeff Hardy {C} vs. CM Punk

Bell rings, Punk hits the GTS, but Jeff kicks out at 2!! Punk can't believe it, picks him up again, and Jeff rolls him up for 2. Punk kicks Jeff in the head, GTS again, hooks the legs... 1-2-3! WINNER and NEW World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk!

The crowd is booing CM Punk for ruining Jeff Hardy's celebration, but he couldn't care less. Hardy was champion for all of three minutes. Punk is ecstatic as he successfully cashed in his briefcase to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the second year in a row... and that's how WWE Extreme Rules goes off the air.
