06/23/09: WWE - Raw Rating, Trump Update & 'Red' Lyons Passes Away

Last night's edition of Raw scored a 4.5 cable rating off hours of 4.25 and 4.81. (PWI). Obviously happy about the huge ratings boost, WWE sent out the following press release today.

    Donald Trump "Fired"

    STAMFORD, CT, June 23, 2009 – After yesterday's monumental announcement by Monday Night Raw® "owner" Donald Trump that all ticketholders attending last night's show in Green Bay would receive a ticket refund, the tables were turned and he was unceremoniously "fired" by Chairman Mr. McMahon. Fortunately, prior to being "fired," Donald Trump doubled his money by selling Monday Night Raw back to Mr. McMahon.

    Although Trump is no longer the "owner" of Monday Night Raw, this may not be the end of the feud between these two world class promoters.

Last but not least Billy 'Red' Lyons, who was a fixture of the Toronto wrestling scene from 1954-1984, passed away today. The cause of death was cancer which had spread to his spine. He was 77. (WO) Our condolences to his family and friends.
