Staff Bios - Nickolye

Nickolye (aka Nick) is a contributing writer and recapper, currently covering WWE SmackDown, WWE Superstars and WWE Pay-Per-Views. Nick is host of The SmackDown RunDown every Friday night at 11PM ET on the AngryMarks Podcast Network, and contributing host on Ring the Bell and Thursday Night AMP.

Nick grew up in the city of Brockton, Massachusetts - approximately 10 miles south of Boston, MA. A graduate of Brockton High School, he got into wrestling in December 1998, not as early as some people but still became a fan of what he saw. As a matter of fact, he didn't even like wrestling at all and never watched as a kid, but heard of it and its wrestlers, namely "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. But then again, who hasn't heard of Hogan?

He always says to his friends who watched wrestling, "It's fake, why do you even watch it?" They would then in turn tell him to watch it to see what it's like, so one day he did. What got him into watching Monday Night Raw was not the fake punches that missed by a mile, it was the storylines that hooked him in and peaked his interest. Nickolye was intrigued to find out what would happened next week. Commissioner Shawn Michaels was cool to watch, but the men who made him a mark were "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, and the members of D-Generation X! He didn't really believe The Undertaker was an actual dead man, but dug his character. He loved the "attitude" these men exuberated. It's a male soap opera, but cool at the same time. It was at that point he became a mark for wrestling.

It wasn't until 2005 that Nickolye started to really look behind the curtain. He read about all the back-stories of the wrestling business and that's when his perspective really changed. He still watches WWE programming, but can't watch it as a mark anymore. Now he watches the shows as an AngryMark! Outside of the pro-wrestling business, Nick is a fan of good hip-hop music and likes to hang out, play pool and video games. Occasionally, he types up lyrics for the website OHHLA.com.
