11/12/09 TNA Impact Recap
This week on TNA Impact, Abyss faces off with Dr. Stevie and if Stevie loses he's gone from TNA. Also Jay Lethal challenges any wrestler with Legendary Status. Also in an 8 Knockout Tag. It's ODB, Tara, Sarita, and Taylor Wilde faces off Awesome Kong and The Beautiful People. Wow Awesome Kong really has no direction. Plus in the main event Samoa Joe collides with TNA Champion AJ Styles in the main event.
Match 1
Dr Stevie beat Abyss in about 4 minutes when the lights went out after Abyss hit the Black Hole Slam. After the Match Mick Foley ran to ringside but the lights went out again and Foley is fireballed and the lights come back on to reveal RAVEN in the ring with Dr Stevie and Daffney. YES RAVEN Awesome.
We go backstage to Jeremy Borash who is with Raven, Stevie, and Daffney. Stevie says he's here to stay. Raven cuts an awesome promo about how Abyss has the intelligence of a Moron but he has the intelligence of a Serial Killer. Quote the Raven Nevermore.
Match 2
Alissa Flash beat Traci Brooks by Submission with the Fujiwara Armbar in about 2 minutes. The story of this match is that apparently Traci is handicapped in her right arm and has been her whole life but she didn't want anyone to know. That's not a bad angle but in itself it's kind of stupid. After the Match Traci beat the living shit out of Flash until referees had to hold her back. I hope this leads somewhere for both Alissa and Traci as I like both and it sucks that TNA has so many talented women that they're not using.
Match 3
Jim Neidhart beat Jay Lethal in 3 minutes with a powerslam. I ask the question what the fuck year is this. Neidhart could barely even move around the ring.
We go to an apparently taped interview with Lauren and Bobby Lashley. Lashley is called away to see a video of Scott Steiner at a hotel and implies that Kristal who is Lashley's wife is cheating on him. More on this later. This feud reminds me of Scott Steiner's angle with DDP back in WCW in 1999 as long as Kristal isn't going to be thrown from the back seat of a moving car I'm fine.
Match 4
Awesome Kong and The Beautiful People beat ODB Sarita Taylor Wilde and Tara when Kong Pinned Taylor with a spinning Implant Buster.
We now see the footage of Bobby Lashley attempting to save his wife as he dashes to the Hotel room to find his wife in No Fucking Peril at all and then gets attacked by Scott Steiner who beats him with a pipe and then hits Lashley with a lamp as Kristal is in the background just trying to act and scream and Steiner tells Lashley to look at his baby because he has Steiner's eyes. Jesus Christ what a lame fucking segment this was.
Kurt Angle comes to the ring with a microphone as we take a look at what happened two weeks ago on Impact when Kurt was attacked by Desmond Wolfe. Angle gets on the microphone and says that over the last couple months AJ Styles and Matt Morgan have taken him to his limits and have earned their spots in TNA. Angle calls Desmond Wolfe a punk and says that he has not earned anything yet. Desmond comes on the video screen with some random broad and calls Angle Mangled and says he's in TNA to take Angle's place. This is all a trick as Desmond then attacks Angle from behind with a big clothesline and then DDT's him on the floor of the Impact Zone.
Match 5
The Motor City Machine Guns and TNA X Division Champion Amazing Red beat Homicide Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir when Kiyoshi was pinned after a frog splash/neckbreaker combination.
Rhino and Team 3D make their way to the ring. Brother Ray says they're on board with Hogan coming in. But they aren't involved. Ray says that he is glad he hit both Hernandez and Morgan. Morgan and Hernandez coming out and Morgan insults 3D. Ray says that there will be a street fight and asks if Morgan and Hernandez have a partner and out comes Pope D'Angelo Dinero. Dinero says that he will be the partner and says that at Turning Point they will find out why Pope is Pimpin.
Match 6
Beer Money beat TNA Tag Team Champions The British Invasion in 6 minutes when Roode Pinned Magnus with the Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combination.
We go backstage to Jeremy Borash who is with Pope, Matt Morgan, and Hernandez. Hernandez says that he doesn't trust someone who wears shades. Pope says that he wears shades because like them his future is bright. Pope tells Morgan and Hernandez need to get on the Pope Mobile and come Turning Point they will all be Pimpin.
We go backstage to Lauren who is with Daniels who cuts a promo about the title match and says that he is every bit the wrestler that AJ Styles is and says if TNA had the faith in him that they did AJ he'd be Champion. Daniels says that he and AJ will always be friends but this is the wrestling business and he wants the TNA Title at Turning Point.
Main Event
Samoa Joe beat TNA World Champion AJ Styles by Submission in 6 minutes and posed with the belt to end the show.
Ehh not a great show this week at all and I'll say that Turning Point sounds decent but the last two weeks the build hasn't been there.
